We have been living in Walt Disney fantasy land. Weaned off the word of God. Many of us are seeing the truth through this disaster. God wants us to help each other as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Heidi, I'm an elderly, handicapped retired minister's wife. My husband is also elderly and handicapped. We served small, rural churches all of our lives. The last few years of our lives have pushed us to a place that is very similar to the one in which you are currently living. My husband's health has suffered so much in recent years that he was forced to retire. We live in circumstances that most Americans would gasp at if they knew the entire story. I share all of this in agreement with what you shared on your video today. Somehow, the Lord continues to uphold us in the midst of a very difficult situation. Were we not having to pinch every penny to survive, I would certainly appreciate the opportunity to help you and others there within your reach. What I am doing, and have been doing, is praying for you and trying to watch your videos, like them and comment to help your channel grow. If you have the time, I would also appreciate your prayers for my husband and myself. Thank you. God bless you and keep you and your family safe in His Care 🙏.
Thank you for your many years of service to our Lord, none of it was done without His noticing. You have eternal crows awaiting you and your husband. Bless you as You're physical bodies are growing with age, may Your spirits be strengthened day by day. Bless you!
What happened in Valecia, Spain has so many similarities. No advance warning until too late, help arrived days later, volunteers being discouraged and in many cases forbidden to help. 400+ dead and 1000+ missing. 2 Chronicles 14:7 should be our focus. Strength and love to you, your family and neighbors.
Heidi thank you for this!! I have felt this way very strongly, ever since 2020. I also have a baby homestead and I have been working steadily toward becoming more self reliant. Community is so important but sadly most of those around me are not interested in spending time or effort or even acknowledging the need to become more self sufficient. I am crushed but still carrying on because those people around me are not preparing and if I am not prepared for myself I will not be able to help them. God is calling so many of his children to STOP RELYING on the world to take care of them and their children. Come out of her my people lest you partake of her sins and reap her plagues. (Paraphrase ) We cannot live in Babylon and rely on the world to care for us and keep us safe, without placing the worldly systems up on a pedestal!
Before the hurricanes I held a neighborhood safety meeting for the people around me here in Oregon to start being a bit more community-minded. 3 of 11 who were invited came. (Only Californians, interestingly.) It's time to change our mindsets away from the "every man for himself" mode they've trained us to do.
I am also in Oregon also (rural Washington county, between Portland and the coast) and have been slowly preparing since 2020 and becoming more self reliant. Unfortunately only one family I know has taken my hints and suggestions seriously, dozens more think that "nothing that bad can happen here" or "I'll worry about that when it happens" 🤦 I just don't understand it, especially with all the disasters we have been seeing lately. Thank you for being a proactive person in your neighborhood! Being self reliant helps so much because you CANNOT HELP ANYONE ELSE if you yourself need help!
@juliabrown5948 Good on you Julia. So many will perish for lack of common sense. They already have, and even many who did everything possible to prep. The world is crazy and we all need each other. May you be blessed and protected.
After the election from what i am hearing. A lot of people are loosing their jobs. I don't know if they will be replaced with cheaper labor or AI? Or a company closing. Things are changing. Be careful the boarders are open on every side. Learn self defense. Dogs are a good protection. If this would happen to people in the city. We would be so lost. The stores have all our resources. Some people don't know how to grow a plant. Others don't have much ground to vegetables to keep their families going. There's a lot to learn. You are a head of a city slicker. I know because I live in a city. And there's people coming from other countries. I am hearing language's that i never heard before. A lot to learn. God is with us 24/7. No Vacations. No Breaks. Just a Fathers ❤.
Historically God uses His people and the church proper to meet the needs of others either before, during and after hard times both spiritually and materially. His goodness never fails, and His mercies are new every day. The insight the Holy Spirit has given all of you in WNC is amazing. I have been blessed so much by what you have shared. Bless and keep them Lord. Numbers 6:24-26.
