    I really appreciate your videos. I am an infantry veteran looking for a new hobby and ive started to look into duck hunting. I am in the panhandle of Texas now. I have reached out and tried to meet new people and get started, but the only folk that respond are guides. So, I think I’ll start with a guide. A couple questions. What do you do for ticks? Do you treat your clothes with permethrin? For a beginner shotgun. How is the Franchi affinity 3 elite? Any advice on getting started? Gear? Looking to learn, but haven’t found any one to take me under their wing? Haha I guess you could say, I’m going into the Blinds, blind. Ok, I’m done.

    • @HokeOutdoors
      @HokeOutdoors  4 месяца назад +1

      I appreciate you watching them! Typically ticks aren't an issue for me, but I would think it's wise to be cautious of them and chiggers early in the season down in Texas. Permethrin would be your best bet to keep them off, I assume it works on chiggers too. I think the Affinity 3 Elite would be a great option for you. I'd easy to handle, clean, and should be a very reliable tool for you. Given your background I would think you'll probably take a lot better care of yours than most would. Some things that I think would be valuable to invest in would be quality waders, a motion ducks system (or any kind of jerk rig), and an OnX membership. Beyond that, it's mainly just about spending time in the field and learning the behaviors of waterfowl. I really hope that helps and if you have any other questions feel free to reach out on Instagram if you have it. I'd be happy to try to line a hunt up together if I make it down to TX this season
