    First few minutes were great, but when getting into arguments against, you presented them as fact. Scenarios also change with time, such as supply/demand and price support programs. Commodity prices are super low at the moment and many subsidies have gone away.

    does anyone have the key code to cost of running a personal gas / petrol station using biofuels
    4 acres = 100 litres ( over ) 8 months etc..
    the renewabiity is questionable but roughly speaking it's 70 % renewable. if fuel expenditure is
    reviewed then a higher more efficient percentage is possible .

    I used to work in a lab that produced biofuel from algae farms. Unfortunately the cost for this process given the technology available at the time, in addition to the other potential cons mentioned in the video, made the environmental impact only cancel out, not outweigh, the returns of the traditional fueling process; which would not justify the costs of transition for many. That said, as technology progresses more efficient tools & methods would ensure that algal biofuel production is a better option than comparable fuel processes, and more importantly it would help preserve our world. I can only hope the race to restore the planet with sustainable solutions overtakes the race for self-destructive processes with higher financial returns.

    I'm all for this. not because I'm a green energy hippy, but because I like to hear my engines rev and I like to have pistons and crankshafts, not batteries and electric motors. I do not like electric cars because it's just not the same as having horsepower come from a liquid. I want to be able to have a future with car engines. I want to be able to restore my 78 chevy c10. but because people want to get rid of gasoline in the next 5 years, there's no point in restoring vehicles anymore. Gone are the days where a father and his boy can spend hours in the garage on their father-son projects. gone are the days of teenagers buying old cars and working for hours on them because it's their dream. Or are those days gone? with these biofuels out there, the dream of fast cars and strong trucks can live on, and people can enjoy what they love most about vehicles: their loud, strong, revving engines. I also think that the parts that it takes to make electric cars are more hazardous than people think. the chemicals in batteries are horrible and spills and accidents are bound to happen. Factories would puff out more bad chemicals than they're saving. I think biofuels are a great idea because It keeps the automobile dream alive and its a lot friendlier to the atmosphere.

    i see a negative point if you use corns and other crops this will make a shortage of food :(

    • @petemiller2598
      @petemiller2598 5 лет назад

      Most corn is not used for food. Most is used for animal feed, and is easily alternated with other things. Corn in particular is extremely plentiful, and there is no concern about a shortage. It would be virtually impossible. However if your scenario started to happen, price of corn would go up, making biofuels uncompetitive with petroleum, and it would self-correct.

    Bio fuels are not viable; it cost a gallon in gasoline/diesel fuel to produce 1 gallon of bio fuels there is a net loss of energy. The best way to reduce pollution is to stabilize population. Bringing third worlders over to first world developed countries increases energy and fuel use.
    As the third worlders go from using cow dung and fire wood to owning a refrigerator and a tv and a car and air-conditioning and running water, central heating, fast food, schools and hospitals their energy consumption goes way up, at least a 1000% . These are things they would not formerly have the resources to provide energy for . It is unwise to import third world low energy consumers into first world high energy developed nations where they use up more energy and create even more pollution than the native inhabitants would normally use.
    The technology to efficiently use bio fuels is just not here yet perhaps in two hundred years solar and wind will be economical on the large scale.
    Using corn a food crop to make fuel is crime and a net loss energy producer when it takes a gallon of tractor fuel to harvest the crops necessary to make one gallon of bio fuel from corn or other food crops like sugar cane, etc.
    Even hydrogen is a net loss energy conversion it takes more energy to convert water to hydrogen than it is possible to create. So hydrogen is another big flop or green pipe dream. Ocean Wave power is promising now.
    The green cause or movement for the most part is a political philosophy to convert the economic system of capitalism to the economic system of socialism both systems are flawed in the extreme.
    A realistic synthesis of both economic systems is necessary. They compliment each other if their extremes are prohibited. Billionaires and monopolies are useless on the other hand nepotism and and excessive government employees for the sake of larger big government is detrimental and destructive; only transparency keeps government honest secrets keep it dishonest and extremely inefficient.
    Corruption can only be avoided with strict and absolute transparency both of these economic systems maintain they need to keep secrets from the public consumers of these economic systems and as long as they ( government) are permitted their "national security secrets" to hide their criminal activity there will be insufficient sun-shine or transparency to keep government local, state and federal and its economic systems honest and efficient and also free of corruption.
    No one needs fear transparency except the criminals in government. So do not demand green energy from our technology that is not here yet, demand openness and transparency from all levels of government if you want technological progress and freedom from tyranny.
