You don’t fear the emptiness but rather the fact that it is anything but empty and your vision limits you. You can only see so many ft away and everything that can kill you swims fast….and can even com from under you. Imagine being in the African savanna with a blue blindfold on.
i mean atleast in the savannah you'll hear shit coming for you. Like if say a leopard or a lion runs toward you, they may not roar but the trampling of grass is something you can hear. If there are wild dogs or hyenas around theyll either growl or laugh, but in the ocean its dead silent.

As someone who actually has it, I would kill for it to be cured for just one weekend. My phobia specifically is the ocean and no other body of water, but swimming with whales and sharks is a life long dream. I'm going to have to do it in an aquarium where they let you pay to swim with them, because my mind will not allow me to get in the ocean 😞
Same! However my fear stretches to all bodies of water apart from pools. My phobia is very severe and it sucks! I absolutely love sharks and whales and I wish I could dive with them, but my fear doesn’t allow me too.
@@erhhhh27 I totally understand. I have to actually make Dr appointments and get medication just to go on vacation whenever my daughter and husband want to go to the ocean. Luckily it's only once every couple of years but if I was not medicated there is no way I would be able to let my daughter get in it, and I only do that because I don't want her to grow up with my fear.
@@Donnavinmackinzii Dang, I’m sorry about all that. But yeah, I never would have thought phobias are also triggered by other people doing things until the first time my daughter ran towards the water while we were at the ocean.
