  • Today I discuss a few theories I have on why I believe the LEGO Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3 is on track to be a legendary set in the future. This Ferrari LEGO set is also an amazing showcase of LEGOs capabilities and should be given a little more love.

I hope the price falls down on e-portals after an year or 2. That's what's happened with the Lamborghini Sian.
Apart from the outer shell, chassis is almost same as the Sian. Hence not gonna buy for the release price.

I was quite excited to get this one until LEGO canceled my book order. It should have never been a limited edition item. Now the book costs the same or more than the set itself.

Definitely a frustrating experience. It seemed like they weren't ready for their own launch. smh.

I have this set it is built, I also keep some of the smaller sets I have unopened to sell later on but i don't make massive extra money rather have a constant turn over than being stuck with lots of items, but they tend to be the smaller sets, the main issues with trying to buy larger sets to keep and sell later on is now the price of the larger sets, In the UK the SP3 set retails currently at £349.99 and that's a chunk of cash. Trying to get a second set and spending nearly £700 just is not realistic.
Also you look at people trying to re-sell retired sets at the moment online they are over valuing the prices. You can repeatedly see the same sets being relisted after them not selling as they didn't reach what the seller wants for them. Things are only worth what people are willing to pay, also people are currently facing a financial squeeze so have less money to spend. This will have to make people re-evaluate what they are realistic going to get for the sets or be stuck with them for alot longer than they hoped.
Just because you saw an antique toy on antique roadshow on television doesn't make your lego set that was produced in large numbers in a modern factory just 2 years ago and got retired a couple of months ago worth big money.

I agree with everything. Personally I'll always recommend investing in stocks and real estate over toys lol

My wife got one for my daughter as a Christmas gift. She wasn’t happy with it. So I might have one for sale.

Unfortunately there are two that I know of. one is an error showing how the gearbox is assembled. And two being two pieces of the diffuser are never shown to be put on.
