Thanks for the video, just finished my job. Your video was awesome, but it was tougher for a person that doesn't do this often than the video might imply.....A couple of points for someone getting ready to start this.... getting the 12v "cigarette adapter" out of the center console was one of the toughest jobs (ugh)....make sure to leave yourself enough slack up front when running your harness to the trunk.... when using the Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Module
there is a chance that the wiring is reversed to what the video and Axxess says on their website (mine worked fine after reversing them)..... the plastic brackets with the 95-8215S dash kit didn't line up perfectly on my 2007 Avalon Touring, had to break off the little plastic alignment pins that should locate the brackets on the side of the radio and wing it to get the unit aligned properly in the dash.... if you're using a backup camera and this Pioneer unit, be sure the plug the yellow camera "video output" into the brown BC input....to keep from scratching the vinyl areas around the dash while working on the install use some blue painter's tape to protect it and take it off right before final installation. Took me about 8 hours total and about a half pint of blood from skinned knuckles, but it looks nice now! Good luck.

Great video, I installed a backup camera on my Avalon, there's a better way to plum the wires, remove the rear door sill you'll have access to the trunk by the shoulder area, that will bring the wires directly to where you hid the original stereo, so you don't have to run the wires on the trunk floor

To add to it, I figured one thing out
Instead of the whole old radio
Try to take off the top cd drive part and front and just use the bottom portion where cables plug in
This simplifies the unit and you will be able to fit it behind your new radio along with that long cable 😃
I installed mine like this and the climate screen works perfect and no need to run cable to trunk and install old radio there.
Feel free to ask questions directly if you have any!

@@alicen4550 just remove all the screws on the unit, it will start coming apart

And now it should split in two single din units

Thank you for such a great How-to video. You definitely answered a lot of the questions I had.
I have a 2006 Avalon Limited with JBL Synthesis and factory navigation. You may not be able to answer my question as the vehicle you worked on didn't have those options. From what I understand, I won't need to relocate the factory head unit to the trunk, and I should use the PAC RP4.2-TT11 instead of the Access AWSC-1. If that's correct, do you know how the factory multifunction display will be affected? I don't plan to use factory navigation or the factory radio info setting once I switch to an Android Auto compatible head unit, but I would still like the HVAC, vehicle maintenance, and distance to empty/fuel consumption displays to work. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
    Cheers

Well, if you have the JBL system, the factory amp will retain all speakers. Generally speaking, if you have the factory JBL amplifier, you will need to Use the PAC RP4.2-TY11 Wiring Interface.

I have a 2007 Avalon Limited with nav and subwoofer. It has an additional 6+6 pin harness that plugs into the back of the factory headunit. I removed the factory 6+6 pin harness in order to plug in an eBay bluetooth adapter to the back of the headunit. With the bluetooth adapter installed, I press the "Disc" button, the display reads "Aux" and the bluetooth audio is routed to the door speakers, but audio is no longer being routed to the factory sub. The sub is still powered. If the bluetooth is connected and the music is paused and I turn the volume way up, a faint hum in the subwoofer gets louder, but otherwise no actual audio signal is being routed to the sub when music is playing. Same with FM or any other input, no audio is being routed to the sub under any circumstance with the factory 6+6 harness disconnected.
I bought a 6+6 pin Y-adapter cable, so that I could simultaneously plug the factory 6+6 harness and the 6+6 bluetooth adapter into the back of the headunit via the Y cable... this made no difference. It still works as if I only have the bluetooth adapter plugged in. The only way to restore audio to the subwoofer is to remove the bluetooth adapter and plug the 6+6 factory harness directly back into the headunit. Then the sub works again, and obviously bluetooth is gone.
Is there a way to have my bluetooth/aux input and factory subwoofer work at the same time?

The only problem I have noticed is the the FM reception is not as good as it was with the factory radio, I would say 30% less. I only used the bigger antenna plug and let the small one unhooked.
