Iraqi soldiers seem far more advanced than their Afghan counterparts. If that bridge building exercise happened in Afghanistan, the minute the Brits turned their back,the ANA would have sold the metal for scrap.

Indeed. I am an ethnic Afghan/Pashtun living in Pakistan and this what I observed throughout the documentary that the Iraqi officers seem very professional and army like. Whereas the ANA acts like its still a tribal militia not a professional army.

Though I never believed the invasion was right or legal its a political matter, but what matters now is that british personal continues it's professional approach to the mess that is Iraq in 2018. I hope all our serving men and women make it home alive and finish the job, we owe that to those that have fallen in battle..

I'm pretty sure there are special forces on the ground in both syria and iraq, but these guys would most probably only see action now if they were attacked.

There were plenty in the 80s/90s.
I was in Taji in 2005. There was literally TONS of dangerous chemicals that could have been mixed together to make both chemical weapons and weapons of max destruction. Taji was also home to "Chemical Ali".

I stayed there it was a big place but man those poor guys on the towers got hit all the time , we had a Mechanic get hit a sniper fired the round went right between me and my buddy hit this guy right center mass his breast plate man he wasn't required to have it on but it saved his life !!