Heidi, you are an inspiration! ❤️ I kept asking my friend that lived 40 minutes away from me about helping the people affected from the hurricane! I asked did her pastor bring it up that there was a great need! 2 times at different days, her answer was no her Pastor did not speak about the great need! I was aghast! God bless you and your loved ones in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ!✝️🙏❤️
There's a lot has shocked me in the last 4 years - people's attitudes to their fellow man including religious leaders. We need to keep sharing love, kind, compassion for our fellow man - our community - it's up to all of us worldwide to jump in when needed Bless everyone that is helping here in the crisis and all other countries going through the tragedy of these "weather events" 🙏🏼❤️
Lots of truth there. One of the things I've noticed amongst "regular" people is this unwillingness to admit things that bring up uncomfortable points as a result. It's a psychological thing we do to protect ourselves, so no fault on the people themselves. However, it's problematic because if you won't admit there's an issue....you can't fix the issue. When I got hit by Helene, the one thing I noticed was that I was terribly alone. I had to own up to the fact that my solitary ways have created this situation. It's my fault. Maybe a lot of reasons behind it, sure, but still my fault. When everyone else was hanging out with friends and family, checking in on buddies, helping to clear roads or clean yards, I sat at home without a soul to talk with. And it was all my doing. Uncomfortable to admit, but a true thing nonetheless. Secondly, people generally want to believe that someone else will ride to the rescue because it excuses them from getting involved. You see this in politics a lot as people complain about the state of affairs, yet only actually participate in their own governance It's easy to convince yourself that there's always a safety net if it means you can be lazy and do the fun stuff rather than the un-fun stuff. When I worked in the security field, I saw this all the time with guys wanting to buy yet another gun or yet more ammunition.... but you couldn't pay them to take a basic driving course. Literally. They would come up with every excuse in the book to get out of it even though it was a skill they could use every day and would help them on their insurance. It just wasn't cool. I've always been more inclined towards the old ways and old technology because I found it understandable and could see that it worked. Ropes and pulleys never fail, but I've thrown out dozens of ratchet straps that got jammed up or rusted through. I'm rare, though, because most people would rather spend money on new ratchet straps rather than learn basic ropework and memorize a few knots. During Helene's aftermath, my chainsaw was messed up from sitting for so long unused, but my axes and pruning saws worked perfectly well. Look at the crews volunteering to help out, though, and you can't find a single person running a one-man crosscut saw like the people who settled that region in the days long passed. Thousands of trees downed by the winds, yet nobody is scrambling to build log cabins to get people through the cold winter. Legions of teenage boys aren't going through the hills and valleys with axes in hand, clearing trails and building bridges for folks. I'll bet that not 1 in 20 homes has a garden, and those that do.... well only a fraction of a fraction practice canning and pickling to preserve their yearly harvest. People want to take the easy way out, so they convince themselves that there's no reason to live a life of preparedness because one way is easy and fun, the other way is not. That's where we've gone wrong, and I certainly have made a world of mistakes just like everyone else. When I talk about getting back to the old ways, that comes with a lot of very tough calls to make. For example, one of the reasons why this storm was so bad was because so many people have moved into the area over the last few decades. Every home and driveway creates an impermeable surface that doesn't allow rain to soak into the ground. Everybody wants to live in the "beautiful mountains", and everyone already living there wants to welcome them because it means they're the cool group for the moment. Nobody's willing to say no. To say that there's no more room. That you can't build here or the like. Then we complain about how property taxes are going through the roof and families are being forced to leave their old homes, selling out to some wealthy person or developer because they have no choice in the matter. That sounds unreal, but it happens every single day and nobody wants to admit it. Reminds me of the old saying about how heaven has strict immigration rules, but the gates to hell are wide open. There's a lesson there if folks are willing to actually think about it. If you have a garden, it must be tended. There must be a fence up to keep out the unwanted things. Weeds must be pulled. And there will always be people quick to call you mean names, say you're being unfair, screeching about how the weeds have just as much right to be there, or you need to share your bounty with those less fortunate.... There's always snakes in the grass whispering their wiley words. Your job is to tend the garden, and be willing to make those tough calls. And that requires honesty within yourself. I just don't think folks are ready to do that, so they'll continue to convince themselves that there's government help just around the corner.
I agree with so much of this. Thank you for sharing. I love the older ways, and I believe a time is coming when we will be forced to go back to them. Many will be completely lost. Have you seen about the Amish Master builders coming down from PA to build tiny wood homes for the flood victims. They are completely self sufficient and only needed a place to sleep. And they are planning to build dozens of tiny homes, no power, just good old hard work.
I’ve never relied on the government to save me and I’m shocked as to how many people do! Also never looked to a President to get my moral compass, so it shocks me again how so many people think that’s their responsibility!!
We have to grasp the old concept of looking after ourselves and family. To read weather patterns and not rely on others to predict our future, but rely on God. Walk his path aka not rely on our own understanding. Put a little (basics) aside for the future.
We put too much faith in the government and we are expecting too much of even our preferred party. We must and can trust in the Lord. He will get the glory for it.
