A tripod, or monopod to minimize camera shake helps. gradual panning, and judicial zooming only when zooming when it provides essential information all contribute to a well-done video. Exactly... damn near 12 minutes, and he barely did anything. I wonder how long it took to tear this building down, because at the rate it was going, it would've took a year.
I've taken down 6 foot thick bridge piers and dams that are way thicker. I could have half that building on the ground in 12 minutes. Don't take out the floors, take out the supports and let the weight of the floors bring it down. My foreman told me that when I do a demo we could coast thru the rest of the job. Knowing how things are built really helps when you have to take them down.
Great sounds, wish they still used ball in London like they used to up to the early naughties
He should let the ball do the hard work and save the cable from abrasion and snagging.
I'm only the film guy, know nothing about that stuff.
I love the unique sound of glass breaking! Thanks 😊👍
Nice to see antique means of doing things still in use
Must have been the cheapest way.
I suppose either that or maybe they couldn't implode the building for some reason
I like a nice crashing ball ;)
That old crane has a 6V71 Detroit in it!
Did not know that.
Could have been a WHOLE lot better if he held the camera STEADY, and STOPPED playing excessively with the zoom!!

Too bad they prefer to tear down a beautiful example of sheer sixties architecture, instead of give it a new lease in life.
Truth.
I am shaken and well stirred...
One of the first times using a zoom and the puppy I was walking was not happy about the noise.
I agree about the zoom, mostly not needed in cases like this. Glad you happened upon this and was able to share with everyone.

The camera operator sucks. I had to stop barely into it because of all the motion and not seeing what was happening. Really bad.
One of my first videos, more testing the new camera and the puppy pulling on my arm made things worse. Shame, I know.

I almost got car sick from the movement. He needed a tripod or something to keepthe camera steady.
