R.I.P. Cedric Sharpley 🌹 Great video, Robert! He was an incredible drummer, and with the unheralded Paul Gardiner R.I.P. 🌹they created a sensational rhythm section..🌬🤍🤍🤍
I heard an interview with Ced where he said he did several very different drum takes per song, and only found out which one had been selected when it was all finished. So the drum tracks we all know and love were not the only versions Ced did. It would be interesting to hear all the other versions.
5:19 that's the same kit he had in Druid (search RUclips Druid OGWT 7th October 1975). Ced was a legend and I still channel aspects of his remarkable 'feel' to this day. Oh oops, I just played the next bit of your vid and you've covered it!
🤘🚗🤘I WAS 16 OR 17 AT THE TIME, WHEN I GOT THE ALBUM. IT WAS A REVELATION FOR ME. I HAD A MINI MOOG & TRIED TO PLAY WITH THE RECORD. I WAS IN GARY'S BAND FOR 5 MINUTE, WOW !! ' PRINCIPLE ' WAS A VERY INFLUENCIAL ALBUM, STILL IS TODAY !. ENJOYED YOUR LITTLE TOUR OF THE ALBUM. ( BY THE WAY , HAVE YOU HEARD ANY OF THE SONGS ON GARY'S CURRENT ACOUSTIC TOUR. SOME SONGS WORK, OTHERS....... NUMANHEAD FROM MONTRÉAL🚗🚗🚗🚗
Gr8 album, must put it on again soon. Thanx for ur review 👍
“Metal”’s always been my fave Numan song and again, the rhythm section’s relentless pounding really helps MAKE it an iconic song 🙏🏼

A conversation with Jess Lidyard would be outstanding. I don't know if anyone's really talked to him about his time with Gary.
Thanks!
Love This Record!
Me too my man!
