When I was at one of my lowest points I would see “shadow people”. I remember seeing mail boxes and stuff like that turning into a humanoid figure. I also saw a tree turn into a human. My thumb turn into a spider when I went to open a door and my sunglasses turn into a mouse of some sort when they slide towards me on my passenger seat while driving. I remember being very distressed by these at the time and thinking I was going crazy. Now I realize I was just in a bad place mentally. I have struggled with a lot of trauma in my past

@Muhammad Abdullah honestly it took a lot of work, I was unemployed for a long time after this trying to recover. I think it helped because I was able to focus on myself. I also took some small amounts of psychedelics during this time which supposedly helps with things like anxiety and depression but I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone . I did a lot of introspection and research online on coping mechanisms and went to a free therapy session every now and again when I was in a really bad place

I have mental health issues and have had episodes of psychosis and hallucinations previously in my life. I am making it my life mission now to educate myself as much as I can about human psychology so I can understand my own and others conditions. I am also looking at retraining in psychology so I can try and help others in dealing with their problems. I had visual hallucinations and had also very strong feeling of a fear, up to 13 years old, I was hallucinating even other people's feeling like they wanted to kill me, but when hallucinations were starting to take my brain on I was starting to be like paralysed or was forgetting how to move, except hands. I could move my arms and talk too, and everything around me was like upside down and like world was trying to split in a half, when I was looking to my hand or someone else's I was seeing them to change the shapes of body parts like getting their head smaller or my hands very thin and I could even feel the how shapes were changing I can't exactly describe, but I was saying over and over that I was upside down while all this were happening in my head and was crying, but finally time by time I started to get a hold of the fears and all those feelings, I was able to convince myself that all of those stuff weren't real and after I did that I only had hallucinations for couples of months rarely and one day it just disappeared, so if anyone else going through as I was, hope it helps. Just try to take control over your feeling first and convince yourself that all the rest is also made up by you, not by devil or something like this, my parents thought I was possessed by evel spirited 🤣 yeah they did and they were like "go away commend you by name of Jesus Christ" but I was only one capable of commending my extremely real looking made up thoughts, that is hallucinations, just part of super scary imagination that is hard to control, they ain't real, and devil, jesus and all the others like them aren't real as well, you have to do it.
Hope I didn't write this for no one. 🤣

@@haisukii hello. Thank you for your response. That was very thoughtful of you… my wife was taking antipsychotic medication called abilify and zoloft, and she seemed to be doing very well recently but she seems back to square one this past week. A lot of mean voices and she is saying that it’s me. Especially after sex for some reason. I was very proud of her for taking the medication and helping herself but then she either stopped or the dose is too low. She is taking only 2mg but the adult dose is supposed to be 15mg so that might be why it isn’t working. But now she is in denial again and won’t even call her doctor. I think she lied to her doctor also and just told her that she has depression and ptsd “because her husband is so abusive to her,” which is 100% untrue. In fact she is quite abusive to me in her condition. I don’t believe that she told her provider that she is hallucinating because of her aderall abuse. She is putting it all on me. And she continues to take aderall which she now says it’s “all she needs to take,” she is in denial again. If she would stop taking that, she would stop hallucinating but she is addicted. I’m in the US by the way. Worried about WW3 now too 😢 Nuked will be dropping any day now I suspect

These are mostly visual, sometimes I can hear things from them and just recently I had one where I could see, hear and terrifingly feel in detail

Olfactory hallucinations usually mean brain-damage, and they're quite distressing. Visual hallucinations can come from sleep-deprivation, brain-damage, and medicine. It doesn't happen all of the time, but the silver bird was nice. The umbrella floating down the street was kind of distressing. I've been on so many and seen so many weird things.

