In addition to introducing a gizmo to do frequency separation with a click. To download the gizmo, follow the link below and look for the "Frequency Separation":

P.S: A reference to the image that was used in this tutorial wasn't found at the time. Please provide a link if you know the source.
Your videos are great man, Idk why you don't have as many viewers but you're awesome man. That "AE to Nuke migrate" tutorial is awesome.
Thanks, Pranab. It's really nice of you to say so :)
good one Cubichead.....
Shiva Krishna Thanks :)
we support u for more subscribers....... 🙋
this doesn't work. follow this tutorial over and over again. when I place the roto in as a mask, nothing happens. I cannot see what you do differently from what I do and I get nothing where I see what you get. thanks anyway.
Sorry to hear that, maybe some of the default parameters of your nodes are different than mine, for instance your default mask setting is set to a different channel :-? Otherwise, I am using vanilla version of nuke and if you follow my steps exactly one by one, you should end up with the same result
Thank you!
i found your gizmo , but it is not working under nuke 13:((
Ohhh, I will try to update it for N13! Probably some of the nodes have been changed
how to download frequency separate in free version
In the description, there is a link to “tools” in my website, just go there and in the second tab you will find a download button to get this gizmo for nuke.
Super🎉
hi very usefull technique, can u show how can we do it in after effects?
Good tutorial. What studio are you working
VFX France Thanks! I am a digital compositor at MPC NY.
And how to this in sequence..in moving face ?
Ganesh Waghmare you just need to add keyframes to your roto
thanks a lot man
great tut maziar, keep it up
Eagle Vision Thanks, Eagle Vision 🙂
tks a lot ! very helpful in Digit-Make-Up ! ;D
Thank u Very Much
🙏🙏🙏
To remove all that spots in a video footage you don't think it'll produce a blurry effect and loose all of texture details?
Note: it's just my opinion
tauqeer ahmad If you just do the first step of this technique, yeah! You will end up with a blurred and smooth surface. But if you continue adding the whole setup, you can bring back the details, which in most cases it starts putting back the grain, then small details and then big ones.
amazing plz make more tutorials you r awsome love and enjoy learn nuke wid u 💓💓👍plz create sterio roto in nuke tutorial thanx
Sir I beg to request you can you please make a tutorial over how to make digital double over any de- ageing tutorials over a old person to younger look .. but under the situations while the charecter face while the face is deforming too much ?? In Maya and Nuke Hi sir myself Rony an VFX student from Arena Animation kolkata
brother lets sparks, you teach us basic to professionalism in nuke... please upload more tutorials....... 😉🤔😊
Snake & ladder thanks Snake. I’ve been super busy lately, but definitely I’m planning to do more. Your comment for sure made me more motivated to get back to producing more tuts!!! :)
Bring back the original 10%...looks too clean
the initial image was much better
awesome
Kamran Moshfegh Arani :D
Спасибо)
When I try to make a roto for the second blur it has no effect (the whole image stays blurred). When I check the roto seperately, it says: non-existent channel used for mask. What am I doing wrong? :S
Charley van der Krogt Did you make the default roto node? The shortkey for it is "O".
Charley van der Krogt If so, and still you r getting an error, try this, I'm not sure if it's gonna work in youtube comments, select ur roto inside Nuke, copy it [CTL+C] and paste it [CTL+V] here in a comment, so I can check it out.
He Cubichead, I sent you a pm. Thank you so much for your quick response and help!
You're probably trying to plug the blur into the roto as a mask, which by default will be looking for an alpha channel, which the original image doesn't have (hence the error). You need to plug the roto (which creates an alpha) into the blur's mask pipe.
you are amazing , can you do more videos on nuke
Manikandan c.v Thanks Manikandan, I’ll do my best to have more frequent tuts on Nuke. One actually is on its way about the concept of channels and layers in nuke and multipass compositing :)
hi, is it possible in After Effects?
ivancoart Yes, it's possible. The concept just needs to be translated into AE; blur a footage, define the difference between the blurred footage and its original form, then add that difference to a new blurred footage.
could you explain it in a more detailed way? I don't know how to "define the difference"
I know 2 ways of fr.sep. in PS, but don't see neither High pass filter, nor Apply image in AE...
@ivancoart @Cubichead Guys there is already a tool that helps in AE. Check out awesome tool from Mamoworld for that does it for you :) mamoworld.com/tools/skin-retouch
why the smart people on nuke has to be other than caucausian?
Luis Macias :))
Sorry wrong object. Freckles is beautiful and retouching them takes the personality away.
What's going on with your accent then? You change it like 10 times!
That's an interesting thing to notice, I guess I was taught English by a variety of ppl.
freckles = human
MilesBellas I totally agree, but that’s not the point of this video, don’t you think? The point of this video is to demonstrate the effect of this gizmo, and I just found freckles to be something that covers most of the skin, so I can retouch it.
P.S: I personally do like freckles and wouldn’t retouch it at any costs ;)
Cubichead
it's not the point in terms of technique......
the technique has many applications.....
:D
In terms of cultural psychology, production and direction motivation it is the point.
MilesBellas Okay, in terms of cultural psychology, I’ll do my best to research more about the contents I am going to use in my future tuts so they won’t have negative impact on ppl’s behavior in the society. Thanks for pointing that out Miles! :)
Cubichead
It's your prerogative what you choose.
It's the same debate with Photoshop and magazine covers.
