YES!! I've followed Zenos' for a while now and looked forward to someone official driving it for all that time... and it has happened, and it is as awesome as I was hoping :D Zenos cars, you'd better be here to stay!!!
Very cool concept. I'm hoping to see more companies and cars like this lightweight/low power/low price/ big fun in the future. We finally have the technology and efficiency in production to sell them at reasonable prices. Very encouraging for the car world
aaah, this is where you are wrong my respectable friend. Didn't you know that the British don't mind getting wet? you'll find blokes driving their open top vehicles in a thunderstorm without complaining. I think their bodies are resistant to hypothermia.
It reminds me of Racer X's car in the Speed Racer cartoon of the 60's. I know this example is a prototype, however, I hope they choose to use something other than the flat-black paint currently on the car as it seems to attract dirt and smudges. It'll be interesting to see the finished product.
Quite a car for the price point. Thumbs up. And that prototype he was driving will obviously be cleaned up, but they should keep the shift linkage exposed like on a Pagani. But a car like that for that price, definitely a nice creation.
"The E10 is imported to the USA market as a component car or what is known as a roller. It will not include the engine or gearbox and those will be installed by the car owner (or the car owner’s shop of choice). The car will have all the required parts to be road legal (check with your state to be sure), similar to many other component built cars on the road today. In the end, it will have a license plate like other cars."
They could be on to a winner if it is around £25k when it comes to market. A lot of these track day toys like the Ariel atom and xbow have just gone into a stratospheric price range. At the end of the day these cars are all about fun and you'll have no fun at all if you can't afford them. I think Zenos have a good chance of success.
I think they're be on to a winner with that, looks totally different, the X bow might look better but it's also a lot more expensive, at 25,000 it should sell well that's if they do sell it for that
Not only did the narrator answer that question within the first 45 seconds of the video, but it is also in the first sentence of the description............
Will they have to install a couple of heavy-ass airbag systems and numerous other nanny products on the finished product? It will probably weigh a tonne when it is launched.
I think the steering wheel will have one but I think that will be it. When you look at the finished spec it's as it is really. Even Caterhams have practically nothing so I would expect a similar match.
mazdaman1980 Because the caterhams are based on an old homologated design, they aren't bound by all the safety regulations. It's basically a super 7, so they use the type approval and homologation for that. This is a new chassis and homologation, so they will need to meet the current crash and safety standards.
Lenny Grey Just to clear things up guys, the car can be specked with a windscreen as an optional extra for roughly £1000. There will be no airbags purely because of the weight saving on not having them, with a full safety harness airbags are also unnecessary. I can't think of many other small sports cars in the same market with airbags.
Harry Goossens not really that much more. The ability to shift quickly and easily would be great on this car. The manual just seems like a pain on this car.
MrLalasd I doubt this car is targeted at the same market as say the BAC Mono. At sub £30k this is more of a (albeit space age looking) sunday blast/track car that would line up against people in Caterhams. All of that said, there is something satisfying about heel & toeing down the box with a manual that you can't get from a paddle auto.
MrLalasd I disagree completely, having attended the driving event at Millbrook last month all feedback about the gearbox was 100% positive. It is a drivers car and a double clutch just takes away from what Zenos and their customers want in a car...
Mate no one cares. It depends on what your after and I'd say this would be more of a track day car than a daily, so in saying that I'd think you'd be mad to pick an m3 over this.
ruskeee you're right. It's silly trying to compare the two cars. Absolutely nothing in common between the two, beside the fact they both have 4 wheels. but then, so does a Mclaren P1 and a toyota corolla.
Not a fan of that shifter. What's the point of the leather, if there's no console under it. If they were truly anal about losing weight, they'd remove that too, and have it show all metal. I like that look better.
It's a prototype so the centre console cover is missing. The fit and finish of this car is not up to manufacturing spec yet but the set up is complete hence his driving it. Maybe pay a little more attention.
I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to explain why I didn't enjoy this review of Chris's...I edited and re-worded several times.. I present to you, the best possible comment for this video. Meh
To all those mud-brained haters, saying "ooh, it looks crap," watch the video again and pay attention to what Steve says. It's a PROTOTYPE! They are still testing it. A Jaguar XJ220 prototype was masked by using a body of a Ford Transit. Judge it when it goes into production. Because this beast has some chances. With Ansar Ali leading Zenos, their rivals should watch out.
mazdaman1980 I have. Very capable chassis if a bit twitchy at the limit and a bit dull when you're not. Soulless engine. Can't hear anything but wind. Heavy flywheel, too.
