Academic flying is much like masturbation; It's way more fun to be doing it that sat just watching so, folks, bear with. Academic flying acts as the foundation for all the fun stuff. If you have full control of your airframe in all aspects of the flight envelope then, what other activities you're employing whilst flying become so much easier because you're not actively concentrating on what your hands and feet are doing during critical periods such as contact with the En.
With this in mind, practice and study of the most basic of skills, such as circuits is incredibly important. Managing all aspects of this process whilst maintaining the appropriate amount of SA: including - the airspace around you, what's occurring below you on the airfield, managing your altitude, airspeed, rate of decent and position in the sky, the OH6 also requires you to manage the N2 Governor and maintain that in the green.
I hear many times over on Eagle Dynamic's Discord that DCS is a simulation not a game. Yet, it's far more common to see players of this "simulation" fly like it's an arcade game. Just an opinion of observation - Of course, each to their own. Enjoy !
