Holy crap, more than 40 years into it and Steven Tyler still sounds freaking flawless. Guy is inhuman.

Ive been in 5 bands, always wanted to cover this song.
its impossible unless you've got Steve fucking Tyler,
this song blew guns n roses away before they existed.

Being from Boston area Worcester aka “Wistah” the Bad Boys from Boston played everywhere & anywhere up there. I’ve seen them live 3 or 4 times in the late 70’s & early 80’s

awesome song. Kicked my ass when I got "Rocks" back in 1976 and still kicked my ass just now.

The song’s main riff was written by Joe Perry on a Fender Bass VI, which gives the song its distinctive “growl”. Brad Whitford plays the lead guitar part. “Back in the Saddle” also features one of the heaviest and noticeable bass lines by Tom Hamilton.

A teen in the early 70's Aerosmith lived in my area south of Boston and that's when they blew up from great songs like this one.

the song is impossible to sing so awesome job Steve
He knows the original studio version is a vocal tour de force. No one can go near it.

That's funny. I saw Chuck Berry in St. Louis when _he_ was 63 ('85, I think). That was killer, too. He told everyone to come up on stage and dance for the last 3 tunes. The bomb!

Wow...they NEVER SOUNDED BETTER here! The importance of Brad Whitford is very evident here. If you listen closely, you'll soon realize that Joe would be F-ed if he didn't have Brad picking up all the "backing guitar" slack and all those little familiar hooks and licks on this particular song. They sound better than ANY 1977 performance here, I can tell you that! Very nice.

    • @Stevejoohee

No doubt. Joe is a very loose player. A bit of slop if you will. Without a solid rhythm section why bother. His riffs are killer though

Tabacaru Mihai i went to see the Stones on their Zip code tour in orlando and they filled up less than quarter of a football stadium. Makes you wonder what happened🤔. I mean im sure the stones at once had a crowd as big as Metallica did in moscow in '91.
