lol Last time I ever saw a Giganotosaurus was two PS1 games called Jurassic Park: Warpath and Dino Crisis 2. It so nice to finally see this creature make its debut in Jurassic Park/World.
That concept design from the game for the Giganotosaurus looks awesome! I would love to see that in a movie. It would have been very fitting for Jurassic Park 3 alongside the Spinosaurus I think.
TLW game is honestly my favourite JP game. The art direction on it was flawless. The dinosaurs were all so colourful and lifelike. It's a shame we never got to see the Giga in that game. I much prefer that colouration.
Man the Giganotosaurus has always been one of my favorite Dinosaurs! The Lost world game is such a fun time, Great gameplay and great music makes it an instant classic for me!
The giga design and a sort of reused in Warpath, the colour scheme is very similar. Giachinno composed both soundtracks, and he even uses the Rex theme in both games. If anyone is lucky enough to find the complete rip of the Watpath Soundtrack (which has over 200 tracks), there are some fantastic variations of each theme!
I literally just did a school project about Don Lessem's Dino Don company. And I remember reading that he worked on the first Jurrasic Park movie and was part of the excavation and reconstruction of the giganotosaurus. What a funny coincidink!
Basically, which will lead into rexy and others teaming up to kill this buffed up hybrid giga from biosyn. They just want a new antagonist that isn’t a hybrid but will have heightened attributes.

I genuinely, adore the design done by Miles Terves for the 1997 LWJP PS1 game for. The Giganotosaurus and I’ll list, most of the things I love about the design below. ↙️ • Accurate for the 90s ✅ • Genuine feel of a JP design✅ • Subtle and realistic Color scheme ✅ • Not a T-Rex ✅ The Only 2 Cons • Tail is short and scrawny • Pronated hands But hey it was the 90’s after all so I’ll give it some slack.
@@trevorevans4000 Sadly I never had the, chance to play the LWJP PS1 game when I was little. Because I was born in 1996 and I didn’t hear about the game, until the late 2000’s. And even then to me anyway the game itself was like a urban legend. Until finally I saw gameplay for it sometime in 2014 with the Gaming-Beavers JP Month.
Honestly, since JWD wants ACCURATE Dinosaurs, I feel the Lost World Giga would have been Better. Just beef it up, longer tail and sort out the pronated hands. Make its colours a bit darker and give it more spikes. The JWD Giga is fine, just it has issues which are far more noticeable.
Not a great instance for starting to like the Giga to be honest, i wonder if it would've had the same effect on you hadn't it been introduced as a 70ft long Rex-trashing monster. Same line of reasoning goes for the Spino. Im not calling you in particular a fanboy, but sure as heck thats precisely the way megatheropods fanboys are made.
I wonder if back then when designing the Spino for JP3, someone said: ''It's bigger than a T-Rex'', and from there someone showed this design for inspiration, since it's colors and patterns are very similar to the final Spino design we got. It looks gorgeous and trully menacing! Can't wait to see the Dominion version in action!

Saw that too ! I knew what they we’re doing, maing a monster movie with Giga for the main audience. Giga will look awesome! Huge and spiked like acrocanthosauus and a hybrid by biosyn, It’ll kill a lot and be horrifying but, it will get the most brutal death in the franchise by multiple dinos. That’s literally the story, if they kill rexy besides dying from wounds after the fight, they risk the ruin the of the series and the fan base will turn fast due to evidence !

Colin Trevorow already once said that killing rexy would be strictly taboo, something that's untouchable. So you don't have to worry about rexy dying off

Love the blue and red design also. I still have that game for PS1. I always felt like the lower jaw should have more muscle they always make the jaw look thin and fragile. In real life since it tackled Argentinosaurus I'm sure the jaw was broader. An iguana skeleton looks brittle but when fleshed out the lower jaw is thick.
There's another reason why the video game's score is interesting: The Lost World: Jurassic Park was the first video game to use an orchestral score. Instead of using soundboards and synthesizers, it used actual instruments.
No gonna lie, that early Giga design looked WAY more like an Allosaurus than a Giganotosaurus. Maybe a Saurophaganax, but it looks too slim. (In my opinion only.)
@@Earnestqueef Im not displeased by the spikes, since its gonna be inaccurate anyway, i'm happy that there is a bit of warpath Acro along with it. Sucho, Giga and Acro were the most striking characters from warpath and since Sucho's concept has been already somewhat been incarnatd by Spino, im happy that they brought the other 2 along in jwd into a single dinosaur.
I’ve never played the lost world game since it’s before my time, but I watch The Gaming Beaver’s play through of it and I love the sound track. I always loved the design of the Carnotaurus and this Giga concept art is so cool too!
I'm not big on the builder games. I just finished JW Aftermath part 2 on Oculus. Now that's the JP game we've waited for growing up. The survival horror you want has been out a year now. Running and hiding from raptors, keeping absolutely still with Rexy staring right in front of you, pteranodons stabbing at you. It's so fun. Get an oculus 2, but work your way up to get your VR legs cause you'll feel motion sick if you're new to it. Start on simple games first. I've been playing a year now but it only takes a few days to get used to it
It was ok, I mean, I like it just fine, but would have been much better if they made the movie more like Michael Crightens novel version. No doubt about it

