I have to comment that this is one of the best reviews of a tv I've seen. You've included everything that normal reviews seem to miss out like the size of the TV and the space for the soundbar. Be great if you could mention tv mount type eg vesa 200x200. But this is specific to my needs haha. Thanks again for the great review
Go into setting, sound mode, turn on optimize. That is a much better sound, and higher volume.? Option Menu, scroll left to setting, in settings choose sound mode and then optimize.
Absolutely great tv for the price. Many people confuse the 5300 with the 4300. The 1080p screen is much crisper than the 4300's 720 display. I use mine as a monitor for study and some RUclips and so on on the side. The reason this TV is so cheap is that its manufactured with a single board, a main/power combo. We see them in for service quite a lot, but my theory is that they are so popular around Ireland, some of them are bound to break down. Really excellent TV, single speaker is fine for what it is, the reviewer says the sound is poor, I don't know about poor. A soundbar might be overkill for a device this affordable.
We have ours as a second TV in a bedroom and having a nice pair of (cheap-ish) Edifier speakers sounds excellent & adds real punch to anything you watch. I can see how some people definitely won’t need this, but I always like some decent audio when I’m watching TV 🙂 And you’re dead right, the 1080p screen is so much better than the 720p you’ll find on most budget sets. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
I've read that it has HDR game mode. The reason I'm thinking of getting one of these. The reviewer keepsreferring toit as a budget TV. What's a better choice then at 32"? I'd pay more but struggling to find anything that reads up better for the size for gaming. It's only xbox one x and not the modern generation of series x etc
Hi. I can't comment on the HDR game mode, but don't expect much from a TV at this price range. At the time I struggled to find any half way decent 32" TVs that had a 1080p/full HD screen. You may want to check out gaming monitors and see if any of those are more suitable for your needs.
Nice review thankyou! I'm stuck between one of these and the new LG 32LQ63 which is also meant to be one of the best budget 32inches.......what do you think?
Ah, now that’s a new one that I don’t think was available when I bought mine. Looks a good alternative to the Samsung. I’d say either.. Pick the cheapest of the 2 😁
@@Endpoint101 thank you for the quick reply! It's difficult they are almost the same in cost.....the only thing I can see on the LG it has eARC and HDR+ not sure if this makes it the better choice 😫
It’s a tricky one.. there are no mainstream reviews for the LG that I can see, so that makes it hard to wholeheartedly recommend it right now. All I can say is either wait for the reviews, or pick a retailer with a good returns policy, so you can send it back if you don’t like it.
The only way to get audio out on this model is via the optical connection. It has Bluetooth, but it's only for connecting peripherals like a keyboard & mouse. If you use a FireTV stick with the TV, then that CAN give you audio over Bluetooth, which could be a way around the problem.
Couple questions about this TV, how are the black levels? Cause I have no idea whether this TV has a VA or an IPS panel, also how’s the motion? Is there interpolation? Is it 60fps all the time?
I’ve had a look and can’t see any info re the panel type. I’m not a pro reviewer so don’t have equipment to measure contrast/black levels, so can only go off what I can see. They’re not bad.. not as good as a flagship model, but acceptable for a cheap bedroom TV, which is really what this is. I’ve noticed how it dims down in some scenes, then back up in brighter scenes.. there’s a service menu where you can switch off that behaviour. Motion handling is good with all the enhancements turned off (not that there were many to alter). Hope this helps a bit.
I'm afraid I don't know.. this is the only model I have. Tbh, the speakers in my Q9FN 56 inch aren't great either & I'd say you're nearly always better with dedicated speakers.
Yeah, I ended up going for these Edifier speakers, which have optical in & have good bass. I looked at soundbars and couldn't find one that suited my needs. amzn.to/3M1dTMn
Hmm, no idea. It doesn’t tell me on my main Samsung TV either.. I can only tell on there due to the brightness of the menus being ramped up. It’s not bright enough on this model to tell.. but I’ll try to see next time I’m using it.
@@Endpoint101 Despite this, I've compared it to my old LCD 32" Samsung 32d450 (2011) which is only 1366 x 768, using the same source (USB) and the same movie.
