If nothing else, this video proves that those who claim to be able to tell the difference among wood species in ply drums are full of crap. All things being equal, the type of wood has minimal influence on a drum’s tone. Good video.
Indeed. I watched a video about that on a channel called drumdotpizza. Very informative. I highly recommend
just listening through my macbook speakers but I can definitely tell the difference. Granted it's not drastic but I wouldn't say it's minimal either.
