FOMO.... Retired at 55 as i may have said in the past and have a bucket lisr of places i kind of need to visit... I lost 6 friends over several years and none of them reached retirement age. The fear of missing out on my dreams almost a reality with no interest and missing out on them before its to late and my numbers up.... Not a comparison to seeing Sting by any means.... But FOMO 🙏 another good one Rick 👌
Hi Rick, yep i do have Fomo at times i must admit, depends on what it is if you get my drift ! As i have gotten older my outlook has changed, i now do what i want to do rather than follow the crowd. I dont even have face book or insta so in that respect i dont have Fomo , lol. And yes it is liberating. Yet again a great vlog and interesting subject. Take care 🙏.
When I was younger I definitely had FOMO. You wanted to feel part of things. And sometimes this put me in some uncomfortable situations. I then discovered my own mind and it is so liberating. In fact I quite like my own company.
I used to have FOMO in my younger days Rick without being aware of it. I just had to go to my local pub every night of the week (and in the daytime/afternoon on weekends) because I really thought I would be missing out on something if I wasn’t there. The pub was quiet with hardly anyone else in there on weeknights but I still had to be there the next night just in case I missed out on something. It took me a good few years to get out of this habit.
Thanks Rick watching this has made me realize how miserable a person I've turned into as I think just like you. We only have one life make the most of it before it's over.
Haha, It's not about being miserable, It's about prioritising how you want to make memories. You don't need to be a sheep, you just need to carve your own path and believe in it. Cheers Murray
I’ve seen 911 years ago at Butlins 😂 I was more excited than the kids 😂 I would defo go to see Ed Sheeran next year though Rick if you can get the tickets 👍🏻 I’m sure Shelley would love going to see him too 😁
I’ve never heard of fomo and never had it Rick, most of the once brilliant 60s, 70s and 80s acts in my opinion are now past it with a few exceptions and the cost of tickets are ridiculous, but my daughter bought me and my wife tickets to see Jeff Lynne ELO concert and it was fantastic
Quite agree with you. I would be like you, thinking about the cost involved in a lot of cases not worth it. We all have that fear of missing out but as you grow older we get over it. Go to Holland and enjoy making memories there.
Just had an email from Butlin’s say who they have on the replay weekend in Skegness for March so far and it’s 911 and the one we are booking for September has Five 😂😂😂😂 BTW the present you bought your parents was a terrarium
Listening to you speak reminds me of my husband lol. He prices everything up whenever I suggest anything to him. We do nice things but we don't have the sort of spare income to just do whatever we want , when we want. I don't really get FOMO nowadays I'm too old and boring at 41 😅😂 Good video as always Rick xx
A lovely video Rick and a lovely walk .I think your right to spend the 350€ on your trip to Holland .I think when we get older we know how hard it is to earn that money and so we learn how to spend it wisely .I thing it’s maturity Rick .it comes with age .thank you for your time I hope Shelly is feeling better she was very sick yesterday .take care you two xxxC
It's a matter of spending your hard earned money on what you really want and not be so influenced by the hype maybe. We like a guitarist Joe Bonamassa but tickets to his gigs are 'off the charts' expensive so we don't go. We get flights to Tenerife instead!
FOMO - with age I think you think more before you spend hard earned money ! Yes I’ve spent money on live concerts in my younger days, three times the Beatles- plus most of the big names of the sixties and Seventies. The costs today is huge logistically to go to big venues in Manchester and London . We need to miss out to allow us to go on holidays to our favourite places. Are you getting old Rick?
Ed Sheeran - maybe Shelly wants to go - she did ask you Rick. Even if you have seen him, go with Shelly for her maybe? Then next year you can indulge your plans for Holland together. (Just saying 😂)
A thoughtful video as always mate. The opposite of FOMO can be a life of caution & boredom. Personal taste counts for a lot though - I would go to see Five or 911 if it was free but Sting? a genius for me. Agree with you about Ed & Gladys. (bonus question - who played Bond in the ‘Gladys’ Bond film?)
Good video rick and talking about concerts and memories, i searched for tickets to Beyonce for the wife and daughter years ago in Dublin but it was sold out so i booked 2 tickets on the O2 in London bought flights and hotel stay so they would get their joy and memories, it was quite expensive to do,now i would not do it as couldn't justify the cost so i get what your saying but they went and enjoyed, tge killer was the fecker added an extra dste in Ireland 😂😂😂so shit happens ,who would you go to see if they arrived in Tenerife Rick 👍👍
I am the same rick i never want to follow the crowd and i always try to think for myself, a lot of people like the idea of the next "experience" whether it be concerts or the next food fad but i go NAH no thanks like yourself 👍👍.
I wouldn't say I get FOMO but earlier this year ,me n t'wife went to see Motley Crue with Def Leppard. Now we've seen Def Leppard before and they were brilliant, but I saw Motley in the 80s and they too were brilliant. My wife had never seen Motley, so I thought I would treat uss both to a night out and see them both. Motley Crue were not worth the money I paid ,but Def Leppard more than made up for it and I'm glad we didn't miss out. Depends really how much of a fan you are, a casual fan ? I'd miss out. I'm not an Ed Sheeran fan so I'm looking forward to missing out on that one 😂
Tenerife absolutely is its own world and that is why I love it..the UK is not the country I grew up in anymore. FOMO is a matter of intellect and reasoning. Tribal acting is normal for Humans but those outside of it are often feared or isolated. Luckily our comfortable society only has it for things like concerts...I would just stick spotify on..the buggers are rich enough as it is! (Five being four sadly).
FOMO ? Wolf or a sheep i prefer. I have never been a follower, ive always been and still am a leader. I do look at things after the fact and think " should i have gone " Nah. I made my decision and am sticking to it. Do i wish i would have been invite to that party ..Nah there loss. Dont get me wrong i have been to some fantastic concerts, like coldplay and ed Sheeran. Would i go and see him again " if i had the money spare ". Sometimes its as simple as money.
Rickkkkkkkkk.hope your well.I’m watchin this while sitting on a ferry from the lovely Isle of Arran heading back to mainland ❤old spice for ma da or Neil diamond LP, ma maw got perfume, ohhhh princess n guayarmina❤️if you’ve never had it then you can’t miss it.I’m 100%same had 0,sewerage is stinky. Story of my life😳ohh come tae Glasgow and get stabbed🗡🔪or slashed.stay with us (spare rooms)👍🍺naw 80s for me.defo go tae see any 80s band.
Its fine pal. She said if we were in UK she wouldnt go and see him either. So why feel compelled to see him here in Tenerife because Tenerife is going wild over him?@@geow6100

Just thinking out loud here Rick, I think the JOMO on FOMO beats YOLO.
Now back to my castle on the hill .
lol George
5 and 911 …. never heard of them lol! I’m coming to see Tony Christie in March.
You go Tricia! Nice one.
YOU being very logical and wise in taking all factors in
Thanks Jackie

Haha Thanks Michael

Aww you got me thinking now. (Not Googling) Gladys did licence to kill (I think) Was that Roger Moore? Guessing of course, Thanks for commenting
@@ricktenerife Not Roger - the reason I asked is because it’s an obscure one: Timothy Dalton.
Hi Rick, I really don’t know about this FOMO, not aware , but hey that’s a great wee walk though. 👍
Thanks John