I have those “peripheral” hallucinations sometimes, usually when I’m sleep deprived.
I have a theory that there’s probably some sort of mechanism built into your brain that lets you automatically recognize faces or the human silhouette. My guess is If you’re under stress or sleep deprived or something interferes with that mechanism, it can start malfunctioning and register things that arent faces/bodies. So when it does this you feel like you are seeing a distorted creepy face or a person standing in your peripheral, when in reality it’s just some shapes that vaguely resemble that, and your subconscious brain just misclassified it. That’s just my guess though, but for me it literally feels like that, like my brain detection software glitching out.
When I turn to focus on what I think is a person or face and I realize nothings there, I can still sort of see the outline of whatever I thought I saw in whatever happens to actually be there. Like for example if I think I see a guy standing and I turn and it’s just a jacket hanging, I can understand how my brain thought it was a person because the jacket is a vaguely human shaped object.
Anyways, just wanted to share that with you bc after I had that idea it made those hallucinations a lot less scary for me. Once I felt I was consciously picking up on the “mistakes” my subconscious mind was making after I experienced a hallucination, they began to occur a lot less frequently and when they did happen it was not as frightening. All the best! :)

The brain is amazing and has abilities to do much more than we can imagine. The person who we classified as hallucinated or delusional is in excited state of mind. He or she might be living in 6th, 7th or 8th dimension which is beyond our ability to understand and communicate. One day we will have advance technologies to understand this.

Now I agree with this video however You want to know what’s so sad about this and actually makes situations worse for the individual. Is the fact that at times, the individual is not lying. And because the individual can’t explain properly or prove it at that given moment, it’s written off as a delusion. Witch is really unsettling and makes matters worse for the individual. I know this from experience. I have actually been followed by people or groups of people and the only time I was believed was the one time I was able to prove it because I was close enough to my home and I called my mother and told her this lady has been following me for over a block please come and she came and saw it for her own eyes. That was the only time I was believed. Any other time after that I wasn’t believed and it is not a good feeling to be in situations like that when your telling the truth and your not believed. On the other hand yes most times do actually be delicious and hallucinations, however, it is a disservice to many individuals that are automatically written off because of a mental illness. In my opinion FYI, most of the time these individuals are actually telling you the truth, their just not believed and it causes more damage to the individuals. I just wanted to share that because I understand how most individuals feel.

I also think it's important for viewers, clinicians and parents, educators.. who are watching this, that people having visual, auditory and tactile hallucinations do not have to be using any chemical. This can be an organic psychosis. Meaning it's just coming from the psychosis itself and not from any alcohol, THC, or any other drug. But thank you, very informative and I've never heard of Dewy Dimension I'm going to research that next.

I can't even talk about my experience to anyone till now as it creeps me out myself.

One thing people should know is that some of the voices sound like there coming out of the persons mouth when you’re talking to them. I could be with you and I could hear you say something in your voice that you didn’t even say. I feel like more people that know this could snap out of there delusion because this really sells it.

I have this strong swing of visual and tactile hallucinations sometimes and it’s quite frightening.
It happens at night when I’m in my bed. I can usually feel it starting to come on when my eyes feel like they’re melting and when I close my eyes and try to picture a person, their limbs are growing and shrinking in ways that are unnatural. This usually translates into my body after a while where I feel smaller or bigger than usual in some places.
If I don’t go to sleep within the first hour of this happening, some more odd things start to go on. I start seeing things that I know are not real but are just flashing through my mind. Many of these things are humanoid figures staring at me with wide eyes. Eyes. They are a huge part of it. The eyes are the sole focus in these visual hallucinations.
At this point I usually go to sleep and I feel fine in the morning. I abstain from all alcohol or drugs, and don’t have any prescriptions at this time.

Lately I've been seeing things, but strangely i only see them from the corner of my eye. I would be sitting in class(i sit right beside the door which is made of glass) and suddenly from the cornwr of my eyes i would see a lion walking in the school hall, when im doing hw at night i would see a dark figure wildly running out of the room, and i often lock my doors make sure my curtains are closed bc i always believe that smn may be watching me in dark outside whilst im doing things. Im uncomfortable with stares and that the sensation of being watched often follows me. Although i feel all these i have no real reason i may be experiencing these. Im physically pretty healthy(as healthy as any stressed 16yo can be) and my home and life is generally pretty good. Only reason i may be experiencing these would be my sleep deprivation, for the last 3 months ive picked up a bad habit of getting only 4-5 hour of sleep every night. I get the hallucinating which could be bc of the lack of sleep but is the paranoia caused by sleep deprivation?? Or do i need to get a serious mental check??

I got my "brain error" when I was 40. But what I learned from them is: 1 The human mind is very powerful, it can fool it's owner. 2 I use them as a mirror to my self. The person who I am. No one fools me. Not even my own mind.
So question you're believes and test them. Test your hallucinations believes against you're own. KNOW YOU ARE THE MAIN CHARACTER!
Maybe this can help you a bit.