YES!! I've followed Zenos' for a while now and looked forward to someone official driving it for all that time... and it has happened, and it is as awesome as I was hoping :D
Zenos cars, you'd better be here to stay!!!
Seen our story on the Zenos E10 S yet? We drove the standard car around Brands Hatch a while back...
Very cool concept. I'm hoping to see more companies and cars like this lightweight/low power/low price/ big fun in the future. We finally have the technology and efficiency in production to sell them at reasonable prices. Very encouraging for the car world
I recently drove the E10S and I'm head over heels in love. What a beast.
always a pleasure with a review by steve
Why of all people are the British obsessed with vehicles that do not work in their own climate?
aaah, this is where you are wrong my respectable friend. Didn't you know that the British don't mind getting wet? you'll find blokes driving their open top vehicles in a thunderstorm without complaining. I think their bodies are resistant to hypothermia.
Would like to see these in a racing series like the Clio Cup! Hopefully here to stay :)
It reminds me of Racer X's car in the Speed Racer cartoon of the 60's. I know this example is a prototype, however, I hope they choose to use something other than the flat-black paint currently on the car as it seems to attract dirt and smudges. It'll be interesting to see the finished product.
That liscense plate though. E10(WOOOW) "in Jeremy Clarkson's voice"
i like the way it looks, not to mention about the concept of lightweight openroof sport of course.
It's unusual looking, but I think I like it. Perfect cross-fade at 5:00 as well.
Look forward to the turbo test drive on the production release
Short sleeves in October, in the UK and in a open sports car? Are you nuts??? :D
Thats because in the uk thats about as warm as the weather gets got to make the most of it lol
What helmet microphone do you guys use? sounds really clean!
Only 25 grand? That warrants a test drive.
Really liking your new helmet Steve.
Erm.....lol
mazdaman1980 im serious lol
Ayrton Atif Awkward.
detaart why 😕
Ayrton Atif the helmet on his head? or the other helmet?
650kg = 1430lbs.
£24,995GBP = $40235.66USD
Quite a car for the price point. Thumbs up. And that prototype he was driving will obviously be cleaned up, but they should keep the shift linkage exposed like on a Pagani. But a car like that for that price, definitely a nice creation.
No offense, but the comment about the chassis is just stupid. CF tubs ARE CFRP tubs. One and the same thing
Wow! Not only does it have just about everything you want in a minimalist sports car, but it's cheap AND beautiful?
Will it come to the U.S.??
The only thing that I don't like about the car is the design, but I guess that it has an amazing handling.
It needs a deflector screen. It needs a coupe body option.
I own an elise and use it as a daily driver. I wouldn't want to run this E10 as a daily, but i sure wouldn't mind owning one as a toy!
Imagine this with a hardtop and a little more power....if it's as comfy as the driver says.
zubayr bhyat Not a fan of the looks myself, but it sure looks like something new.
Bring this to America, screw safety regulations
It is coming.

Does anyone know about the vuhl 05?
I think they're be on to a winner with that, looks totally different, the X bow might look better but it's also a lot more expensive, at 25,000 it should sell well that's if they do sell it for that
The rear highly resembles that of the Aston Martin CC100 concept.
For what it costs, if they make better some thing, it would be a real contender in this segment
really liking the price point
It would be cool if they made a coupe version
Looks nice
Are there more cars that look like this?
KTM X Bow, Ariel Atom, just look up track day cars.
***** THE XBOW IS CRAP.
Vulh 05 resembles a lot to this car
this is almost exactly waht im looking for, ill take the ecoboost thanks :)
25 thousand! Sounds like a fantastic value.
amazing, how much is it?
Not only did the narrator answer that question within the first 45 seconds of the video, but it is also in the first sentence of the description............
It has no doors?
maybe they should have added a wind shield?
Looks like a Stormtroopers bedpan, goes like the Millenium Falcon. Speed with a sense of irony then, what's not to like?
Will they have to install a couple of heavy-ass airbag systems and numerous other nanny products on the finished product? It will probably weigh a tonne when it is launched.
Of course not.
I think the steering wheel will have one but I think that will be it. When you look at the finished spec it's as it is really. Even Caterhams have practically nothing so I would expect a similar match.
