Sorry guys there was way too much qrm, for Local Contacts today.
You never know what you are going to get on CB Radio, Stateside is more than worth a few cq Calls. Наука

I dont know why i said that, i wasnt meant to be taken the way it sounded.
Good work Steve! You listen to that radio and it makes you realise we must all be mugs paying hundreds for CB radios when there's quality stuff like that Trio available ;)
Nice DX keep it up...........
Jodie :)
hello, good to hear so many stations, nice old radio, good sound, today dx ing is a little more quiet,thanks,19 charlie tango 022 rotterdam
Hi Ben I love a bit of DX, just make hay when the sun shines ...
God I thought you were on ham frequencies at first. I had no idea you could get such range out of CB, but given the wave length it makes sense. Very cool. Looking forward to hearing more.
I do not use 10m of late, i mainly only use 11m, but as you can see.
If its on 11m, there is more than a good chance it will also be on 10.
Come back you know you want to :o)
A mate of mine had the same radio back in the early eighties. Good radio!
Its been a while since I made that video, the rig is gone now.
While I had it I made some nice contacts on it.
What a pileup at least you know the rigs working 100%
In the Chair nice one , Good to meet the both of you face to face sunday keep up the good work steve and off the cigs .
Very Kewl radio...have one myself for ham radio...is opened to operate on all frequencies but i usually use my Galaxy dx-949 on 11 meters ---very nice to hear another "CT" member..have to try to hook up on the radio 73's talk to ya later... 2CT057..
Just found this, cracking job there, going to have to try my TS140s now, what is the power supply you using?
Hi Steve, nice rig. Was it converted for 11 mertres?
Brilliant video... Love freebanding... 73's
Hello Steven from the US. What are you using for a antenna in this video? Looks like a mag mount? I run a 430 in the shed with a Sirio 827. Absolutely love the pair. 73s my friend. 292 Oregon coast.
Hi the Antenna is a SIRIO Megawatt 4000.
I still use it, or the President Texas.
A good combo you have there the 827 is also popular over here .
Maybe catch you on air at some point, 73 for now .
Hey mokotramp did you get your sirio set up yet?
Some nice contacts there Steve, the Trio is certainly doing the business

Yes it works very well,
TS430s is a great rig, 80s tech but good for cb use.
Nice to see you doing Gud DX

Hi Chris at first i was gutted there was so much skip coming through, i was hoping to catch some of the guys inn the UK.
In the end i thaught sod it lets get in there and give it large :O)
@stevestevens how many watt were you using, what antenna? Thanks in advanced 73 de 1ct017
Hi Matteo 12w and the Antenna is a Sirio Megawat 4000, i was using a thin power lead hence the lights dimming on the rig.
Steve Stevens cool thanks
Great to see others doing pile ups on 11m. All you need now is big 6 ele quad to sort out that e layer , you only need some more seletivity to choose those dx staions USA.
Or a 2 vertical end firing set up.
What your mobile antnna, & do you have your RSGB ticket

Hi Chris i only run mobile at the moment so beams are not an option, i used one back in the 8o s/ 90 s.
Back then i did quite well.
It was not my intention to work the states, i was hoping for some Uk stations.
I am m3 like yourself, but i do love CB Radio, it is where i came from.
My Antenna is a sirio megawat 4000, and u will say get a 9ft quarter wave.
Been there and done it, there is very little difference between the two.
For me and what i do the sirio is good enough, one day i will pick up a beam and do an all nighter (up the hill)
I see no reason why we could not chat on air one day though, can u tx on 11m??
What antenna would u be using?? If you can run vertical we could do it with ease.
Hi Steve,
I have in the air @ the mo, just 1/2 wave vertical @ 10 feet, But Am in the process of putting together a home brew gain master, all thats missing is the pipping to hold the damn thing up. You know the whit plumbing tube, all of 20ft. Im putting up two for end firing. When finished I will put results on youtube
:)
Hi Chris good luck with that matey, one on its own is a good Antenna.
Let us know how you co phase them..
quarter wave coax to one antenna & half wave to antenna2. Ater you have checked & ajusted swr to minimum. easy:)
So u have them running now??
Good dx ..
Keep that Keenwood it sounds good
Steve, what's the power output of your Kenwood and the antenna setup please mate?
Steve

The rig will do 100w, i of course only run at 12w.
Antenna is a Sirio megawat 4000, magmounted.
The Sirio has done me proud time over, its down to band conditions and the Antenna.
Cool!. Yes of course sticking within the limits is a good idea ;-) 10-12m have been crap for a a while now haven't they, just the other weekend was the best I've heard for a while even had the states getting over pretty well but mostly its no good for local or DX up here in Cumbria.
385 is a calling Chanel make your call and qsy that's how is done 😄
qrz,, is not the Call sign is an invitation to transmit back
Qrz is “who is calling me”. Fucking cbers
qra is callsign not qrz,
Well, after a 28 year break from CB, I've decided to come back onto ssb. Just bought an AT 6666 and a mag mounted tank whip! Standby and listen out for Sierra Yankee 2-1, I'll be about somewhere on high ground in the Midlands real soon! 😉
+mokotramp
Thats great news fella, let me know how you get on ok...
+Steve Stevens Cheers Steve!
Well, not a good start. I bought a 9ft tank whip, I've give up trying to bring the swr down. Basically I don't think there's enough steel on my motor to ground it? I've just ordered a Sirio 5000, hopefully that should prove easier to tune and have a little more useable bandwidth?
oh its Richie by the way
+paul richards
Hi Richie yes mate was good to meet you as well, i still find it strange when people say hi Steve.
And i have no idea who it was lol.
It happened in Norfolk of all places, no complaints but at first a bit strange :o)
If that's a CB I'm a Dutch uncle
hello uncle jan......
Why are lights going dim....that shouldn't be happening.
+charlieoscar09
A good point, and something i will explain.
The power lead is way too long, in the next few days i will shorten it to suit.
The supply comes to the radio direct from the battery via 40Amp red and black cable.
That can be trimmed by about 1 mtr, the lead on the radio is stupidly long.
There is of course some voltage drop as a result, audio is not effected as it is.
Watch this space.
While i am typing i will say that i am going to be using the grant more from the mobile.
The Trio may well be swapped in for a smaller hf radio, as it is a handfull mobile.
Nice one Steve...Would it be possible to get the GRANT in shot whilst mobile cheers
i do the best i can, when contacts like that come, the plan goes out the window...
Woah a real pile up going on there. Some great contacts flooding in from across the pond. That Trio is kicking butt Steve. Great video buddy.
