I think I was a little blinded by nostalgia; these levels look a lot more empty than I remember. Regardless, I reccomend the GameCube or Xbox versions because these version have extra levels. Edit: my bad, you mentioned them. This is why I should watch videos until theyre over before I comment lol

Definitely hasn’t aged as well as games like THPS2, despite originating on the PS1.
I suggest you take a look at SSX3 speaking of extreme sports, once you set the controller to pro mode it’s an absolute dream to play on my Xbox

Shame what happened to BMX3. Z-Axis should have used this title as a good basis to improve the level design instead…of whatever they went with BMX Triple X. I still muse that the GameCube got this somehow to this day however….
By the way, can you do another episode about exclusive content? I’m so fascinated by what the developers in the sixth generation added!

This game was really special when it first came out. I always preferred bmx games over skateboarding games and Dave Mirra was king. Dave Mirra 2 played at a pretty consistent 60 FPS, had large open levels and solid controls. I have fond memories of both this game and the first one on Dreamcast.

Going to be honest, not as good as Toxic Grind

Played this on gamecube as a kid. Booted it up a year ago and was shocked by how much of the forest and desert levels I remember. I was also surprised the game had music lmao. I guess my brother turned it off to listen to his own or something, but all I ever remembered was the sound of the wind and birds chirping.

It was one of the games in the bundle when I got the Xbox.
Me and ny mate loved it and still play it now...I think we unlocked pretty much most it.
Just one of them games that clicked with us. We now just do the 3 min runs and see who gets the highest score.
The first level I think is the best, Woodward Camp.I do admit some of the levels can be a bit bare and open. The music does work well with the game, and we used to also play our own burned tunes.

@campxbox mate, if everyone liked the same things it would be a very boring world. It was just the right game at the right time, along with Halo CE and Bloodwake which were also included in the bundle, started my love for the OG Xbox.

I used to play the demo level over and over just to listen to "Paranoid" 😂 Never did play the full game because I did think of it as a Tony Hawk ripoff.

Frankly this whole premise is faulty because the game didn't hold up then. In the sense that it is a great game...in a vacuum. When playing Dave Mirra everything from the physics to the level layouts just makes you appreciate the masterful artistry that was on display in the competing THPS games.

Lot of memories of this on the PS2. It's easy to compare it to Tony hawk but it does this game a disservice. It's a very challenging game but I appreciate the broader scope of it. Some of these levels are huge! Make sure to try the multiplayer ragdoll injury mode. Don't remember what it was called but you have to score the hardest bail. It was especially fun on the turnpike map

@@campxboxAmped 2 is a near perfect game. I played it on my 360 not too long ago and it looks beautiful and plays so well. It's a huge step up from the first one and the third one didn't click with me. Amped 2 is top tier.

This was included on one of the OXM demo disk (or maybe it was a demo on another game. Sometimes they'd include demos as extras) and that's how I played it. Had a few fun sessions with this passing the controller back and forth with a friend but wasn't fun enough to want to buy it.

My friend and I used to play the 'Wipeout' multiplayer mode for hours lol. The goofy ragdoll physics and odd screams your biker would let out during crashes had us in stitches. There were so many glitches you could take advantage of to really rack up your score. I think we spent a good three years just on this mode alone. Such great memories! Excellent video :)
