I did alright without removing the motherboard, which was one less thing for me to screw up if I tried to remove and reconnect... ha

I was able to replace the battery on my still much used iPod 6. Thank you for that. Only thing is I didn't appreciate was how small that soldered connector was. I think if I knew that in advance I might not have attempted. I'm just glad I was just steady enough not to destroy the soldering. Frankly that, for me, was a crap shot.
