  • Materials:
    Contact cement
Pad material (felt, soft cloth, misc scrap, etc.)
    Glue applicator (cheap brush)
    Gluing Procedure:
Apply layers of (well stirred) contact cement waiting 15 min between each until both surfaces are coated where they will come into contact.
15 min after final coat of contact cement press two surfaces together, they will stick immediately, be sure there is even pressure being applied so that bond goes all the way around the edges of the base. Allow time to dry if excess glue was applied in areas other than where the contacting surfaces are.
    Tips:
Try to clean the bottom surface of the base as well as possible to promote glue adhesion.
Mark out base footprint with chalk so you can use less glue than I did! If you used too much glue just let it dry for a day, make sure the bottom of the cloth is not sticky afterwards!
Work in a well ventilated area!

Thank you! I'm restoring a Michael Taylor Spiral Lamp and this is the best video I've seen for the base.
