I've spent the last 3 days milling up 25 pallets, sliced each slat in two. Busy with glue ups. Already got three nice planer sized blocks 1m x 30cm x 35mm. Dont know what I'm gonna build with this, but I'm loving the look. Thanks for the idea mate, lumber is so over prized ATM this a great way to make pretty and usable stock. Another great excuse to pass home time in the shop. 👍
Mahahahaaaytt!!! You may not have invented it, but bringing it to our attention is just as golden! Thank you Mark 🇦🇺👍

@@dainermade You're welcome. you are doing great jobs
I just can't get enough of these videos. Absolutely entertaining to watch as you share all these great tips. I might just start woodworking with pallets as a hobby.
Great stuff mate, love the joinery in the base really unique and solid tones of glueing surface. Always amazing how well the pallet wood table tops turn out. 😊
G'day mate , there is a picket fence calculator you can get online that will give you the measurements of the slats that you made the under shelf with, you just enter the dimensions and it tells you the distance you need to space things at ,it only takes 2 secs to do and is accurate. Cheers from Victoria mate.
This table arrived well packaged and on time. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW Like another reviewer advised, I pulled everything out and made sure everything was included (everything was!). I built it alone and it took me about an hour. The color is great and for the price the lift part works well. As others have mentioned, it’s not the smoothest opening/closing, but it works. The screws do show, but I plan to order white sticker covers if that bothers us too much. Really happy with this table! UPDATE: it’s been over a year since we got this coffee table and we still love it! It gets HEAVY use as our dining table, foot rest, and school desk. Over time, the opening and closing mechanism has gotten smoother. I added a new photo with the white screw cover stickers. They blend in perfectly and make it look a little cleaner. 100% recommend!!!
So great to see upcycling and recycling is alive and well on RUclips especially in today's throwaway world, I get called a miser for recycling whatever I can whenever possible, I'm not a miser I just hate seeing waste especially wood getting thrown out it should be a criminal offence in my view
Awesome work mate looks amazing I myself have used bunnings pallets for furniture great way to recycle came across your videos the other day and really liking what I've seen keep up the good work cheers
The dogs balls,,,,loving the straight taking lingo,,,funny as feck,,,,nice tips and techniques,, keep them coming,,,as you can see y name is dingo your probably laughing your ass off, all the way from Ireland top job
Nice, I've been grabbing free MDF from the local hardware that all their glass products come protected in, for making terrain pieces and dioramas. But haven't done anything with pallets. Might have to look into it.
If you have sam's near you get the Elmers glue for really cheap I pay 4.99 for the gallon at sams anywhere else even Walmart it is 10 to 15 dollars a gallon! It is just like wood glue but white and dries clear once you cure it boom great to hold. And most projects are covered in some kind of poly or lacquer anyway. Your joints look great! I'm gonna have to try them!
Love the videos my man! You are helping me alot with the inspiration and starting my own pallet wood projects. I dismantled a EU pallet but it feels impossible to glue flush since it is so stiff. but it's fun and I learn alot! :)
This is probably my favorite build ever, lol. I have watched this nearly 50 times. I have pictures of an end table I made using this style of build, would like to show you but don’t know how to go about that. Side note….. I’m a tight ass too, I don’t use Kreg screws either 😂
Hey Mark, I forgot to tell you that I’ve been working with pallets since I started building small furniture and have learned a ton of new and awesome ideas from you! Such an inspiration to try new things and make old ones work better! Thanks for the videos and keep up the amazing work! Also I sent photos to that email and hope I did it right. Cheers!
The more of your videos I see the more impressed I am each time. You could sell custom furniture like this for alot of money or I'm thinking worktops and glued timber boards made from scrap timber, not just pallets. Your future could be glittered with gold
Sorry, but my Language Cop streak pops out every now and then. ALOT is A lot is words. Cheers! I hope you can finish your 3rd grade English class this year. Perhaps you could do yourself a favor and buy a dictionary, and then try using it daily.
@@perindneI'm so sorry but sometimes my "get a life" detector pops out. How about you go get a life and not correct such a minor and pointless error. Nobody, absolutely nobody on the internet wants or needs comments like this. Especially on a channel that is about learning. If this is the kind of comment you feel you need to post maybe find a better meaning to your life. 99% of the time I'd say reading is good but maybe you should actually STOP reading dictionaries daily and find out what people actually use as conversation topics. If you are the kind of person who corrects other people at a party I will be impressed they actually invited you and it wasn't a group message with you accidentally in it.
@@dainermade Well done mate, your teaching others to use this typically disregarded timber with some really nice creative pieces. Very impressed with what you have managed to achieve and the waterfall edge is my favorite. I do think you should value this work more and get a store, or sell on a creative platform like Etsy for a decent and fair profit. Great work!
Hi I’m impressed so much I might have a go at this, please can you detail all your equipment, saw table, etc, as I will need to purchase these. Many thanks from UK
Awesome inspirational video. Thank you. One thing I wondered about? Around 2:12 you cut the ends off, before you send it through the thicknesser. I probably would do it after to kinda use the ends for the snipe, or??
Bloody awesome. Just starting my journey with making stuff with pallets. Just done my first laminating. Going to upcyle some old bar stools with laminated wood from old pallets. What brand of wood glue do yoy rdcommend.
I would like to keep in touch with you and trading ideas. Good on you Mate. I was in Sydney in 1968 as a brief brief from the Viet Nam war. Take care buff.
Awesome work! And I’ve got a question… what kind of glue for the joints you use?? I work in carpentry like you… and I can’t find a good glue for wood … thanks for sharing this amazing work!!
nice video mate pity you cant grow a PVA glue tree the glues expensive nothing wrong with your glued joins better than seeing a screw head or plugged up hole great work
Hey Mark! Big fan of your videos here. I was wondering, when you glue up the boards face to face like that, do you need to account for wood movement when you attach them to the legs / frame? I see that you use those figure eights in this case, but any experience from other tables? I'm just getting into these sort of glue ups, and in my research I found that the expansion seemed to be mainly across the width of the boards.
@ I admire your videos sir, keep up the amazing work!, imma start dabbling in building things from pallets, goal is to earn some extra cash hopefully, though my tools are limited, though I think I’ll be able to cook up something 😇
Been without a living room table for months in my new flat and this is the best design so far, just the ticket for this weekend's project.

