We didn't have RUclips a few years ago. I had a Craftsman lawn mower and after 2 years of heavy duty on it the carburetor started to hav problems so I try to fixed but no patience at all from me I decided to throw it out. Well someone I know pick a up fixed and used for a few more years. Lesson learned. Thanks for sharing.
You just might get the bug like I did. I started out with a 1650 about 11 years ago and I got the cub cadet bug. Now have 4 1650s. 2 1450s. 1250. And two 3 speed manuals. You might even get the bug to put ag tires on it. My one 1650 I filled the ag tires with -20 below windshield washer fluid. Each wheel is some over 90 pounds. Your release valves look good as in not leaking out the top. There was a older veteran in Ohio who was a machinist that was rebuilding them. I haven't needed any in a while so I don't know if he's still rebuilding them. It was much cheaper than buying new. I could ramble on about all the fun I have with old cubs. International definitely stole the market with the hydraulic drive system on this design. Most others all have a inferior belt somewhere in the works.
Yea, I’m into buying for necessity. I don’t really collect anything. 😂. But I can understand the fun in restoring things. I was a few hours from buying a 1650, but someone beat me too it. So I got this. Thanks fir all the info! Appreciate it.
I have a dual wheel adapter kit for the narrow set of wheels that the cub 100 comes from the factory with. I have ag duals on 1 of the 1650s. But it won't allow anything over the 38 inch mower deck. So its not very practical other than extra weight and fun. But I pull started a 4020 john degree with it. It almost brought the cub to a standstill but all 4 rear tires were digging along and it actually got the 4020 to fire up. It was already warmed up. Im doubtful it would pull start it cold.
@@CaptainBerz its a 12.5 opposed twin briggs it came out of a snapper garden tractor i got it for 150 bucks . it had a 17hp kohler it still pulls logs so it works good.
CaptainBerz managing an auto shop, I don’t personally wrench anymore, got out of the markets about the time I switched to management, almost seven years now, I didnt have the mental capacity outside of work once I switched to the office. It’s also effected my video production on here, just mentally drained.
You should compare notes with Norman at the isavetractors channel and isavetractors.com site. He has some great tear down and rebuild videos. Great video series. Cool tractor.
Head bolts were at 20 ft/lbs. so I tightened to 30, per manual. Between idle mixture screw being bent and that, I think that summed up the mild smoking.

That is awesome!
Awesome project. I picked up a 782 a month ago, and they are very good machines.
I agree. Waiting on some parts. Haha. Can't Amazon some of them.
@@CaptainBerz yeah, finding parts for these old Cubs can be hard. I have purchased a few things from mine off of ebay.
I have a 1984 d 782 diesel and I love it
They got power!
Cool video 😎 I look forward to more
Thanks for watching!

Lol. Great video. Those IH’s they don’t make them like that anymore
Yea, it’s much heavier than my neighbors 2012 Cub Cadet. 👍
CaptainBerz but will probably last longer. I just bought an older Craftsman 45 inch deck it runs like a champ. Back when they were made well
Nice! Yea, I agree. The transmission ain’t what they used to be.
nice
Well,
the mechanic didn’t say anything. So I’m good. Haha. You still in service? Or doing the stock market thing now?

I’ve seen some of his videos. Great stuff.
Check the compression.
