They ABSOLUTELY ARE NOT the same entities. “Fallen angels” are the progenitors OF demons. This is what Genesis 6:1-4 is all about. Nephilim: giant abominations born of rebellious angelic fathers; when those giant abominations die, THEY are what became demons. “Rephaim” literally means walking dead. Because they aren’t eligible for resurrection. They are part celestial being, So their spirit doesn’t die with their body, and then roams as what we know as demons. Demons are NOT “fallen angels”.. Fallen angels, fallen sons of God, are FAR more powerful than any demon.

There is no getting around it, demons ARE NOT rebellious Sons of God. Their attributes are inherently different. Rebellious angels are far more powerful than any demon. This was literally common knowledge to ANY ancient Israelite.
