Heatsink has 25% efficiency while the weapon is "active", and 100% efficiency when youre locked out. so rather than 10% over 3 seconds, its more like 2.5% over 3 seconds and only 10% over 3 seconds if you let yourself get locked out. Practically, this means ~19 seconds of activated use from cranial gorunding, ~17.5s with heatsink and ~15.3s at base but a ~10s lockout time with cranial and ~7.5s lockout time with heatsink
Low cut upwards from dominant side to cut downward from non dominant side is a nice double-attack combo I occasionally use in HEMA. Nice to see it in a game

great video as always reginald - Some things I want to add about the MKII, Once you get used to the MKII combos not only are they more interesting and fun, but I honestly think it performs better. The "overhead" or clunkyness of having to go into your other moves to hit your combos is made up for by the increased killing power i find it has due to better hits/combos once in the flow, and the push attack helps your saftey SO MUCH. Push attack is really easy to spam bc of its great stamina management and base stamina. It has good stagger and dmg, and it chains right into the sideways heavys. It sweeaps everything in front of you and I find it helps shut down packs of ragers etc making the weapon feel much safer in practice once you start using the PA a lot over the MK X in dense mixed hordes. I run the MK II with a stam curio + 3 stamina regen perks and I was trying 3x block efficiency as well like I would run on a devil claw parry build and it felt really good. It helps in those "oh shit" situations noticeably to block and still have stamina to push attack and start my combo. I was considering dropping the 15% toughness to all in stamina perks and try sprint efficiency as well, which might help the weapons mobility a tiny bit when kiting (speed still sucks tho i know) So I'm a big MKII stan, after messing with both I think its the higher performing mark as well when used properly.

I know it’s a tad selfish but…could you maybe do an eviscerator tutorial? I’m trying to run a flamer/eviscerator build and I’m obviously very new. Either way, great video! Thanks for the tips 🙏🏻
Hello! Thanks much. Evis is on my list along with thammer. Short version is rampage+wrath. Mk15 horde clear is light3x block cancel. Mk3 is heavy light repeating
God damn, dude! You just get me. Like fundamentally. When you went on talking about the cool factor of swing patterns, I was like: "Damn! This mothafucka don't MISS!"
You can pretty much OS crusher with the sprint heavy attacks But you need to be able to gain some distance before the stance showing so you cant really spam this but one crusher at the end of an hallway is gonna be a gonner
Could Overload blessing work by deliberately using a low heat management blade and being an aoe machine? I don't know how large or powerful the explosion is and I guess it also depends on how long the lockout is? I haven't had a chance to play with it yet or even in the meat grinder so... If the lockout isn't long, I could see using a low heat management blade to just be an aoe machine not to mention some cc, too?
Yo! Awesome video. Really excited to try the new Relic Blades. I was curious though if you had a recommended Zealot Build for the sword, Talent wise that is. If you do then that'd be awesome as I am curious what synergizes with it well.
Ok so personally I enjoy cranial and heatsink or whatever perk gives you heat cooldown when you hit headshots or crits. It existends the time a lot for heat usage and decrees cooldown time with both
Would you ever consider doing full build guides for weapons like this? I plan to run one of these on my Zealot but I would rather hear from someone who clearly knows what they're talking about and has done the math like you, regarding skill trees and full weapon loadouts, compared to some random person on Reddit
Thinking about this things empowered mode i think a similar thing could work for (besides the vets munitorum) chain weapons you activate it and once the bar is full the chain weapon then stalls leaving you with a dull boink stick until the motor can be started again BUT that would make chain weapons effectively the same style of weapon with the same usage that the power swords have I guess so we are stuck with one empowered single target attack
Hey Reg just a quick question, that dodge bar you have, is that a mod? Or a new QOL feature coming with the update?? Great video as always, always fun to learn new tips and tricks to get better. 👍🏻
Quick question, activating the special counts as block? Or maybe as parry? (You can parry overheads but can’t block them) Does it count as a normal block or does the block have any special properties? How long is the block window?
