I think the reason Zaheer is already a good airbender is because he's been studying the martial arts side of airbending as well as their philosophy and history
Yeah, by fully immersing himself he soaked up all the theoretical concepts and likely had a good working knowledge of the movements as well, even without yet being a bender. It's been strongly suspected among fans that Zaheer was either an Air Acolyte in the past (before becoming radicalized) or... **SPOILERS for upcoming background details** : : : ...he infiltrated and became an Air Acolyte because the Red Lotus' original plan was to use the Avatar for their own ends, and he would have been her airbending instructor.
i would take Zaheer's vague line "I've always admired the culture." very seriously. That's it. That's the explanation for how he's such a prodigy....he isn't. He's always worked at it, just without the bending.
A little correction on 15:48. When they got to the third season, they knew they were getting a fourth. They were able to set up a few things for book four.
A bigger correction, it’s was supposed to be only season one, season one finale was made thinking that in case it ended there fans would be happy, and I personally would’ve, but thank god they didn’t, but season 2 3 and 4 just be thankful for what you get
I love LOVE the way they wrote the Beifongs and their family dynamics. Well, not the way Lin suddenly got over things - but they have a plot to move along. Lin gets more depth here and Suyin may get more than you expect. They never really explain WHY Zaheer was so dangerous as to need a supervillain cell. But what we do know or learn about him: - Very intelligent, probably (he fits the tropes) - Very spiritually adept - Skilled fighter, very agile - Very charismatic (he's attracted some of the world's most powerful benders to his cause, as well as some other people who you'll see) - Ruthless ...so he's basically a supervillain.
I honestly felt it for Lin. She tried to stop her sister from making bad choices, was just doing her job at the scene, and got scarred for it. And when they saw each other again, Suyin was acting like she didn't betray her, and it took a full fight for an apology. And Suyin was in NO RIGHT to bring up Tenzin, as if that was relevant to their problem.
But Lin has no right in saying Suyin had not change, that she is the same, Suyin has a new life and she is a different person and that her sister tell her that she has not changed and bring all her past mistakes back, Lin was in no right to do that.
@@AlexKuuD If Suyin wanted to convince her she's changed, she wouldn't have acted like the last time they saw each other wasn't heartbreaking pain, like nothing happened. Even when they talked about it, she didn't seem to acknowledge she betrayed and hurt her, and was just saying "I wasn't perfect, but..." Nor would she bring up Tenzin like a brat, despite it being decades since they broke up.
@@ianmitchell5979 Suyin didn't want to convincente Lin that she is changed bc SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO, the last time they saw each other Lin wanted her sister in jail, Suyin created the life that Lin always wanted and couldn't have for envy her, "betrayed her and hurt her" HOW? Wtf r u talking abt? Suyin didn't betray Lin, she hurt her FOR ACCIDENT when Lin did arrest her, Suyin had all the right to defend herself. And Suyin bring up Tenzin bc she was so fckn tired of Lin, that she judged her and all of her new life WHEN SHE CHANGED, even if you like it or not what Suyin said was true and everyone knows it except you, stop being so delusional and cry abt how Suyin humiliated Lin.
Something that we finally see in action in these episodes is just how chaotic the red lotus is. They're all crazy combatants, but they're also flying by the seat of their pants. Whatever long-term plans they may have had before their imprisonment have changed since Harmonic Convergence happened, so they're constantly shifting the goal posts as they try to find a direction toward their ultimate "righteous" objective. You nailed it that Zaheer is super spiritual. He meditates quite a lot and he knows about Harmonic Convergence. He speaks like some kind of zealot, so I wouldn't expect him to be necessarily rational even if he is charismatic.
21:20 I think the reason Zaheer appears to be such a natural is that most of the new air benders aren't warriors. At the end of the day the man was already a force to reckon with 💀👍
Exactly! The fact that he was the leader of the group even when he wasn't a bender says a lot about how good he would have been. He was supposed to be a master martial artist or something who was really disciplined, right? Makes sense he could focus his discipline into harnessing airbending when he found out he acquired it.
My take is that Aang said "The White Lotus shall protect and serve the next Avatar on her/his journey." And White Lotus went: "Ok. Got it. Confine her for her own protection."

Yeah the earth queen is a nasty piece of work haha
Love your reaction!!
Can’t wait for you to see the rest of this season soon!!!
24:28 a small village called Prison
Ming Na Wen so is Lin in a live action TLOK. She'd be perfect for her.
Zaheer is already a master martial artist, that’s why he’s a threat without bending.

Yes!!!
I love this season it's my favorite and the best season in the show, in my opinion
Great video ❤
Zaheer simply just uses airbending as an extension of his master martial arts skills.
Young Lin is played by Grey Delisle (Azula, Ming-hua), and young Suyin is played by Michaela Murphy (Toph).

The voice actress for Toph in atla also voiced teen Suyin 😊
And Azula's Va voiced Teen/Young Adult Lin
All you gotta know is Zaheer is HIM!

It’s a fan theory that when Sokka was protecting Korra that’s how he died since we never find out how he died.
Zaheer studied airbending history long before he got airbending
Ahh I’ve been waiting for this
Ms Ma'am, please fasten thy seatbelt for this season. Because boOoOoy you're in for a ride.
Awww I’m upset you’re done with this show. Season 3 is so good!
I swear I’m gonna keep going!! I’ve told myself I NEED to finish the series before the end of December!
@@CatherineLaSalle Oh YAY
Can we consider P'li also a dragon after one shoting Zuko's dragon?
Aang had nothing to do with the decision to put her in internment. he was already dead when he reincarnated into her
Are you still reacting to this?
I'm new to this channel... why wasn't this woman cast as Jasmine in Alladin?
40:10 hit em where it hurts😮😮😮😮😮
Of all the new Airbenders, why was Kaya immediately suspicious of Zaheer right from the start, huh??
“Ok cobra kai” 🤣
