- From his start in life as a child soldier in the war-torn region of Southern Sudan in the early 1980s, Emmanuel Jal has come through a huge number of struggles during his life to become a successful and acclaimed recording artist and peace ambassador. In 2008 a full-length documentary on his life was released. The film, Warchild, won 12 prestigious film festival awards worldwide. In the same year, his autobiography, also called Warchild, was published by Little Brown.
Emmanuel has released five award nominated studio albums and he has collaborated and performed alongside artists such as Lauryn Hill, Peter Gabriel, Nelly Furtado, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Nile Rodgers and Alicia Keys. Emmanuel co-starred with Reese Witherspoon in the Warner Brothers motion picture, The Good Lie which tells the story about the journey of four young Sudanese refugees (based on The Lost Boys of Sudan) who win a lottery for relocation to the United States.
In 2010, Jal launched ‘We Want Peace’, a campaign that calls for peace, protection and justice for all in Sudan, as well as calling for an end to all conflicts from around the world. This campaign is supported by a number of A-list stars and leaders, including George Clooney, Alicia Keys, Richard Branson, Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Carter and Kofi Annan.

"My life is a work of art to spark consciousness'.....those are the most beautiful words I have ever heard uttered together by any human being....my heart is so moved and so touched by his spirit coming through, and expressing itself, and all of its beauty...what an amazing human being he is...spiritually fighting his way though all the darkness around him, he fought through it all, he spirit said we will move us through this and he allowed his spirit to do it...to take over and guide him through and his spirit is here teaching us all of the spiritual truths known to him, from his spiritual journey....speaking to your demons is a huge part of your spiritual journey, for you process that energy, and release it, and you keep going, demon by demon, to regain control of your heart, mind, and soul, and body..all of you is restored...and in being determined to be part of the solution, his spiritual message, his soul ultimately pushed through all of these demonic forces around him, whatever came his way, he pushed to be part of the solution, and kept pushing, pushing, pushing out, out, out, to a point where his spirit is shining through and with awareness and all the wisdom a true spiritual warrior has, not forgetting the demons he pushed through, but knowing them, understanding them, and he used them to guide him forth...Emmanuel Jal may just be one of the most amazingly, honest and most truthful spiritual warrior on this planet....he has lived and breathed terror all around him, and knows the insanity of the human mind, creating and causing such horrors on the planet we know and see as war, showing up, and he comes through shining like the true spiritual warrior he is, to teach the world that the mind, body, soul need this cleansing, for true purpose, to come forth. Sending much love to Jannecke whose spirit has led her to Emmanual Jal, who has so much to share. His movie, The Good Lie, touched my soul on every level....the same as this interview has....
