Ableton Live's "textures" warping algorithm can accomplish a very similar effect by lowering "flux" to 0 & adjusting the "grains" setting, which you can also automate!

  • @nkogliaz

The Akaizer is missing one thing those time stretches had, they were being roasted on the samplers inputs and that gain helped bring a lot of character harmonically in the stretches, I still use the akai s2000/s3000 sampler for this function for breaks, other than that, the plugin will get you damn close, great vid, respect.

    • @adamsmith7058

So, for this I use Akaizer to create the audio then process with a combo of either Tal Sampler, Tal DAC, or RX950, into Fabfilter Saturn or Blackbox. You can approximate some classic sounds pretty well. Nothing replaces my old Emu E6400, but this gets real close and there are plenty of advantages to in the box methods.

Dude this is so sick, I've used many slicing plugins but this one sounds great.
I'm trying to produce more neuro minimal stuff right now, but I bloody love amen fills just at the end of the phrase. I've used ring modulation to really make the amen ring like a bell. It's weird but cool. Thanks for your vids mate.
Also I'm experimenting with a bass station ii, sampling bass sweeps with manual filter cutoff, or automating with an envelope controller. Also you can input audio through the analog filter section, and mash up breaks and synth leads.
Do you use much analog stuff, think it's worth it? I can hear a nice midrange crunch when I resample through the filter, sounds nice on high leads like old c4c style.

Sounds a lot like the detuning capabilities on the Electribe ES1! I usually sample the break into the ES1, set the BPM to 170 then manually tune the break so it fits the time of the loop. Pretty oldschool but produces a really cool metallic sound! I haven't noticed it much on the MPC2500 (I guess I'm usually slowing stuff down on the MPC!) It would be cool if you could automate the cycle length of the Akaiser for build ups

I have an entire Ableton project with a drum rack for playing live jungle breaks....completely updated to OS X Catalina and now that project won't even open with that specific 32-bit plugin....So frustrating. I thought the 32/64-bit plugin bridges would work. Nope. Please, help get this to a 64-bit version?

Problem is it’s not 64 bit so doesn’t work with updated Mac OS. There is a similar effect now in Logic Pro with time stretching but it’s not the classic original

It’s a proper pain in the arse that it only comes in 32 bit

Really cool but man I wish there was a version that I could run on my MacOS :p ( Catalina 10.15.7 ) Gonna try out Dinosaurs Hunters advice listed below using Ableton Texture in the meantime. Thanks again tho dude!

@@STRANJAH I lost an entire project with a playable drum rack of custom breaks to do live...it won't even open with the damn plugin in the project. I updated to Catalina thinking my 32/64 bit bridge would work...nope.
