I might need help with the leftover food… That was a lot and still have three dozen eggs remaining. Thank you both again, it was so much fun and so fulfilling. Merry Christmas to yours yourselves and your families.
I have had mine last May and gave away my Ninja indoor grille which I loved but the DREO is better overall with features like Water to help with the Searing Technology! I showed my son how he can make the perfect Steak every time just set it and forget it! ;) Less messy Stove top Cleanups since I've owned it! I did Fajitas the other day cooked the vegetables first then the Marinated Chicken and everything came out delicious!
Thank you so so much and hope you both are travelling well! I am so sorry we couldn’t have met up more… due to the extended trip. Merry Christmas to yourselves and your families.
I love my Dreo! I’m thinking maybe the smoke issue was due to the size of the roast. I also noticed with eagle eyes you had to switch the location of the probe to the side to make it fit inside the drawer. I have only made thick ribeyes in it and they come out great. I look forward to trying a rib roast once I can find one on sale! Thank you for a great video. This is a fantastic piece of equipment
Really enjoy the Dreo too and lately I’ve been cooking thick ribeyes as well. Always comes out perfect. My smoke alarm is quite sensitive and set off with the slightest smoke
I notice you didn't mention that you had to move the temperature prob from the rim Rib to a different location because the way you originally inserted it made it hard for you to to put it in the oven with it sticking up so high.
My Dreo ChefMaker recently had a firmware update. I now seeing the menu has expanded quite a bit compared to the last time I looked around. I noticed, of the several new selections in Chef Mode Pork, that Pork Belly has its own algorithm to cook perfectly. Knowing it did this well in Classic Mode Probe Cook, it'd be interesting to know the improvement if there were any.
Thank you so much. I am truly impressed with the oven, and with meats being so expensive, I can’t afford to screw anything up so this cooks it perfect every time. It’s a little pricey, but I would highly recommend.
Hola Tim ! Me gusto mucho este video, ver tu cocina que esta muy bien equipada , organizada y verte cocinar, a asique espero otros videos en donde nos cocines alguna receta que te guste mucho en tu departamento; feliz navidad y año nuevo !!!
Really appreciate the video, have had Dreo for some months now, steaks and chicken cooked to perfection but always interested in learning what else the machine can do. While watching I noted that the probe “jumped” from the top of the roast to the side, it would have been good to see how you managed the restricted size of the basket with so large a joint, less experienced users might find the changed siting of the probe confusing. Secondly, you pulled the probe out of the meat without protecting your hand! Straight out of the machine the probe would have been hot enough to burn skin; I know this from personal experience! Great video nonetheless and glad that you demonstrated more than steak and salmon.
i miss the videos where you're just at your apartment trying different cooking methods like your fire wok or butter turkey!!!!! I would gratefully appreciate you posting old school type of videos now and then 🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much for reaching out! Surprisingly, it’s a lot more challenging to make a video in the condo. But it is a lot of fun and will definitely give it a try in the future.
Tim you’ve come a long way in a short period of time. I believe you deserve all the rewards that you’ve worked so hard to achieve. Still waiting for the new chopsticks. lol
Thank you so much🙏 I could’ve use those chopsticks today at a Filipino restaurant serving noodles. Fork and spoon didn’t cut it.😂. A very merry Christmas to you and yours.
Oh, that was due to my poor editing skills 😉…. The pouched egg was lightly coated with a light dusting of flour, dipped in some beaten eggs, and coated in panko bread crumbs. I believe the flours helps the beaten eggs adhere to the poached egg… and the beaten eggs provides the substrate on which the breadcrumbs adhere. Hope that helps.
I think you’ll like it very much. Cleaning is very easy, although they say you can put in the dishwasher, I just filled the basket with some hot soapy water and use a brush. Very easy to clean.
If you have direct contacts to Dreo can you ask them to make a Air Fryer that has easy to carry handles on the go?? Sometimes its a great thing to have an air fryer next to the grill for sides or finishing off some meat or just to take outside to the patio if you're cooking something with a strong smell.
That’s a good idea! Unfortunately, I don’t have a direct connection with the people at Dreo, but broiling and searing stuff outside might be good because every little thing sets off that darn smoke alarm in the condo