Wait I'm totally blanking out here on the block mechanic... there is one right? How is blocking using this greatsword? I really want to be able to block hits instead of constantly dodge with this... It just fits the power fantasy so well to block a hit then do a counter attack...
How are you performing the stab after the block reliably? I was doing it in the meat grinder a second ago by accident, but now when I push attack and light attack right after, it just goes into L2
Oooo found instruction on Steam guide, you hold block for your push and the attack comes after. This is fun, just need to remember what combo piece I'm on for Crushers. Definitely feels like this either needs a buff to 3 hit them, or the dumb duelist sword needs a nerf. I am killing crushers with Fury of the Faithful's super crit reliably, but when 4-5 spawn, Dueling sword just one shots all of them, and this thing is a bit of a snore. Loving the weapon though.
Yes, Dueling sword is OP. Insanely OP. Its actually diseased. People keep judging other weapons by it as the context which is insane. The highest mobility weapon in the game should also not have the best damage output into all targets. Easy crusher oneshots are bad for the game as well. The reality is before DS4 was buffed into the stratosphere the most powerful weapons in the game could at best 2 tap (power sword 6 excluded). So 2H PS is in a good spot and is a fun weapon.
Oh dude I didnt even know they added these! Im gonna go try this asap! Was getting kinda tired of my heavy evisc build I been running for ages haha xD Edit: odd I just logged on the game and don't see the weapons anywhere? Nor do I see the new gameplay mode havoc. Am I missing something? According to steam my games up to date.
Sorry for sorta jukin' ya bro. But yea I have the unique privilege of early "influencer" (lol) access and am also a play tester so I was able to get this all together for everyone the day before release.
What kinda build is most effective for these ? I see you using Momentum like I do but I feel like it lacks the DPS potential of Martyrdom and survivability of crit builds . Any specific talents i need to use ?
Martyrdom is peak for damage. Crit doesn't work that well but I've done it. Inexorable is reliable and survivable. Take dodge toughness right side and dodge DR.
Been waiting for a 2h sword for a while... looks great though I'm a little sad there's no crit blessings😢. Thanks for the detailed overview though, GG.
I am not using lossless, the 72 FPS cap was in order to ensure my rig didn't have any stutters while recording for fatshark. Though frankly I never dip below 100 frames when I play normally.
@@Reginald-sc9tk I take your word for it, it's just not something I'd be interested in running. But I will say I agree, that Inquisitorial "I" on the mark X looks based. Did you check to see if there are any hidden finesse stats on it like the crusher's push attack?
Yea, but its not hard to rebuild them AND you can build them simply by swinging into any target without missing. Even the same crusher over and over. While the crit effect happens _based on random critd_. Unless running blazing piety your crit rate is going to not be worth mentioning on this weapon.
Man someone at Fatshark really loves making bad "on perfect block" blessings don't they. Shame too, cause I really like the idea, and wish there were more mechanics that incentivized blocking. I feel the duration of just 3 seconds is really what kills it. Overall though, this and the Psyker sword are a fantastic direction for the weapon design in this game, really hope to see more like it.
I can't be the only scrub who thinks melee uppercuts look cool as hell but are too cumbersome to use effectively. You have to get so precise with the spacing to land weakspot hits without catching a torso instead. Idk, I assume I just need to git gud.
The first one of these I bought I got all 80s except for a 60 in mobility. Very lucky for a first buy. Not a huge deal if you have millions of plastseel.
wow Counterattack is literally the worst blessing they've ever put in this game. I completely disagree with you calling it B tier, this is complete ass. 10% attack speed for THREE seconds every 8 seconds on a perfect block. You get a bonus that a talent can give you for T H R E E seconds, which can only trigger every 8 seconds, on a very rare trigger condition. This is not B tier. This is a waste of a blessing slot. This is doing absolutely nothing. Fatshark, fire whoever made this, this is completely inexcusable and they shouldn't be allowed to balance a video game ever again.
