The boom extensions on our farm's sprayer take a lot of abuse bouncing across our rough fields, and when they broke this most recent time I decided it was time to build new ones. I wanted to keep them the same general design, but was hoping I could remove some unnecessary components to make them a little lighter.
I used to design sprayer booms for an ag company in the Midwest. Very interesting to see a farmer like yourself work through issues and do some fabrication.
You are one of the very few channels I have kept notifications on for. Thanks for all your great content, Justin.
Amazing shop! Amazing artists, engineers, farmers, workers everything...kickass and pro!
I remember when Justin was just a bachelor with a dog building all sorts of stuff and farming. It’s been a long time that feels so recent
Same. I’ve seen him get at least two haircuts lol.
On the nozzle guards, might think about welding on a bit of flat plate with a bend at the front so that if it hits the ground it is likely to ski across it rather than dig into the ground. Otherwise, cool project. Well done.
Some people put 1 small leaf of a trailer leaf spring on the end to act as a skid and a spring
Iv seen someone put a 12in wheel off a kids bike as well
So cool the way different people fix the same problem in different ways using what they have. Problem solving masters! I AM impressed!
@@fowletm1992 the leaf works really well but it has to be mounted to the main boom rather than the breakaway.
Yessssss, favourite youtuber back again, the Instagram's gone and I thought you'd packed up shop. Videos help get through another lockdown here!
I love all your projects, but I especially like anything to do with farming. Your earlier vids are my personal favourites. Oh, and the barn build. Not asking for change, just sharing a fans own opinion. Keep it up, and thanks!
you must be a very handy guy to know for local farmers! everyone needs their own blacksmith! i love the charity, “everyone is dealing with something” such a cool way to get men to realise mental health is normal.
I come from a family of farmers and ranchers and what you did in this video is what they refer to as the school of "Make do U" because buying new stuff is usually too costly and generally not as well made. Awesome job! Always nice to be reminded of where I came from!
It always seems that you are creating all these useful things freehand with no sketch or picture plans.
While I have no interest in the n being a farmer, I find your video’s fascinating. The ideas you come up with, the processes you use to create and the final products are all just very cool. I am also impressed by the diversity of your videos. Whether it’s building a barn, a creative and beautiful lighting fixture for the barn or a new tailgate for your big truck, I enjoy your videos!!
Happy to see you back, I was worried something was wrong so I am truly happy to see that you are back again and hopefully all is well with you and the entire family plus your furry friend of course!
I was thinking last couple videos he's had a slightly different energy. Hope everything is OK. His usual spark seems a little dampened. Maybe it's just the stress of covid? 🤷♂️❤️
Finally!!! I’ve been waiting for a new video for so long!!!! This just made my day!!!!
I know you have a day job pretty much, but I just wanna say thank you for making these! They are so enjoyable to watch!
I missed these farm projects. Hope you and yours met 2021 with good health and many doggy head pats. :)
I could be wrong, but I think that cable is intended to keep the extension in tension and maybe act as a bit of a damper.
you have no idea how happy i am when you drop a new video Sir.
always good to see you.
cheers.
Bienvenu Justin. you're back!!! i've been rather sad not to see your progress on your van and anything you do. i hope you and family are doing well. cheers
Your parents could be Happy to have a Genius Like u.
Greetings from Germany 🤗
Daaaamn that rainfall projects sign looks great!
I guess the barber shops are closed.
Samurai Jason!!! Good to see you back.
Great video Justin!
With all that BLUE equipment you must be a large contributor to the Sam Flande retirement fund .Your videos are awesome.
Looks like another beautiful sunny day in Oregon! Cool build, and was excited to see another video from ya.
That's not a portal axle... THIS is a portal axle. I am jealous of your tractor's 4WD ground clearance!
So cool. Thanks for sharing! Miss your videos.
Very nice work! Glad to see another video from you. Barn balcony updates?
Where have you beennnn? Thanks for the new video!
even though i'm sure it would be nice to have people around to shoot the shit with, i really envy how peaceful your workflow seems to be. the algorithm brought this vid to me, but you're making me wanna stick around, earned my subscription for sure! keep up the good work man!
I'd like to suggest next time when you have to rebuild those arms instead of cutting your square tube to size first leave it as one piece and take a hole saw and drill your holes on the edge of the box tubing first then cut it to size, that way you've already got the curvature to match the steel tubing. It would save you time on having to use the plasma cutter to cut all the notches in it.
That would make a cool daily driver! Just needs a camper on back! Nice work!!
we should celebrate farmers like sports players.
Why should anyone celebrate sports players. They are just overpaid spoiled brats.
Love your creative side as well as your equipment side. Wish you would post a little more often. Just askin!
Still won’t try the magnet at the end of a pole to get parts out of the metal skeleton. We used to use that at the fab shop on our laser table. Worked great.
Finally a new video. Been waiting so desperately for this!
Nice build. We posted this video on our homemade tools forum this week :)
you are an amazing craftsman.
Stoked to see another video!
👍 from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 .
thanks for the video .
Stay Safe !
