Thank you. This is the second time i had to open my laptop to the motherboard and back. Your tear down guide was excellent and lifesaving reference for success. Thanks again 👍
Thank you. I'm still loyal to this thing. It's been with me for 9 years or so even though I poured red wine over it lol May "live" on forever with a little upgrade.
Thanks a lot for this video. Just one question: Is it possible to get to the fan/cooler for cleaning without removing the keyboard, just by opening the back cover? Thanks in advance for the answer
Hey, nice video! I have a Thinkpad e560! It has a below average screen resolution of 1366x768, I was looking to upgrade my screen to a full 1920x1080. im basically buying a screen replacement for a e560 model that is FHD, and replacing it with the screen on my 1366xx768 model. Both have 30 pin connectors, do you think it could work out? I I noticed from the video that your e555 is pretty much identical to my e560. Your thoughts would be very much appreciated! Thanks!
@@ThePCgamewalkthoughs They come with both HD and FullHD displays, so an HD version should be upgradeable to FullHD, as they were completely configurable on the lenovo website.
I have the exact same laptop but it is a 2core i love this laptop and want to marry it LOL but in all seriousness is there a way i can change it from a 2 core to an 8 core or 9 are is there no boards for that???
Hello, very nice video but I am not in need to open my E555. However I need your help. How to use the CD??? I would like to use it to watch some movies but I cannot open it!!!!! Boring. Pls would you mind to help me to know how do I need to do????. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for your answer, I have check but there is no button on the dvd drive also into the the computer I do not find the DVD drive for the eject. Is there any other solution??? Thanks
HELP!!! 14 Min in you say you forgot a cable...which one??? I have the same problem. The motherboard wont come off because of one cable but I dont know how to remove it. It says AATE1_DC-IN Signal_Cable on it and comes from the power supply and is attached to the motherboard. Please could you tell me how to remove it? Thank you!
like any other cable you have to plug on it to remove it. what is it that you that you need. watch the video again and tell me which part of the video that you have having issues with as i can see my video point out where the cable i miss is
Hey! cheers for the answer! My problem is that I couldnt detach the cable because it was taped to the connector and even after peeling that off a bit it didnt come off. I didnt wanted to use too much force because I was scared to break something. Unfortunately it is hard to describe the connector. I think you point on it at minute 14. It was metal and there was kind of a "tape" coming out of two slits on the top of the connector . It had two ends which where stuck together so the formed kind of a half circle over the connector....I hope you know what I mean..haha..:) Unfortunately this cable prevented me to remove the motherboard. Actually I wanted to clean the fan and put new thermal paste because my laptop gets hot. Didnt want to criticise your video. Its great and helped a lot! Thank you!
Idk if you’ll respond but my motherboard stopped working randomly and I could not find my model mother board and only found one with better specs. Looked like same size but had discrete graphics and an i7 can I use it or do I need to get my model motherboard
OPEN ME UP ok thanks for the response has exact same screws and everything but my question is the laptop before had an i5 and the new motherboard has an i7 would that cause some problem or should I just go for it?
@@christianhernandez5037 no it does not cause a problem. they made it like that. the only difference between i5 and i7 is the CPU but the board is exactly the same.
@@christianhernandez5037 no it will work fine. now you will have a GPU thats all. so on the low end model they dont add the GPU so they can save money therefore sell it for a low price. for your old motherboard if you have the equipment to soldered you can just add the GPU and it will work.
CPU is solder on, graphic card is solder on, ram can be changed to 16GB max with 8GB in each slot and there is 2 slots, wireless card can be changed, and hard drive is a 2.5" inch.

Hi, great video thanks. Could the fan be replaced without removing the motherboard? Just the fan - not the heat sinks.
you need to remove the motherboard but not the heat sink

if it fits in and the connector fits then it will work.
That's not a good idea because your laptop was designed to work decently on the resolution the screen came with.

if the dvd drive does not show up in my computer then there is an issue with it. it might be faulty or not connected properly
Thank you for your help. I think my laptop do not have a CD driver

I'm having the exact issue that you described.
I think it's called DC -IN signal cable. It's wrapped in grey tape and taped with black on the ends. It's an unusual cable that Ive never seen before

Is E555 and E550 have the same LCD EDP Cable?
should be they look like that have the same layout and use the same case
What the maximum memory I can upgrade ? I have E550 (20DF00EDUS) Intel Core i3 5005U (2.0 GHz) 4 GB Memory . Thanks