I love the new swords. They are fun to use and perform quite well. On a critical, personal level tough, i find it struggles to find its niche. Its personality so to speak. At times it feels like a weak Thunder hammer. At other times like an unwieldy Tigris Chainsword. It feels too slow for what it is and too weak compared to the weapons it seems to be competing with. Probably just me, but hey, someone here might correct me and send me on the right path with this beauty.
Its actually a top performer only weaker at heavy elites busting than the thammers and Eviscerators but better into light elites and generally a real horde anniholator. The thammsr suffers into hordes and lighter elites. Ds4 and vet powersword are both outliers and shouldn't be considered as part of the comparison which is why people are having a hard time.
@Reginald-sc9tk Considering i use shock and awe on my thunder hammer i never felt it was weaker on hordes, quite the opposite, actually. That being said, maybe I've always used it wrong because of that. I still get your point, but i feel curious. Since shock and awe transforms the thunder hammer into an absolute all-around beast on damnation or heresy, is it a higher level of play thing? Edit : A few typos and the realization that you do not have a good relationship history with the Hammer based on your older vids... Its actually my favorite (The Crucis that is, i freakin hate ironhelm :P). This is interesting. I'll check em' out. I really do wonder now if its truly shock and awe that makes the damn thing so effective. For reference my Crucis uses: 25% on both unyielding and carapace Shock and awe (Duh) :P And Headtaker. Anything dumb enough to get near gets swatted and if not dead gets staggered or outright knocked down. Anything bigger gets the special. The things a work of art.
@@mrpatate12345678 Yeah - so. The thammer is actually my second favorite weapon after the chain axe. The issue with it is that, objectively, it sucks. Or did. It still kinda does. Shock & Awe does not change that. ALL shock and awe does is allow the weapon to cleave more effectively. But so does headtaker. However the weapon has a _cleave damage cap_ of like 5 guys. At best you're killing 2ish per swing in most cases regardless of how many you hit.

You can pretty much OS crusher with the sprint heavy attacks
But you need to be able to gain some distance before the stance showing so you cant really spam this but one crusher at the end of an hallway is gonna be a gonner
dodge slide back on MK2 for easy stab
@Reginald-sc9tk didn't tried MK2 yet
@@adrianduveau7496 maybe can do it on MkX not sure.
You can block cancel the 3rd light attack on the mk10 makes it really good against hordes.
i haven't played zealot in forever but i have to drop psyker to main this weapon it just feels so right
That things are a beast against hordes.
I’ll leave the original up, but you did address this point later that the aoe is weak and small.
Yo! Awesome video. Really excited to try the new Relic Blades. I was curious though if you had a recommended Zealot Build for the sword, Talent wise that is. If you do then that'd be awesome as I am curious what synergizes with it well.
I think it works on most common builds but I ran it most often with top right dodge toughness and dogs DR into FotF across into Inexorable keystone.
Ok so personally I enjoy cranial and heatsink or whatever perk gives you heat cooldown when you hit headshots or crits. It existends the time a lot for heat usage and decrees cooldown time with both
Thank you for these.
Happy to do it.
I think this is gonna make me play Zealot now
How do you activate that powerwave people are using to clear hordes?
Thats on the force sword not the power sword. Psyker specific.
I can’t wait to get home and play with this
Basically running a charging berserker with a two hand power sword and bolt pistol is so satisfying
Yes
Dammit, now I wish I wasn't busy tomorrow. Seeing all this got me back in my crusading mood =3=
Would you ever consider doing full build guides for weapons like this? I plan to run one of these on my Zealot but I would rather hear from someone who clearly knows what they're talking about and has done the math like you, regarding skill trees and full weapon loadouts, compared to some random person on Reddit
Yup! Soon!
@@Reginald-sc9tk Hell yeah, that's a subscription well deserved then! I'll be looking forward to it!
