Nice office you have there! Looking like a beast of a reel! Can’t want to put her to good use! Congratulations on 100k my friend, hard work payed off 💯💯💯
OK Josh, Got to Love it ~ (6:53) pulling in the Big One and a train sounds. Geeezz!!! 😂 I also love your decor, it has that outdoorsie feeling. Can't wait to see a big fish pulling that rod, reel, you in the "new" boat around. Go get um! Good Luck! Stay Well and God Bless ✝
You can’t see it but I got a big smile on my face , the reason , when I went hunting for my new fly reel I had sticker shock ! Then by chance while I was at Gator Jim’s they had a 9 wt Okuma fly reel that was not only vary affordable but the quality was just as good if not better than most of the competitors, I’m sold on their products, I can’t wait to see you arm wrestle a sea monster, do yourself a favor and get a lanyard ( parachute cord and clip) so you don’t do a Chris and let it go for a swim , looking into a Okuma fly rod next ! Action at skyway south , the bite was on , mac’s, pompano , broke off 3 times , to light of gear using wire next time ! Tight lines ! 👍🏼
Nice way you took that reel apart. I haven't used one of these yet. My whole life i've always had 1 or 2 boats in front. But my dive partner told me he's going to open up his 17' Whaler for shoreline trolling so i'm back in it since i let my 2 dive boats go bye bye. . I can see using the 50 & 80 for off the 40-60fm ledge. Must be nice being water-side. And Dave is a great guy to work with. Really nice video by the way.
I have used some smaller Okuma rods and reels, good product for the price. No complaints whatsoever. I'll be eager to hear how their big game tackle treats you.
@@Saltyscales I have a Okuma Azores Blue 9000 for YFT fishing. Gets the job done! Okuma has quality stuff at a great price point. Pretty sure you won't be disappointed, good choice! 😉
Okuma's new saltwater stuff is badass, i target 100lb gar with the komodo ss, just got the alijos 2 speed for landbased shark fishing. Mak 50w is my next one, i used tiagras, talicas and a calcutta 700b for the longest but the okumas have better gearing and feel just a tad bit more robust. I cant speak on their bass bass reels or spinning gear, for that i fanboy over daiwa and shimano, but their conventional reels are the cream of the crop.
Man get out of here man I have makaira 8 I jumped poles with that reel and I have accurate I am a machinist so I know Okuma makaira it's a thing I am in Florida to i can tell I have a lighter rod and reel no kingfish ever spoold Makara 8 yeah I get brand loyalty I like Shimano calcutta's I should have been Outfitter
I never said you couldn't use a lighter setup and this would not be my go to for kingfish. I simply stated that is is a great all around big game reel and you can catch kings also.

Always a complete honest review with Capt. Taylor and I really appreciate that and I am sure other subscribers do too!
I will do a more thorough review once I use it for a while but I'm impressed with the initial unboxing. Thanks for the comment.
Congrats on the sponsorship! That is one sexy reel. I love Okuma products. You are gonna be very happy with Okuma as well.
Thanks Jeff, so far I'm very pleased. 👍

It was epic timing right Dino? Thanks, takes a lot of skill to bring nature to the office. 😂
Wow, love the editing and I need to get my hands on that reel, pronto!

Awesome, glad you found a gem. Skyway bite is pretty good right now. My next video is at the pier but we went on a one tide day and struggled.
I love their reels. Love working on them too
I opened this baby up, looks solid and easy to maintenance.
Okuma sea are the goats I own two 80w for land based shark fishing. And the drag ramp and smoothness is top of the line
I'm looking forward to testing her. 🙂

That thing looks like a certified beast
It is for sure

Yes sir, they just sent me some of their spinning reels and I can't wait to put them to the test.
Okuma... can't go wrong with that! 👍👍
I like all my reels and rods so far. Time will tell how they stand up to my fishing abuse lol.

You never dropped the video about the rod... What size is it and how did it treat you?
Nice reel it looks to be very well made and I agree all that thought in it and they put a plastic knob
Not sure why they did that, I'll have to get some feedback from Dave. 👀
Can u make a video using the reel?
Great review. The On/Off lever for the clicker is actually aluminum and black anodized.
Good to know, it just doesn't feel aluminum.
Nice review- hope you are going to demonstrate it on the water
Absolutely, stay tuned!
The Best reel ever built 2nd to Accurate ATD. Penn is trying to replicate it in their VISX.
Just picked up the same reel. It is very nice. Looking forward to using it on some bft.....
Enjoy it
