I'm a 5ft 2in woman. I own and drive a lifted FJ, I'm in total agreement about the side mirrors. I always have to look around them. The thing in the middle of the dashboard has blocked cars from my view while driving. I still love my FJ. The backseat is perfect for me to camp out in over night.

You look great in that FJ! I have owned loads of different off road vehicles. The FJ is by far my favorite. It goes anywhere and is pretty comfortable on the road as well. My home is at a ski resort in the Sierras and I can always make it over the mountains even when the roads are closed thanks to this surefooted beast! One tip for those of shorter stature is that you can use the lever on the side of the driver's seat to raise the seat. Visibility has never been a problem for me off road. Any vehicle driving along a technical route will have places were a spotter is helpful. Remember, any tall vehicle, even a pickup truck, will have issues with visibility. You have to be a little more careful when changing lanes or backing up. The great thing about the FJ is that it is a Toyota and will always get you home after your adventure.

Although the FJC was originally designed for the American auto market, it was still 100% made in Japan (excluding the current Dubai market). Im also in LA, and have a number of buddies who are around your height and they offroad no problem with all kinds of modifications including 6" lifts and 35" tires.
I love my FJ but it's not ideal for tall folks either. I'm 6'5". it has decent head room but I have to lean forward and cock my head to the side to see traffic lights when I'm stopped. It's the narrow windshield. Great looking stance on paper but it really forced some design compromises. Extra wiper, extra side visors. Great review

Great video Jen !!! Just to help you out! The large handle at the left side of the driver seat raises the seat very high to accommodate for shorter drivers and to aid while off road driving. And it is an amazing vehicle, I have had mine for 7yrs.
The front seat has a handle on the side to lift it up I'm 5ft 3 and I love my FJ blinds spots the F J had back up sensors and always check all three mirrors before changing lanes.

The Toyotas specs say it's 1.83 tall, I am 1.87. Still smaller than my little brother who is 1.92 and tiny compared to my sisters boyfriend who is 2.02 lol. I haven't driven a defender either, I have been a passenger in a classic range rover and a land rover discovery, the ride is quite cool, somehow feels like you re in s ship on the road, the way it handles :).
There’s a big handle on left side of that drivers seat base that jacks the seat up and down if you would’ve given it a few pumps you might’ve got to see over those dash gauges quite well

I've only seen one or two of these FJ's in my small country town. I really like these FJ's I just can't stand all the new tech features. I don't like the push start ignitions. I want it simple and old school dashboard like my 96 Tacoma. Toyota has been super reliable to us. My dad's daily drive 94 Tacoma has 434,XXX miles on it. I shared it on FB and got alot attention on it. Yota power!
FJ Cruisers are very rare in Europe. Actually if you were to park an Audi R8, a Mercedes C63 and the FJ Cruiser. More people would look at the Toyota... Someday you will find a back seat that even you will be uncomfortable in XD Ever been in a Porsche 911? Front - fine, comfortable. Getting in the back however is terrible. Being in the back is terrible. Getting out is even worse. After failing to get out 2 times, I thought I would be forever stuck in that Porsche. I'd have to live the rest my life in the back seat of a 911 Turbo XD

Do you think being to tall is another problem. I am 6'3" and havent stopped, im only 15 1/2 so i still got a ways to go. So far its been hard to learn to drive because i dont fit in any of our family cars

Somewhere I have a childhood picture of myself sitting in a Triumph TR 7 at the New York Auto Show back in the mid-1970's. My head can be seen above the line of the driver's side window. I may not be as tall as "GamingOverall," but today, I'd find it hard to believe I can sit in that car without my head hitting the roof.

Having push button start is worthless, if something goes wrong with the electronics involved you will be stuck like chuck
definitely, for a off road truck, the simpler the better.
Seeing out is kinda like the key feature unless you are running an actual tank. Then you got some cameras or something.
