Sadly, if you know about these things, Ravel is highly likely sociopathic (given his troubled upbringing). The impulsivity, inexplicable self -sabotage, inability to consistently listen are great indicators. The point is having genius talent doesn't mean you automatically you have a fantastic mentality. Ravel is who he is and it just needs to be understood / accepted - good or bad.

As someone with severe adhd i can say that im lucky that i had good people around me in my teen years, without them i would have probably ended up either dead or incarcerated. Having a diagnosis like adhd is never an excuse for whatever shit you do but it sure explains alot of why you end up in situations that a "normal" person would understand is bad. Try to remember that its after all is a disability, its not a character defect and although you can treat the symptoms with medication and therapy the core issue is something you are born with :)

One is a victim of circumstances because one choose so. Everyone, rich or poor, violent or non-violent is a victim of circumstance. What we do with the given situations is what sets us apart. In my opinion, Ravel Morisson has no excuse for not succeeding. As harsh as it may seem.

    • @VelvetMetrolink

It doesn't seem harsh so much as moronic. If you really believe that the children of millionaires are "victims" of circumstance in the same way as children who are trying to concentrate in school having not eaten in a few days and having had a few hours sleep due to being the primary carer for an addicted parent, I suggest you give it a try. That example is from real life. From kids I have worked with. According to you, they chose that.

As someone with adhd who in high school was just starting to get medication, I was explicitly told by doctors that I should give up on the prospect of going to university, because the environment would be too challenging for me to succeed in. They were almost right but I have since graduated, although I need to get back on the medication for the other reasons stated in this video and more lol. I feel for this guy, I wonder if he would've been allowed the medication, what kind of player he would have been.

    Hey Tinashe,
I love your videos, I love the music, I love your style. You have a great way at presenting yourself, and editing the videos.
However I feel recently you have spread yourself a bit thin…
You still do a great job, and you are posting a lot more than usual, but I feel videos like this fail to reach the depths and analysis I’ve seen you achieve (the video about Son being considered in the same bracket as Salah being a case in point as one of many).
I appreciate you want to get as much content out as possible, but don’t feel like you need to appease us on a regular basis.
You’re great, just be you. 👍

I bet nobody stopped to look into his home and personal life until he was on the verge of the first team.
He probably disappeared after training day after day, and no one at United had a clue where he went or what he did.
Maybe its about time clubs who sign children to their academies take more of an interest in the childs all round life as well as their football.

Incorrect. At that time, Fergie and co knew EXACTLY what his young players were up to.
But you can’t always control people you know.

@_Tricky_ you can kick them out of the academy if they're refusing to accept help and change. The threat of that might actually make them change

just look up u-17 wold cup teams who got 1-3 from the last 10 years and you will see barely anyone of these players got to be a great player.
doesnt matter how talented they are the step between youth and adult sport is massive so if you cant take that step you are somewhere in the semi professional leagues at best

Used to see Ravel round Warrington, one time just randomly running through traffic on a rainy day when he was technically injured when contracted to a team in Mexico.
The guy is just... A total unknown. There's talk of him having an IQ that is technically rated as "stupid" and below 50. There's talk of him having oppositional defiance and Autism/ADHD. He seems to have straightened himself out now but he was robbing phones from senior players in the changing rooms and all sorts at our absolute pomp under Fergie. He was barely raised nevermind being raised right... Ritalin definitely is not a PED though and is a clear exception, that's a false story.
One thing is for sure, at 14/5/6 he was above Pogba, Keane, Evans, Lingard, all of them. By a mile.

The ADHD and the background of poverty can explain some of the behaviour, but assaulting his girlfriend and threatening witnesses with bodily harm is rather behind the pale. There are numerous stories of kids growing up in the barrio or the projects or overcoming the misfit between cognitive diversities and the ethos of the modern system. One thing missing was hearing from him. Did he ever even feign contrition?
That said, it is a tragic story, and the fact that ADHD meds are not allowed seems pretty ridiculous. I know that many of the ADHD drugs are counter-intuitively stimulants there should have been a way to get pharmaceutical treatment without violating WADA.

Thats like saying "funny how everyone who commits suicide seems to have depression, what a coincidence" things lik e ADHD make young people more likely to be compulsive and not fit in with society. Not that everyone with ADHD is like that ot its an excuse just is more likely.
