Challenge Video: Artificial Intelligence and digital tools for pest control in vineyards​ | AVIPE

AVIPE’s core business is on grapevine consultancy. It supports about 4000Ha from 250 farmers at the Setúbal Peninsula in Portugal. Its main activities are related to integrated pest management, irrigation, fertilizations, training vineyards and investment project implementation. The main challenges we face today are virus and trunk diseases, the usage of satellite images and remote data, irrigation techniques related to wine quality, biodiversity protection and the reduction of pesticides. AVIPE runs a demo farm where tests and essays are used to demonstrate and involve farmers on new and challenging activities. ​
This challenge is a part of Hack2Change - the first-ever Hackathon hosted by the E³UDRES² European University Alliance.