Thinking about this things empowered mode i think a similar thing could work for (besides the vets munitorum) chain weapons
you activate it and once the bar is full the chain weapon then stalls leaving you with a dull boink stick until the motor can be started again BUT that would make chain weapons effectively the same style of weapon with the same usage that the power swords have I guess so we are stuck with one empowered single target attack
Due to its cleave potential, I'd recommend the blessing that increases cleave on crit and use zealots dash, so you get a guaranteed crit
80% cleave only on crit vs 250% cleave on repeated hit
@Reginald-sc9tk but combine them with a transcendent weapon 😄
If I may ask, what is the song at 10:50?
Sorry friend its AI Sloppa. I plan to talk about it some time 'cause its an interesting subject.
@@Reginald-sc9tk Ah I see, no worries! Thank you for responding :)
Hey Reg just a quick question, that dodge bar you have, is that a mod? Or a new QOL feature coming with the update??
Great video as always, always fun to learn new tips and tricks to get better. 👍🏻
I wish it was QOL feature. Its a mod called dodge counter. I usually use Numeric UI.
I'm so excited.
Quick question, activating the special counts as block? Or maybe as parry? (You can parry overheads but can’t block them) Does it count as a normal block or does the block have any special properties? How long is the block window?
Its a block, im not sure about other properties. I'd need to look at the code but I didn't have access.
using the relic blade makes me feel lile an astartes more than playing SM2, DTs' (and VT2) melee gameplay is just unparalleled
Mk10 L3 has no cleave, except you can bbq skewer 3 light enemies with it.
it has limited cleave. You can get a few guys especially with cleave enhancements from wrath. But its not like....great.
@ ye ik ik, I actually think it’s kinda funny n cool to be able to skewer enemies with it even though it doesn’t have a massive impact
It would’ve been cool to see something like perfect strike on this weapon
13:45 'Tis only a flesh wound, we'll call it a draw
Wait I'm totally blanking out here on the block mechanic... there is one right? How is blocking using this greatsword? I really want to be able to block hits instead of constantly dodge with this... It just fits the power fantasy so well to block a hit then do a counter attack...
yea, block exists. I use it sometimes.
Whoa whoa whoa, sprint attacks? Was that always a thing?
not on every weapon. Maybe just a few.
I am so keen for this weapon but I'm afraid I wont be able to go back from the sprint and dodge of the Duelling sword!
And the DS's outsized carapace damage of course :P
@@Reginald-sc9tk Absolutely! Buuut the two handed sword definitely wins on coolness so...
I cant believe every class aside from vet got some sick new weapons this update
Its not like vet hasn't been in the reverse position.
Man. I didn't even know that you can chain heavy and light to combo like that. I assumed they always that with their respective first attack.
Do you have a havoc mode video coming out?
Yup! It'll be out later this evening however, its a big upload.
@@Reginald-sc9tk Can't wait!
Oh dude I didnt even know they added these! Im gonna go try this asap! Was getting kinda tired of my heavy evisc build I been running for ages haha xD
Edit: odd I just logged on the game and don't see the weapons anywhere? Nor do I see the new gameplay mode havoc. Am I missing something? According to steam my games up to date.
Read the steam updates my dude. The update comes out tomorrow, this dude is a play tester
@Nereosis16 haha didn't even see that 😅 😂 makes sense lmao.
Sorry for sorta jukin' ya bro. But yea I have the unique privilege of early "influencer" (lol) access and am also a play tester so I was able to get this all together for everyone the day before release.
@@Reginald-sc9tk haha don't sweat it mate, I just need to pay more bloody attention 🤣
Now I can truly cosplay as Tavish Finnegan DeGroot.
Thanks for the detailed overview though, GG.
great man...apreciatte you doing this ahead of update launch...
i.....however, have a question regarding your 72fps cap...are you using Lossless FG?
I am not using lossless, the 72 FPS cap was in order to ensure my rig didn't have any stutters while recording for fatshark. Though frankly I never dip below 100 frames when I play normally.
@@Reginald-sc9tk oh got it...once again, thanks for the video and waiting for your build guides based on those swords!