Worth chucking it back RUclips, nice piece sport.
thanks mate!!!!
Love the new joinery mate. It makes a huge difference to the piece of work, how it looks, etc. Great build this coffee table..
Like the new technical term ‘beat the snot out of’ sums up the process nicely.

Awesome! I like how you’re using the tools you have, not buying every tool out there.
That is an eye-catching table. Great use of pallets. Well done 👍
Amazing video sir, great workmanship…
Greatings from Brazil. Great work! Really awesome to see that built from recicled wood... Inspiration to us all.
Love this channel. Really evolved into quite a character.
You are a hard worker mate. Nice designs and videos. Keep it up dude.
Seriously appreciate your videos! Trying to make a go of pallet wood woodworking myself. Keep up the good work, friend!
I like this table very much
Very Nice Mark. Those bigger pieces were a nice score from bunnings ! Nothing like free.... and you have 3 of them to 'browse' from too!
Absolutely beautiful

good work considering a job site saw. I'd use sharp rip blade if I were you
Um belíssimo trabalho, parabéns. Fortaleza, Brasil
Check square, check square, check square, check square, check square, check square, check square, check square, check square, check square, check square, check square, check square.
What about for the bottom shelf joinery, if you cut the wood at 45 and only a corner off the vertical beams, that way you dont have an end poking out?
Dude.!? What happened to save'n on shave'n.!?
Table looks fantastic brother.!
Nice
Question for all I’m on a budget but idk if I should get table saw or thicknesser first

I love watching your videos, I learn a lot. Do you schematics, drawing and measurements for these builts?
I liked the joinery on the table base. Something new and very neat. Why did you not color the base? It may have given a better finish.
Have you had any problems with the lumber separating over time because of the high moisture content from wood that has too much moisture in it?
That is an incredible table and I also don’t like using the Greg screws I’m also a tight arse 😉

Hi. What is the varnish you use at the end to make the tabletop wood pop? Thanks. Great video.
nice video mate pity you cant grow a PVA glue tree the glues expensive
nothing wrong with your glued joins better than seeing a screw head or plugged up hole great work
wish he put general dimensions in the description but great design...

Expansion is across the board. It just good practice to consider any top on any frame. Cheers
Looks nice! But did you check it for square? 😉
What’s a good finish for a table like that to show its character??
Hey brother if the glue leaks out the sides is that normal.
Hey mate enjoyed the video, just wondering if you have a plan or drawings with figures that we might be able to use as a guide ?
How much do those weigh on average? It sure is nice. Thanks for the video.
Beautiful indeed, was that top level? Looked a little while wonky when you applied the coating
thanks mate, the end result was level.