Glad you made a new video.
Love your build videos
Hey, thanks for finally putting out another video. Nearly forgot about you, sorry
Could you do a second part of 11 winter jobs?
Nice work and well thought out as all ways mate.
I'm super intrigued with your siphon feed spray attachment at the farm shop. Any details about that?
You rock dude.
Good Job👍👍👍
Young man, you need a haircut.
Good program!
Long time no see
Great video! Been a while, hope everything is good.
What do u run for gas on your welder
Funny how you grew some hair and almost stopped talking like a robot.
Confidence booster for sure
I was hoping to see her in action
Mate do you take intern??
Honestly. I like the building videos, but I would like to see some more farming videos. Its been a while.
I've been away. Could you tell me if the field in the background is planted in trees? and what kind. Thank you.
That hair is LOOOONG!
I hit the like button so that you can afford to go to the barber! Ha, pretty please.
Dang, haven't been here in a while you get a new mic? Voice sounds a bit different.
Let's see some 4K video

On peut dire que vous êtes un acteur crucial pour l'humanité tant sur le plan alimentaire, que sur le plan de la santé. Avez vous pensez a investir dans des fond pharmaceutique?
You can’t go this long without posting
Didn't even recognize you with the longer hair.
where is your dog :(
Need some lipstick to go with your hairband there...
So much unnecessary work, such an unnecessary video. Just patch the old ones, dude
Welcome Back Stranger. Nice to see you slowing down in life to give us another peek into a Farmers Busy Life. Enjoyed it immensely keep up the great work and will look for another one as soon as you are able. Hillsboro Oregon Gerlach.
This channel is ASMR for me. I really appreciate it! If you guys ever want a place to stay and a guided tour of the Great Ocean Road in Vic Australia, hit me up! ✌️
I want to see the dog!!!
You have one of the coolest shops I've seen in a long time. Always enjoy watching you work on a project.🇮🇪
@Rainfall Projects Great Video Justin. Are you still using the Cannon 70D or upgrade? The video quality looks amazing.
Last week I was wondering if youtube had unsubscribed me since I hadn’t seen a video for so long. So happy to log on and see this! Happy New Year!
Please post more videos, thanks :)
You are the epitome of "if your going to do something, do it right" that's you in a nutshell
Hi
Another great video! Thanks!
Seeing you work that UHMW for your sprayer reminds me: The original manufacturer of ‘change row-width on-the-fly’ sprayers and detasseling machines was Modern Flow. Those machines used UHMW lined square steel tubing with another piece of steel tubing telescoped inside. The UHMW was bolted from the inside using counter-sunk, FH, SHC screws. Any burrs or other imperfections on the exterior of the inner tube were removed/polished. The end of the inner tube was given a big, polished chamfer. The whole thing was then liberally greased. Let’s see here, smooth, greased steel, on slick UHMW. Hmm 🤔 That’s got a coefficient of friction approaching a banana peel 🍌on a wet, tile floor. If you want to discuss further you can pm me or here as appropriate.
Be well & Best regards, Gottfried
Been awhile since we have seen some fab work love it keep it up
What? No Drake!
Where is the dog?
where's Drake?
Great video. Glad you are back. Hope all is well.
Damn... video is over! Can't wait for the next one!
Got 8 to 10 inches of snow last night. And Rainfall projects video pops up on my phone. Bonus day!!
1 more reason not to shovel snow!!
As always, you're damn talented.
Very hard to focus on what you are doing because the shop behind you is second to none. This has always been a Top Ten shop - We get lost looking at the details in the background. Sometimes I wanna say " Can you pan the camera over please"
So happy to see another video up - this is my favorite channel hands down and your work is really inspiring for me to take on more and more within my own farm shop. Well done on the build and the video too! Cheers!
Hello I know you have 2 avid machines and used them a bunch. I'm getting ready to order one and was talking with a few other CNC companies and they said it you frame is not welded steel it will flex. Have you seen any things like this with you CNC router set up? Thanks
I always saw these things bouncing along in the fields near where I would hang out in the summers when I was little. They always looked so precarious. No wonder those extensions broke, but that's a fine fix that I'm sure will last!
Farm boy engineering... Love it.
What ever happened to the van build?
Thanks for the video! Great content across the board. Are you and Drake still on Instagram?
Hello, love your videos. What kind of paint sprayer do you use? It seems to work great.
Can not tell you how hard it’s been waiting for new content!! Love your stuff!!!!
Did you consider building these out of aluminum? What made you decide to use steel?
Good to see Corey Taylors Brother is back into Metal(l) fabrications.
It's amazing to see your progress over the years. You really became a farmer engineer 🔧
Nice little vid. How are the rest of the family member(s)?
How do you get out of the sprayer once the booms are all closed up?
no snow? and welcome back, missed your fab videos
what the hell with that truck its custom or i dont know please some one tell me..
Where is the final reveal of the studio?
Sweet flow!
excellent job
🇧🇷 🇧🇷
Yaayyyyy you're back! Jeez dont leave us waiting for so long next time mmmk.