I love this weapon... And that breaks my heart. I've been loyal to my eviscerator MkIII since I got it and now... The relic blade is stealing me away
The Relic blade needs an Emperor's Champion Black Sword inspired skin.
Yes
Hey that dodge bar looks really nice, is it a mod or an updated UI setting?
Its a mod called dodge counter. I want it as a base game function
@ completely agree, and ty :)
How about skiill build? Martry?
I've used this weapon with every build. Its just a good weapon.
Can you show us the martyrdom build you tested with? :) 🙏 @@Reginald-sc9tk
How do I activate the relic sword? 😅
Weapon special
If you’re on console it should be R3/RE, however, I don’t know what the button is on PC
@@idrinkalienmilk3948 I don't either because I have it rebound to a mouse button.
I'm just sad Vet didn't get this because I'm a Vet main. I hope Vet gets some really cool melee weapons in future. Maybe a 2h Power Axe?
I feel veteran will be more 1h melee and more gun focused. A power axe or a doublehanded chain axe is something xou'd see on zealot
2 handed weapons definitely seem exclusive to zealot, though it's funny since the ogyrn should be getting one as well
we can finally yell BY THE POWER OF GRAY SKULL
how do u have the dodge bar displayed ?
Mod
Wait is this sword not in the game? Thought it was but it looks cool, can't wait to play Darktide tomorrow.
Drops tomorrow friend.
I was wondering what function they would serve; stagger stick does make sense, I guess.
They're absolute DPS machines. But they also have great stagger into elites before they kill them.
@@Reginald-sc9tk I take your word for it, it's just not something I'd be interested in running. But I will say I agree, that Inquisitorial "I" on the mark X looks based. Did you check to see if there are any hidden finesse stats on it like the crusher's push attack?
on Wrath vs. Devastating Strike... doesn't Wrath lose all stacks if you miss or power up?
Yea, but its not hard to rebuild them AND you can build them simply by swinging into any target without missing. Even the same crusher over and over.
While the crit effect happens _based on random critd_. Unless running blazing piety your crit rate is going to not be worth mentioning on this weapon.
Any build recommendations for using the relic blades?
Soooon
@Reginald-sc9tk hell yeah
What is that mod that counts ur dodges?
Dodge Counter.
Alternatively Numeric UI. Your choice.
Have you done a video going over your Hud settings?
Besides dodge counter mod my hud is default.
These look fucking sick, like a baby of exec and bret longsword
They feel great to use.
@Reginald-sc9tk gonna have to put the holy knight armour on and get work
Can you show you build for double chanded swords >?
soon
I can't be the only scrub who thinks melee uppercuts look cool as hell but are too cumbersome to use effectively. You have to get so precise with the spacing to land weakspot hits without catching a torso instead. Idk, I assume I just need to git gud.
Try aiming a bit high and right of the intended target. Its a skill check for sure.
Considering the other options its B tier lmao. At least its a damage pump (by attack speed). I don't think I'd ever take it. Why bother?
Damn. these seapons looks juicy. Feels like a real dance of death
Wait can bosses still be one tapped by thunder hammer? How can that be done.
Stealth+martyrdom+weakspot hit w/ thrust, headtaker and unyielding perk.
What ui settings/mods are you using, btw
Just numeric UI and dodge counter
BUILD >? FOR this 2 sweet swords >?
Time to actually unironically spamming Holy Lance
Is that a two handed chain axe?
I killed a mauler so I could put him in the opening sequence...like I do in all my videos...as I lust after his weapon.
12:49 Whats staz? You mean steez?
5:28 darktide moment
I couldn't not show the third burster blowing me up. Also that dash that rammed me backwards was ugly.
Guys, how do you get the relic blade? Do you have to do the commisar missions?
No, just be zealot on high enough level
For reference my Crucis uses:
25% on both unyielding and carapace
Shock and awe (Duh) :P
And Headtaker.
@@Reginald-sc9tk Correct sir.
But hear me out.
They might not be dead...
But none of em are standing. ;)