It’s definitely because of sleep deprivation. The most common side effects are audio hallucinations, but visual hallucinations are common as well. You may also be seeing objects suddenly appearing into your frame of view, seemingly out of nowhere. These are all hallucinations. Start taking a small dose of melatonin (over the counter sleep aid) with some warm tea an hour before bed time. And also stop watching RUclips videos late at night, that too can have a negative impact on your sleep cycle. Good sleep is one of the most important factors in both physical and mental health and well-being.

It was mental torture, in fact I thought I was in hell even thought I could see I was not. Probably one if the worst experiences if my life...the only thing I could compare it to would be a bad trip on psychedelics.. but it was much worse. I don't usually experience mental health symptoms this severe so it was jarring for me.

I’m stuck with psychosis and visual hallucinations currently. This is no fun. I really for life had corruption inside my mind though :/ It’s a no wonder I dwell too much. My family doesn’t know. But now I know what’s truly wrong with my mind and where part of the blasphemy is involved in of the lies that I don’t really mean and why I feel like I’m possessed by wicked spirits. When really it’s probably not the case after all, and yeah, my insecurities really gets the best of me :/ It never truly disappears, and my mind only wants things to get worse for me :/ Half or most the time, I literally got a death issue and am so preoccupied with my own death. Though, I still got a problem just because I have too many insecurities. I’m probably only causing everyone and God trouble and that’s it. Literally, probably everyone’s tired of me. I’m tired of me to. The pain never goes away

Over the years she has been on several different medications and treated by several psychologist with little to no effect on her auditory hallucinations which are severe. She suffers with this from the time she gets up in the morning, around 5 and sits on the back patio having nonstop verbal interaction with the voices she hears until she goes to bed usually around 8 o'clock. The only break in this occurs when she is eating or speaking to someone. If anyone has had this same experience and can make suggestions as to where we can get help or guidance please do.

Hi all, when I read the definition for "delusion" I stoped before the "and". So, delusions are "fixed, false beliefs that cannot be altered by rational arguments". First thing... is the last part "and cannot be accounted for by the cultural background of the individual" and exception for religious beliefs? And what if a psychiatrist from a cultural religions background has a patient from a different cultural religious background? Will the psychiatrist understand or accept the patient's delusions? Second thing... given the evolution of religious beliefs, in a few generations, people with religious beliefs will be residual in some parts. Will the definition of delusion change? And in terms of psychiatry what therapies could we see available? In the future, of course. Thanks.

I smell something like smoke in my surroundings, but I don't smoke
    It's very disturbing😣
No one around me smell this
When I search about it, it's called hallucinations. What should I do?😟🤔

What is someone verbally recanting an old conversations, from traumatic experience, to themselves? Its almost as if i am back in conversation with the person. No false belief, no hurting others, no paranoia, not hearing things.

Isn't persecutory delusions the same as paranoia since both involves the belief that one is being followed? Is there are difference between them?

Is it possible that during the development of an individual, they pick up multiple disorders as a result of a faulty interpretation of reality, which I think is common at that period and they could reappear later in life as a result of some triggering phenomena or such?
Personally I think the answer is absolutely, just want to make sure and have a reference.
If so, is there a particular notion solely for this specific recurrence? And is it also considered to be a disorder or does it have a different classification?
    Thanks, anybody, for answer.

I have depression and anxiety and possibly trauma due to my history of childhood sexual abuse. My parents are still in close ties with my abuser , worse he lives in the neighborhood. He never did anything to me since (I've been cautionary now) but a few months ago I saw him sneaking into our bathroom while i was at a distance. I froze and the moment lasted for enough time to convince me he was real. But when my mother called him after that he was somewhere else. I was convinced that he was lying. But recently I'm wandering if it was a hallucination. But i never had any other episode after that. Idk what to do. Is one episode an indication of possible future psychosis or am i taking it more seriously than i should? Like i don't even know whether it was really him lying or my hallucination. And also I've pretty bad maladaptive daydreaming to the point of uncontrollable. *Can anyone help?*

My therapist told me I had Anxiety & Stress that was making me heat or have some of this problems. She told me it was called "Organic Psychosis" because I did not do drugs or alcohol also I wasn't taking any medication before I got that.