Trying to figure out if I've done something wrong. Using my Chef Maker for the first time. Cooking a roast. It told me to wrap it in tinfoil and to place it in the basket with the probe. After going through the other steps, it said it would take 2 hours and 30 minutes to cook. It has run for an hour and 15 minutes so far and it still says there is 2 hours cooking time left.?????? Have any of you experienced something like this before? It's going to be hard to time the rest of your meal if it can't give you the correct cooking time to begin with.
I think you’re using the sous vide mode … that is a little hard to gauge as it’s just an estimate. As the roast warms up, the probe detects the change and tries to figure out how quickly the heat transfers. That’s my guess anyhow. A very happy Canadian Thanksgiving to you!
@@TimLeeLetsGo It took 3 and 45 minutes to cook. Way to late to have for supper. I don't know Tim. Would it cook in sous mode if it tells you to wrap the roast in tinfoil? Hopefully, I'll have better luck on my next item I cook in it.
Thank you and I hope you’re you enjoy. Really impressed with mine and the automatic programs cooks the meats perfectly 😋. A very happy holiday to you and yours
I’ve had mine a month or so. Best chicken wings in town. I had problems with my probe, and they’re sending a replacement. The attach point does seem to lock in as sturdy as it should, and with that location it’s a weird angle for the user. I’m looking forward to the new probe.
It is impressive and I have not tried chicken wings yet, but looking forward to giving it a try. I didn’t notice that the contact points on the probe needed to be cleaned and if I had any oil or grease on it, it wouldn’t make the connection. Really enjoying the oven.
A very merry Christmas to you and yours, Calvin, and wishing you an amazing 2024. It was a lot of work to cook all the food and did not have time for the au jus and I was definitely missing that… A nice butter sauce for the salmon. Wellington would’ve been great as well.
P.s Tim how long did it cook for. 🙏 also how long do you let beef rest after cooking. Thank you. So sorry to ask you questions. Does steak have to rest once finished cooking or only prime rib? P.s can you put silicone in the air fryer to keep it clean or not too?
Very good questions! The oven actually does all the cooking for you, so you don’t really need to time it. For the prime rib, it took about three hours from start to finish and yes, we did let it rest for about 30 minutes or more as we were preparing the vegetables. The steak actually really doesn’t need a lot of resting, maybe a minute or two, and that took, about 40 minutes to cook if you do it on their sous vide mode, or about 10-15 minutes to cook if you’re just searing it. I haven’t tried the silicon parchment paper at the bottom, but I can imagine you can do so. However, it’s so easy to clean I wouldn’t bother.
Hello Tim I'm hopeless at cooking steak and I'm going to watch you closely to see if this device is worth buying so I can cook steak better I usually overcook mine as if I see pink in the middle I feel it not cooked properly. So i can enjoy beef properly. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2023. 😁
I totally understand! Meats are so expensive nowadays, that I can’t really afford to screw anything up. I must say that I am truly impressed with the way it cooks the meats. It comes out perfect every time.
The ability to cook steaks (my wife's and I carnivore food) relatively consistently, is one of the main reasons for watching this video. The two downsides of this product that I note in your video, and other videos on this same product, are that the lovely golden browning only occurs on one side. Additionally, the basket size is only large enough for one decent sized steak, which is a deal breaker for making daily meals for two.
With me, being so expensive nowadays, it’s painful to make a mistake. You’re right, the browning mostly happens on the top, and bottom brown somewhat, but not as nice as on the top. I wish the basket would’ve been a bit bigger, and really meant for two people for steaks, and a maximum four people for roasts.
If you just one person, the machine would work for you, but certainly not for a family of three or more. It’s just way too small and seems to take much, much longer to cook in a regular air fryer. Costco recently had a sale on a boneless leg of lamb. I tried it in the Dreo and absolutely loved it.
That oven really did a great job. Nice to see the 2 Chefs 👩🍳 👨🍳 make another appearance. I can almost taste the Prime Rib through the screen.

Air fryers are amazing. You can bake great Artisan Bread in them, as well. The loaves are smaller, but the crust comes out great.
Good to know, I haven’t done any bread, aside from that pastry for the salmon, Wellington, but will give it a try

So it over browned the outside of the prime rib roast and set off your smoke alarm? That would be a problem for me.
I think I maxed out the size of the prime rib that the oven can handle. In my condo, every little thing set off the fire alarm.
This is a certainly different kind of video, but I like it. Fun and more personable. ❤

Steak had to be cold. Was resting 25 minutes for the yams & another 15 minutes for the cauliflower. So rested for probably 40+ minutes.