Maybe the giganotosaurus was cut off from the Lost World: Jurassic Park video game of 1997 due either budget limit or something that may involve of gathering information of the dinosaur itself including like how it behaves in the jurassic franchise compared to the a pure breed individual.
Actualy jurassic world fallen kingdom was trying to making dino accurate as they release carno,Sinoceratops and baryonyx its pretty accurate to real one and the opening of dominion where we seen quetzal and little dinosaur that eating meat on giga mouth also with feathered trex they pretty accurate enough but i confuse about giga i mean they can make like in Jurassic world evolution but i don’t know why they make like monstority but still cool on my opinion
So there’s a Giganotosaurus in the Lost World Jurassic Park Game, yikes, I really didn’t know about the dinosaur until Chased by Dinosaurs, the Dino Dan Series and Dinosaur Train, that’s how I realize that the Giganotosaurus was a very impressive and amazing dinosaur since Carcharodontosaurus in my opinion. I really love the PS1 design. I would like to see a Giganotosaurus that based on this design to appear in some sort of "What if......"scenario. In which whomever in charge of Project Regenesis decide to recreate Giganotosaurus rather than Spinosaurus. As for the JWE/JWE2 design. I imagine it appearing in another "What if......" scenario in which Simon Masrani decided to recreate Giganotosaurus instead of creating Hybrids.

●The '97 giga design has a closely similar coloration to another big bad apex predator universal used in the jp3 movie--exactly the same. Spinosaurus in jp3 has the exact same grayish-blue skin with some gnarly reds covering some parts of its skull, which came out 3 years later after the video game--oddly suspicious🤨. Did anybody else catch that? ●Anyways, yeah it would have been cool to see giga in the old school playstation video game console, but it's intriguing to me how much they even thought of using giga (and even dimetrodon) in video game productions from way back then. Gotta wonder if they ever thought about introducing these animals into the lost world Jurassic park movie in '97. ●Yeah klaiton you're right on the money: the giga in the movie Dominion's a little overexagerated, it's depicted being a little too monstrous than what it really was in real life. Not that I don't care of the giga's overall design, it's pretty bad ass and one of the coolest dinosaurs that I've ever seen. They just given it too much hype, bulked it up with a well 'en down muscular posture and made it far too big than what it originally was. Eh, oh well😌... For the giganotosaurus that appeared in the dominion prologue they should have saved that design for the Cloned version of the dinosaur and make another one that is basically more scientifically accurate to the latest scientific research and discoveries
you know what other Dino's got Axed from the Lost World:Jurassic Park on PS1i'll give you the quick Run down both Parasaurolophus and Corythosaurus heck Cory was axed out of the movie along with Edmontosaurus and two theropods that were axed as well were Dilophosaurus and are fleet footed Mimic Gallimimus.
I had always figured that the 97 Giga would have been a boss in one of the T. rex levels, possibly in one of the 2 levels where the Allosaurus served as the level bosses, before it was cut? Not sure how the Giga would have served as an opponent in the raptor or any other character's levels, especially with all the hype of it being a worthy challenger to T. rex? IF the Giga were not cut from the final game, I really wonder how it would have functioned in the game, IF it were not a boss that the player would have needed to fight as the T. rex. Also, with the build up to the final battle against 2 T. rexes in the final Prey level of the game, it might have felt a little off or incomplete or not as impactful, IF the new Big Bad theropod had not been dispatched by the player T. rex. If that makes sense? All and all, I loved the 97 design, and like how we kinda had a little nod to it as the 3rd skin for the Giga in Warpath, although that skin had more metallic grays and silvers than blues, but it did have that similar red stripe or streak on the side of its head and neck.

