  • Some "secrets" to bream fishing in the Big Pee Dee River might include:
    1. **Timing**: Understanding the bream's behavior based on the time of year can be crucial. They tend to spawn in the spring, so fishing near their spawning beds during this time can be very productive.
    2. **Presentation**: Bream can be picky eaters, so presenting your bait naturally can make a big difference. This might mean using a light line and small hooks, and letting your bait drift naturally with the current.
    3. **Location**: While structures are good places to find bream, sometimes they can be found in unexpected places. Look for areas with submerged vegetation or near the edges of weed beds.
    4. **Depth**: Bream often feed at different depths depending on the time of day and water temperature. Experimenting with different depths until you find where the bream are can be key.
    5. **Stealth**: Bream can be easily spooked, so approaching your fishing spot quietly and casting gently can increase your chances of success.
    6. **Variety**: Bream can be attracted to a variety of baits, so don't be afraid to try different things. In addition to live bait, small lures and flies can also be effective.
    7. **Persistence**: Bream fishing can sometimes be slow, but being patient and sticking with it can pay off. Sometimes just staying in one spot and waiting for the bream to come to you is the best strategy.
    8. **Observation**: Paying attention to the water and any signs of feeding activity can help you locate bream more easily. Look for ripples or bubbles on the surface that might indicate feeding fish.
    These "secrets" can vary depending on the specific conditions of the Big Pee Dee River, so local knowledge and experience can also be very valuable. #angler #bream #fisherman #fishing #freshwaterfishing #catchandrelease #locallifeoutdoors

    I used to have electric motor for my canoe years ago loved it lent it to a friend never got it back again but now I have a three horse evan route engine that I put on the back of it because it has a flat back for a motor and it's a sit on the ground one of those metal chief canoes real good canoe but I got a little fold up seat that I put in it so I don't have to be uncomfortable and it doesn't tip over that's for sure because you're sitting so low and it's so easy to paddle too because it's very late canoe it's aluminum and I painted it with green and Maple Leafs on it like a camouflage looks pretty good we're just laying leaves all over it and then spray paint in it

    You should try some crappie head quick connects, they will give the bait more freedom to move and makes changing out hooks easier!

    I would love to fish with live bait but here in Canada bc on Vancouver Island you're not allowed to use live bait we used to just go to one lake called the Wolf Lake and there'll be little stick-back fish along the shore used to net them with a small mineral net put them on your hook and the trout used to hit them like hard but you're that's illegal not allowed to do that we don't do it anymore The fishing regulations here have got so strict no barbed hooks got to fish with all barbless hooks no live bait and a lot of the lakes and that's even a worm sucks

    Where’s the Livescope? 🤣🤣
    Nice mess of fish. What ramp/landing you use on the Big PeeDee?

    • @LocalLifeOutdoors
      @LocalLifeOutdoors  Месяц назад

      No livescope needed, ha ha I usually fish all over the pee dee. I have no certain spot I fish. I fish mostly on the little pee dee, I usually fish at boat landings where it is one man boat accessible only without alot of trouble. I try to avoid the people just boat riding.

    www.youtube.com/@ronbennettoutdoorswildlife1514/videos Never fished the Pee Dee. What's the average depth? Good running, how about the logs & stumps? I live not far from Edisto, It's loaded with stumps & logs.

    • @LocalLifeOutdoors
      @LocalLifeOutdoors  28 дней назад

      The average depth is 5-6 ft in most places with logs, stumps and sandbars. The water right now is 3.9 ft. It's low. I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel. Stay tuned for upcoming videos. Have a good one buddy
