Greetings, I appreciate that you took the time to make this video and upload it. Especially since I’m very new to using a bandsaw and even newer to changing the blade so I was clueless on how to obtain the proper tension. So for this video again, I say thank you. This next comment is not meant as a complaint, rather a minor constructive criticism regarding your audio. It was extremely hard to hear you throughout the video but especially once you turned the saw on. Have you ever thought about using a lavaliere or lapel/headset mic ? There are quite a few on the market for around the $50 range that would benefit your audio. Lots of well documented thorough reviews posted here on RUclips. Just a suggestion. Thanks again for taking the time to make, edit and post this video.
Thanks for sharing this. I have a bandsaw with no “pointer” on the tension scale so I’m always a bit uncertain about proper tension. This makes it simple.
I definitely like this better than the other approach. The one thing that I think would be useful as a visual is putting a white piece of paper behind the blade, this will really accentuate the flutter.
Dave Williams it's a 14" bandsaw (so 14" width between the blade and the frame) and for thickness it will handle up to 6" but you can add a riser block to get an additional 6" for resawing etc.
Dave Williams don't recall at the time but it's the Grizzly G0555LANV. Which they currently sell for $555 (plus $79 shipping) but you might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere
Looks like all your guides were moved away from the blade, if so, that might be something worth mentioning, just to make sure. Thank you for the tip, much appreciated!

Thanks for the tip! I've got an old Delta bandsaw without a tension guide, been struggling to get correct tension. I'll definitely be trying this out!
Thanks Ray, will be giving this a try in the shop today. Off to see what else you can teach me this morning.

Nice, thanks for the demo and explanation!
Great tip, Ray!
I'm having trouble with tensioning, to get the bade tight enough it causes the top wheel to rub on the housing. Any suggestions?
It sounds like your blade is too long. What kind of bandsaw is it?
Hi can I ask what is the max cutting depth of your saw? I'm going to buy one soon and need advice.

Thanks, that's a lot of depth, the ones I'm looking at are less than that, may I enquirer how much money it was ?

Thanks for your help buddy, really appreciate it.
Great tip Ray. I've seen people do the opposite as you with some real scary outcomes.
Hey I saw my sticker, haha! Great video!
When I finally get a band saw, this info will come in handy 🤓👍🏼
Ryobi bandsaw is $130 US dollars. Cheap and it work for starting.
Thanks, good tip.
Makes more sense to start with a tightened blade.
شكرا جزيلاً
Very interesting! like like
top tip 👍
