Oh my god, the nostalgia of this video. Uploaded EIGHT years ago. I used to watch this when I was still playing emerald and walkthroughs weren't that much accessible yet
I used Absol and Grovyle; Absol swept their team with Shadow Ball, while Grovyle finished off Claydol, Lunatone, and Solrock with Leaf Blade. The dumb Xatu kept using Calm Mind while I picked off its compatriots one by one...
This battle was so easy last time I did it it ended in 2 turns, my milotic(lvl45-46) used Hydro pump on Claydol and 1 shoot it, Shedinja(lvl46) used shadow ball and 1 shoot solrock, hydro pump again on lunatone and also ad 1 shot and finished the Xatu with a single shadow ball, no crits and they only used a single calm mind before they lost.
As someone who chose torchic as my starter this fight IS THE HARDEST FIGHT EVER First i need to level up my beautifly a lot cuz they have earthquake and bug type is effective against psychic.AND ALSO HAD TO EVOLVE MY POOCHYENA FROM THE START TO BEAT THESE TWINS
Exactly they are VERY hard to counter if you choose Torchic. Water and Grass types work well but with Calm Mind they can raise their Sp. Defense and make your hits less effective. They are a pain in the ASS 😂
My team was: Absol lvl 43 Swampert lvl 43 Exploud lvl 43 Breloom lvl 42 Camerupt lvl 42 I had no problems. Swampert and Absol owned them with Shadow Ball and Surf.
@RoyalPaynne I started another too cause my game sucked lol my new party is: Manectric lv 33 Gardevoir lv 33 Gyarados lv 33 Absol lv 34 Blaziken lv 38 Vibrava lv 39 a few of my pary know thunder as well as bite, I plan on evolving my vibrava before i take on this gym and levelling up my absol as high as i can. it knows shadow ball so i think il be fine. do you?
@Xtornado3000 Fire? I can't think of a fire type that's super-fantastic, but I'd say you've got your selection: Camerupt, Magcargo, or perhaps Torkoal. I'd personally recommend Torkoal the most.
I remembered having no trouble battling against them. I was a Swampert-Starter before and no problem at Surfs. I completely forgot my teams since I just overleveled my Swampert. I repeated playing Emerald again and this time, I picked Treecko. My teams are balanced in level currently so, I am excited.
is slaking any good in the battle frontier? I know it has truant, but if it's powerful enough i think it can do good with OHKO's if i give it a choice band and some good teammates to back it up?
@RoyalPaynne ya right now i have a better party, i've beat the last two gyms and caught rayquaza. my weakest level now is 40, im thinking of adding bagon to it since i just caught one. the changes i made was replaced gardevoir with rayquaza and levelled everyone up.
@stanleyschannel hmmmm id strongly suggest getting a gyarados or any other water pokemon, surf and hydro pump is what saved my ass in this battle. or if your up for the challenge of finding him, an absol. i found mine in the grass on the right side of the town with the flying gym and the houses in trees (can't remember the name)
yeah give them alakazam and gardevoir so they can hurt us even more? that is a good suggestion but really solrock and lunatone are tough enough how about grumpig?
is it just me or am i really falling behind in lvls. My team is: lvl 39 Kadabra (stinks that I can't evolve it I lost the link cable) lvl 39 Sceptile (one of the pokemon that creamed these twins) lvl 38 torkoal lvl 28 corphish (just caught him with super rod and have the exp share on him) lvl 38 swallow lvl 26 trophius (hm slave not training him at all) how are everyone's pokemon in the 40's? @sar1bear for this gym, i honestly think you should train your Gyarados instead of Vibrava, just for the type advantage, I suggest just training all your pokemon up past 40
I need help beating these two. My team is as following: Blaziken-41 Breloom-40 Hariyama-40 Armaldo-41 Swellow-40 Dustox-40 (Before you ask, I only have 3 fighting type pokemon because 2 of them didn't start as fighting types)

you should get a skarmory instead of swellow. it was helpful in the beginning, but swellows just aren't nice this late in the game. and get a water pokemon such as ... lombre gyarados etc.
better than most since you can trade that is i had to use some weak alternatives like gardevoir but it's better since it learns calm mind naturally plus it seems to have more def power than alklazam and it can use electric attacks it should be electric and psychic cool type eh not even used yet!
My style of this match- Use Mightyena and Blaziken first. Blaziken wipes Claydol out with Blaze kick. However, Blaziken died due to Xatu's stupid Psychic. Lunatone comes out. I take out some slaves, and also sacrificed my Walrien. Since My Mightyena is only Level 32 and even though his bite hits but the damage Is SHIT, I decided to use Odor Sleuth. Then, they attack me with physical attacks. However Psychic does not hurt Mightyena at all. When they have used up all their PP, the use struggle. I
Funny how everyone agrees that these two are like frkn hard. My pokemon were lv 38-40 when I battled them. Vibrava, Pikachu, Breloom, Swelllow, Swampert, Wailord (Tank Slave). Gawd, my Swampert was the only one left in the red zone when I was done. D:
Beat them easily with my team Sceptile-42 Swellow-41 Dustox-40 Zangoose-39 Larion-39 I only used zangoose for its attack and larion for iron tail. Sceptile saw some action with giga drain once but thats it.
This is definitly the hardest gym to complete...Btw ice beam is gotten for 4,000 coins at the Maulive game corner and I got destroyed at this battle before I got Altaria and Gardevoir level 50 and just trashed them about. Lol.

i had a swampert, challenged the gym, AND OH MY GOD WHAT THE HECK IS WITH THE LEVEL JUMP
Same i chose blaziken too and this gym is so freaking hard
Lunatone and Solrock sweep is very funny solrock never used solarbeam or flamethrower
“14 years ago”..
Best of luck! This gym in Emerald was always a pain in the ass for me, too.

Yes, you must defeat Tate and Liza to continue the storyline in question, because without the Mind Badge, you cannot use Dive except in a battle.
What's up people watching over a decade after this was released
its a good game
When I was a kid This Fight was so hard that I end up catching 4 wobbuffet with destiny bond 😂
Thumbs up if you thought Tate was a girl until you watched the anime... :D

Blaziken- 44
Breloom- 40
Mightyena- 31

swampert makes this game easier because of how op he his, an overleveled swampert is dangerous.
But imagine if swampert is somehow slower than a grass type pokemon and it uses razor leaf
is slaking any good in the battle frontier? I know it has truant, but if it's powerful enough i think it can do good with OHKO's if i give it a choice band and some good teammates to back it up?
Used a max revive and had to get my ass carried by Mightyena, but I did it first try somehow.
you can buy Ice beam at Mauville's Game Corner
Or find it in the abandoned/broken ship
Yes I know it's 12 year old but idc

I think you can find a water stone somewhere in the Ship near dewford town where brawley is. also if you find a blue shard you can trade it in for a water stone somwhere near MossDeep city
@sly741x Sounds like a good idea, actually.
I still haven't gotten my last party member, and that'll probably work out.
One psychic on my level 57 Blaziken in this match killed him
Should've learned protect. It was a good move.
@scarredk0
haha nice choices dude! I'm obsessed with the dragon type, i freakin love gyarados and garchomp lol.
so basically you just need powerful water and ice pokemon? ok i'll use my gyrados
What happens if you only have one Pokemon for a double battle.
If you have one pokemon they'll refuse to battle you unless you get at least another one
If you have one Pokémon, they won't battle you as they battle as a team so they chase you out with broomsticks.
You lost with a mightyena?