I feel the same way, I think the Giga's design is a bit to monster like compared to the T-rex. But still I'm waiting to see it in full detail when the movie finally comes out.
Funny how none of the versions of Giganotosaurs actually look like Giganotosaurs to me. The one we're getting looks more like a scaled up Acrocanthosaurus to me, and the one from that game looks more like a scaled up Allosaurus. The one that looks closest to the skeletons I've seen is the one from the parkbuilder game, Jurassic World Evolution? What annoys me about the whole giga thing in general though is Allosaurus. The raptors proved that dinosaurs didn't need to be big to be scary, and Allosaurus is just in that size range where it COULD get into most industrial places. Imagine the suspense of having one or two Allosaurs stalking our protagonists through a warehouse or loading dock. The heroes have no chance against an animal that big, even guns might not drop it in time to save you, but it can go almost anywhere in that building you can. The best elements of raptors and the rex rolled into one prehistoric package. of course I'm a huge Allosaurus fan and big on horror, so that might be me just wanting more of my favorite animal in a horror setting in general.
I mean the amber & then knowing ingen is basically dead... The only thing I feel that would complete this franchise on top of adding lore & nostalgia... An adult dilophosoures. (Forgive my spelling) I believe Klayton coversd a special *moment where that was cannon for a very short time... I mean 15 years go by... Every time I see a jp movie after the 1st. Denis interaction with the frilled dino seemed - surprised , grateful , that it was not one bigger then what we seen... One of those even fighting & getting ripped & torn apart by giga ... That's almost enough to make me relax about rexys scene whatever screen time the rapters may get
I feel like they can easily do a remaster of this game system now that the PS5 is now out and since it now 2021and soon-to-be 2022 they can easily fix this issues

I feel that Dominion’s Giga design is sort of a nod to the Indominus Rex’s design. If memory serves me right, the I-Rex also has Giga DNA.

For the giganotosaurus that appeared in the dominion prologue they should have saved that design for the Cloned version of the dinosaur and make another one that is basically more scientifically accurate to the latest scientific research and discoveries

you know what other Dino's got Axed from the Lost World:Jurassic Park on PS1i'll give you the quick Run down both Parasaurolophus and Corythosaurus heck Cory was axed out of the movie along with Edmontosaurus and two theropods that were axed as well were Dilophosaurus and are fleet footed Mimic Gallimimus.

I had always figured that the 97 Giga would have been a boss in one of the T. rex levels, possibly in one of the 2 levels where the Allosaurus served as the level bosses, before it was cut?
Not sure how the Giga would have served as an opponent in the raptor or any other character's levels, especially with all the hype of it being a worthy challenger to T. rex? IF the Giga were not cut from the final game, I really wonder how it would have functioned in the game, IF it were not a boss that the player would have needed to fight as the T. rex. Also, with the build up to the final battle against 2 T. rexes in the final Prey level of the game, it might have felt a little off or incomplete or not as impactful, IF the new Big Bad theropod had not been dispatched by the player T. rex. If that makes sense?
All and all, I loved the 97 design, and like how we kinda had a little nod to it as the 3rd skin for the Giga in Warpath, although that skin had more metallic grays and silvers than blues, but it did have that similar red stripe or streak on the side of its head and neck.

Only in a DLC, the giga in normal play for the new game is the same giganotosaurus in the first JWE.

I feel the same way, I think the Giga's design is a bit to monster like compared to the T-rex. But still I'm waiting to see it in full detail when the movie finally comes out.

Funny how none of the versions of Giganotosaurs actually look like Giganotosaurs to me. The one we're getting looks more like a scaled up Acrocanthosaurus to me, and the one from that game looks more like a scaled up Allosaurus. The one that looks closest to the skeletons I've seen is the one from the parkbuilder game, Jurassic World Evolution?
What annoys me about the whole giga thing in general though is Allosaurus. The raptors proved that dinosaurs didn't need to be big to be scary, and Allosaurus is just in that size range where it COULD get into most industrial places. Imagine the suspense of having one or two Allosaurs stalking our protagonists through a warehouse or loading dock. The heroes have no chance against an animal that big, even guns might not drop it in time to save you, but it can go almost anywhere in that building you can. The best elements of raptors and the rex rolled into one prehistoric package.
of course I'm a huge Allosaurus fan and big on horror, so that might be me just wanting more of my favorite animal in a horror setting in general.
I mean the amber & then knowing ingen is basically dead...
The only thing I feel that would complete this franchise on top of adding lore & nostalgia...

I was born in 1997, the year the Lost World movie came out. I just turned 24 two weeks ago

I feel like they can easily do a remaster of this game system now that the PS5 is now out and since it now 2021and soon-to-be 2022 they can easily fix this issues

As monstrous as the "JW: Dominion" Giganotosaur looks, to be fair, the 'Dino Crisis 2" version of the animal is pretty Kaiju-esque.

I have a theory in camp Cretaceous the campers arrived in isla sorna and they encounter the giga on the island.
That'd be nice, but I feel as if they're saving this dinosaur for Dominion, and the jp3 spino for camp cretaceous season 4 'en possibly 5