The Bible says, "we are struck down, but not destroyed; persecuted but not abandoned". God is with you. We are with you. We know it's a marathon, not a sprint. Even tho I'm on a fixed income, I have & will coninue to donate once per month to NC mountain relief. I can't do a lot, but I can do something. I'm encouraging others to do the same. Much love from Alabama.❤
When you shared your story, I thought the Lords hand would work with sharing the heart of His love and grace. That the moving of the holy sprit would work for end times. He is getting His bride ready for His return. 🙏🙏❤. All this shall pass away. He will return. 🙏
Hi from England 🏴 😊. I have just started putting a business together. Sounds grand , but it's only me. God has really been showing me that I have to get prepared to support myself. Government is the one thing that I can make irrelevant in my life
But our God is, has come in a abundance, ask for help from people getting the messages out including the local churches and stay in contact w reputable christian groups that stopped their lives to come help WNC, and every other place that needed it. More will come and ask God, He always comes.
When Hurricane Sandy hit the NE people pulled together & made great changes. When Fort Myers got hit & a lot of other places. The news fades away & what happens how do the people make it? They don't show what happens to the people. How to pick up the pieces & start over. I know that they need their privacy. But help is needed after the storms in life. FL is loosing their home insurance because of the hurricanes. God can bring Miracles out of a mess.
I have been trying to get updated information. They did do weekly updates for 3 weeks, but now nothing. At last bat apparently, power and communications were up and there were 300 roads left to repair. No update on deaths and unaccounted-for persons and no update on water. I even went to the state government site and they have nothing ! Updates are old. The governor Cooper does a short ad for tourism how can there be tourism when 35% of the water is running right? Then he talks about misinformation ad nauseum. I get that you need to be prepared and be self-reliant but the State IS responsible for water, power and roads and this news blackout is disturbing. If the conditions were reported I would expect your government to be asking other states for help. But they aren't. The kinds of information they provide is like here are the number of FEMA workers, these are the numbers of people who registered for help we have this many vehicles and this many national guard. So what? What is getting done? I compared it to Ron DeSantis and he and his team were talking day by day about what progress was being made.
It's just how I am seeing everything from my own perspective but a) they want all the people in easily controlled 15 minute cities. These mountain people are the homesteaders and home makers. The farmers. The story tellers of old wisdom. Not to even mention the land and natural resources and one the absolute cleanest purest self sustaining water sources in the country. . 😢 If they show the world what's BEEN DONE here, then there's the chance we would recover from this. Or make actual sense of all of it and act accordingly. And lastly the numbers, none of us will ever know. 😭😭The missing or the dead. Oh and about the roads and water or whatever being the responsibility of the government, haha, I'm just giving my opinion again but I'm pretty sure FEMA is updating the "flood areas" and other maps that will eventually take care of that. No, I'll stop before I say something I shouldn't. But I hope this news the real story of what is actually happening in this area gets out. And I pray the people take heed. There's nothing natural about any of it. And disaster doesn't even begin to describe what's happened.
You are right - No one is going to come to save you - you must save yourself. I have a number of neighbors that think I am Mr. Doomsday. Oh yea, the Village Idiot. But when it does happen and it will. They will want me to save them. I am not Saving LLC. It is really a mess. I wish you the best, as the days move on.
We are all responsible to be able to care for ourselves and our loved ones, no matter what happens. 💯 Can many of us say that we are prepared for that? Our grandparents were, they knew how to work hard and provide what they needed, but sadly the generations since are so wrapped up in technology and all the worldly systems of "convenience" that they have completely forgotten how to work with their own two hands and provide for their family.
Heidi I do understand what your saying. I know many for years figured the government would take care of them with Social Security. I mean you pay in so shouldnt there be money then when you retire. Well we have to have other means too to take care of ourselves. If we rely on the government to take care of us that is scary. I mean honestly it is not even a given that other people will come to our add. It is a such a blessing when they do. We just have to make sure we have a plan for future but not worry about the future because God is already there. I think a natural disaster or any hard ship that comes to us I think one thing it teaches us is to always be thankful and not wrap our lives into our material goods but to store our treasures in Heaven. If we do then a disaster happens and we lose everything where is our hope. I am glad you guys still have your home but yes mold and drying out your home can be a process. Also it came at a time when you were blessing your friends with you home too as they came out to live in your area. Then when the hurricane happened it was hard on you all. I do hope you will soon be able to get things done in your home and your barn rebuilt etc. It may Take time but i do wish you all the best. I do hope everyone is starting to feel better and be healthy again. God bless all of you.

Secondly, people generally want to believe that someone else will ride to the rescue because it excuses them from getting involved. You see this in politics a lot as people complain about the state of affairs, yet only actually participate in their own governance
It's easy to convince yourself that there's always a safety net if it means you can be lazy and do the fun stuff rather than the un-fun stuff.

I bet the Amish will be rosing barns for folks somewhere. Or youth during Winter Break.
FEMA has not a good reputation. We remember Katrina.
This kind of stuff used to be news, but now the is Diddy, whoever that is. 😅
Reading the major prophet books in the Bible recently and hearing this message makes me wonder if our country has made the government an idol?
