Air conditioning CAN affect the voice. I remember Aretha, if I remember correctly, has been know to not want the air on when she performs. WHitney had issues, she smoked and had lung problems that all could account for her change in voice however, I appreciate her talent despite all her issues and struggles, she was a live performer!!!! She could have done like sooo many and just lip synced!!! It would have been easier on her but she kept it real and live!!!! She had been known to perform very sick too!!!! So lets not get too critical!!!!

I went to all three concerts and she was amazing... Not as good as early years. She sings with more passion now. It was the best nights of my life. I took some friends with me that are not Whitney fans and they both love it!!!!!
She surely had some issues. I have watched her videos for years, she was a shinning star to me and always will be. I hope peope will always love her as I do, nd that othes on drugs will get help. Yes. I know I heard a story where her mom did an intervention and said your legacy won’t go down like this or something to that effect. I think she would have wanted the intervention to be about anything but her voice (her legacy) and only about concern about her as a human being thru unconditional love. Even Oprah asked her why she didn’t take care of “the voice the American treasure” or something like that. I wanted to tell Oprah to love her first and the voice 2nd.

@crazeechiq Love to hear this from someone who was actually there and heard it for themselves. These clips are only snippets of those concerts and though some complained many stand and screamed encouragement. NO ONE can deliver a flawless performance every time and live shows are different than vidoes/albums anyway. She still owned that stage just for being Whitney!

This was just a simple thing of what the Lord give he takes back. When she got on drugs using obviously that combined other things TOOK her voice. But all the Lord did was call her home and GAVE it back to her to use in a more devine worhtier place.

@simonsteam the messed up thing is though even sick with respiratory problems and whatever else she didn't cancel and it was probably due to the huge criticism she took in the past for cancelling shows. Back then was for drugs and personal problems, but she probably worried if she cancelled people would ASSume that she was back on them, just as they did while she struggled through performances with respiratory problems. There are other performances during this time that she was great

She has made a triumphant comeback to show the world after all that she's been through and put herself through, she's still standing. She doesn't deserve to be treated like this by the media. @GinaGeeILuvu - You are right on! She was supposed to sing at Clive Davis's pre-Grammy tribute to her the night she died. I bet she was terrified at the thought knowing she probably wouldn't be able to deliver. Shame on Clive for asking or agreeing to her singing that night and putting that kinda pressure on her. They could've asked her to kick back at the tribute and allowed others to sing her songs as a tribute.

So sad, the drugs have taken her greatest gift God gave her. Hopefully she can get back to vocal coaching and training and get it back.
@pathetic321 exactly. A concert tour is what has ruined her brilliant comeback. The poor woman shouldn't have been pressured to do so much after such a serious addiction.
If she wouldn't feel so pressured to prove her "new" self after Bobby, then she could give her voice the rest it needs--whether or not that's indefinite, is her thing. She's done enough for a lifetime.

@driftingdrought - If a person is half black it's not really more inappropriate to call them one half of their ancestry than the other unless they specifically object. Mariah has been called "black" and "white" by various people and hasn't complained about either.

@driftingdrought - We would only know if she's more Irish if we did a DNA test. Even though chances are her father is mixed being Hispanic doesn't mean he is definitely mixed. Hispanic isn't a race. But most African-Americans are mixed as well. Black Americans are about 18% European on average.
As for her looks to be honest I could tell she was part black since I was a kid. She didn't look pure white to me. When she revealed that to the public most people haven't called her white since then.

She had the total package, and she fell in love with Bobby Brown . I don't know if he was the root of her drug addiction, or if he just snowballed it. Doesn't really matter now.
A woman who had it all; a voice like an angel, looks of a princess and the respect of a queen, and enough money to live happily ever after, and in a flash, it was gone.

This literally points out that she'd been ill... how do people know that it hadn't caused her damage.. (I know she had addictions before anyone says and that could have contributed, plus the fact she sang so high, surly that can cause damage over time). I don't care either way, I still thought she was a brilliant person and singer, she had issues as so many people do, we all have our own ways of dealing with them.
I think her record label should take some of the blame,why would you put an artist on tour who sounds like that let alone one who is known as The Voice.
The media does seem to delight in Whitney's troubles. The poor woman perhaps was a bit rushed into coming back. Sje should take a nice long break, rest her voice and then work on getting it back in as good as shape as it can be in. Maybe it won't come back at full capacity but it can certainly be better than it has been lately. I think some of the problem is that it's been so long since she recorded or did live performances that she maybe wasn't ready for a major concert tour.
Why did they make her so this tour??? She needed to rest and get herself back in shape for herself.
