I saw this video for the first time when I was in Vancouver BC with some chicks and we had a hotel at the Comfort Inn down the street from the community college and a couple of blocks from McDonald's. The chicks went out for the day, I switched on the tv, saw Much Music TV for the first time given that I'm originally from the States where there is MTV and we had never heard of Maestro and straight got excited seein' Maestro rappin' on rooftops. Loved that Canadian Maple Leaf and sports Jersey.
yo man I feel ya, I am just now realizing how good 90's hip hop and early to mid 2000's hip hop was. I grew up in '91 and I listen to my rock and my heavy metal like Ministry and Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Cancer Bats. But yeah I love Maestro now, and the old Kardi, Choclair, Saukrates, Ro Dolla stuff. I was listening in 2003 and then I went back to rock, and now I am listening to Jeru the Damaja, Kool G. Rap. So yeah tastes can change, no need to be too ashamed, just bash bad talent, not the scene.
@Maxmulham That's cause this is HIP HOP, my man. I barely made the window. I was born in 1983 so i was in middle school during the Golden Era of hip hop. But I got into it and it changed my life. It's never to late my dude. get into NOW.
I grew up HATING rap music. It seemed to be a cliche of lyrics describing sex, women, flashy cars, and mansions with a heavy presence of auto tune and not much actual instrumental music. Just un-natural. Then I discovered something before my time (born in '95). The hip hop I missed out on. Boy did I miss out. I still hate rap these days and probably always will but I think this type of music will make a comeback for sure. I'm just praying.