Price is right, at 24,990 if it can be on the road that's madness. Would pay an extra grand for a windscreen though
mazdaman1980 Because the caterhams are based on an old homologated design, they aren't bound by all the safety regulations. It's basically a super 7, so they use the type approval and homologation for that.

really like this car it looks very cool :) they should put the 310 hp (231kW) 2.3 Turbo from the Mustang in the Zenos then it would be very quick :)
That engine would be too heavy but I like the thinking. Surely the Audi 2l T would be better or dare I say the New a Nissan 40kg, 400hp engine.......
The E10S will have 250bhp and I assure you having 250bhp in a 650Kg car is more than enough!
Harry Goossens the ariel atom 500 weighs less than 600 kg and has 500 hp. and still there are morons who tune the engine further lol.
They did it not long after, the e10r did have the 2.3
Looks like miata (mx-5) 2016 that just got unleashed. I like it though
Cool machine...
They should look at using a Volvo Drive-e power plant for the top model...
well how wrong can a closing statement be?
Needs a double clutch gear box. Seems like a pain to shift.
Unnecessary weight!

Will Baker I guess so. But, if you want a hardcore racing experience you can not get that with a manual anymore. It will just slow you down.
anyone else see some resemblance to the caterham aero 7 concept
That gearstick with the leather flapping around is unacceptable.
It's a prototype missing the transmission tunnel cover. Do you really think they would leave it exposed like that! Doh
Looks very kewl
The headlights look like Mazda's MX-5 tail lights. O.o
Needs a windscreen option.
I agree and if it gets one, I'm in!
It's still a prototype. 😑
There is a windscreen option. Check the website.
so it's basically a cheaper lotus 2-11. which means it's fucking awesome!
As Top gear mentioned.. its better to have a M3 instead. It's more of a complete car; u have a roof, boot, u can take the kids to school, etc...
Mate no one cares. It depends on what your after and I'd say this would be more of a track day car than a daily, so in saying that I'd think you'd be mad to pick an m3 over this.
apples to fucking oranges
ruskeee you're right. It's silly trying to compare the two cars. Absolutely nothing in common between the two, beside the fact they both have 4 wheels. but then, so does a Mclaren P1 and a toyota corolla.
rear lights remind me of the Ferrari F12
Man, if I where to buy a car, it be this.
it would be better to learn how to fucking spell first
Ide take one of these over that stupid Polaris Slingshots any day.
YOU KNOW THE SPEEDOMETER IN THE MIDDLE IT LOOKS LOKE IT CAME FROM THE BMW I8
Caterham for me any day
I love Caterhams too but why do you say that?
Not a fan of that shifter. What's the point of the leather, if there's no console under it. If they were truly anal about losing weight, they'd remove that too, and have it show all metal. I like that look better.
he's driving a prototype car.
mkz24 True. They aren't going to add weight though, are they? :/
***** oy...bro
It's a prototype so the centre console cover is missing. The fit and finish of this car is not up to manufacturing spec yet but the set up is complete hence his driving it. Maybe pay a little more attention.
Seriously? That's what you're nitpicking about? It probably weighs a few grams!
I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to explain why I didn't enjoy this review of Chris's...I edited and re-worded several times.. I present to you, the best possible comment for this video.
Meh
The last sentence didn't age well
Please lighten the flywheel.
opel logo
Looks like it's designed by a 10 year old and held together by chewing gum.
Your name says it all
Johnny Wrong so agree with you
mazdaman1980 Never heard that one before. Ahem.
So you've heard it a lot, well that's something to think on for you.
mazdaman1980 No. It's really not.
Doesn't really have the soul of the KTM, Ariel, Lotus or Caterham for me.
The KTM has no fans once they have driven one and you can't say that unless you have driven it can you?
mazdaman1980 I have. Very capable chassis if a bit twitchy at the limit and a bit dull when you're not. Soulless engine. Can't hear anything but wind. Heavy flywheel, too.
I was just going off looks, I haven't and probably never will drive any of these.
Zenos Vanoss?
Not sure about the looks tho..
Stop with these no windshield cars!
If im going to look like a burke driving a car like this on the road, it should look nice. It doesn't. Very doesn't.
Please don't use that name in Spanish speaking countries...
Looks like crap. I'd rather have an x-bow .
I think it's supposed to drive better than the X-Bow which has few fans for driving characteristics but I agree the looks are not as good.
for double the price, sure...
too expensive
