I'm 51. When I was 17 my mom blew her head off in the basement. Later, I had a car wreck that I had to be cut out of. My fiancé died of lung cancer. My dad died of liver cancer. There was other stuff, too. I'm only bringing this up to say, from one survivor to another, you are amazing. Your strength and grace shine through your videos. You're on the right track and things will get easier. It's weird how it happens, and it takes time, but you already know that. I am in awe.
Personally I don't know you but I'm so happy you're alive. The People in your life are so blessed to have you and I wish you the best.

My brother when he was 8 got onto a carnival ride called the zipper. They didn't strap him on when he got on the ride so when it started it pretty much threw his body all around. When it did it popped a blood muscle in his brain and he had a brain aneurysm and a stroke. He went into a coma for 16 weeks and they pretty much told us he was gonna die. They said they could do surgery but it could just end up killing him but if he does wake up he will pretty much be a vegetable. We did it anyway and now he is 22 years old. He can walk, talk and do everything everyone else can do. I am so happy he woke up and is here with me today because he is my best friend and love him so much. ❤❤❤

I have only came across one of your makeup tutorials where there wasn't even any dialogue, as well as your video on why you don't have social media and now I am here.. pausing this video at 8:57 seconds in, and just have to say that I have never felt so inspired by a RUclipsr like I do right now. I don't even know your complete story, but I know I will be keeping up with you for as long as you're here. I don't know if you'll see this comment. I don't know what it's like to lose a parent...but I understand what it's like to have hard times. I'm a recovering addict...from dilauded and oxyconton. I have been clean for over 4 years now. thanks to my children. They are my reason to grt up everyday and live. Some days it's hard to just get out of bed and be an adult. I'm so glad I watched your video. My fiance also has a TBI. He was in a truck that was hit with an IED in Afghanistan and it caused him some brain damage. He has ptsd also. sometimes I get frustrated with him because he will ask me the same question 4 or 5 times or tell me we are going to go out on a date then forget. I forget sometimes that he can't help it. instead I need to be supportive instead of thinking about myself...stay strong girl. All the things you have been through can only make you stronger even if you feel emotionally bankrupt and dead. it will get better
I think in a way that your videos are the equivalent to you writing a book. it's really beautiful to watch your videos in order, just to see how your personality unravels and your story tells its self in each video you put out. it puts me at rest, in a peaceful way I guess. that somebody can go through so much and still get up each day, willing to share so much in the most personal way. no outrageous studio lights and dramatic setups, just raw and uncut and in the truest form of yourself. you're an amazing soul and you deserve everything good that's coming to you because lord knows you're a real trooper.

I know what your going through with family troubles I lost my dad when I was 11 to stage 4 liver cancer and then 3 years later I lost my brother who was hit by a car at 17 that was 16 days before I turned 14 now I'm just 15 I wish you were a youtuber at that time because you have a true meaning behind your channel which most youtubers say what their channel is for but you have shown and I will forever watch this channel and I hope you and your family make it out of this challenge

was innocently looking through acne coverage videos on here when i came across yours; little did i know we had much more in common than just acne. i also got in a car accident at 18 and suffer from a traumatic brain injury. that was five years ago. my injury wasn't as severe as yours, but now my brain is constantly shrouded in fog/varying levels of dizziness. it's awful not being able to be that same person as before. i'm mostly house-ridden because my brain can't handle much of anything. i still try to find small things to be grateful for and implore others to do so. i took so much for granted before my accident. thank you for making this video, for sharing your story and such a powerful message; it made me feel much less alone.

In 2015 I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle. I suffered brain damage. I was 21 and I can't work, I can't sit still. I am not the same person, I struggle to get through a day, I never leave the house. Thank you soo much for this video. You've inspired me so much. I have become a stronger person, from what I've been through, but sometimes I forget. Thank you for reminding me.

I have been through some crap too maybe not at your level and I know how hard it is to get up when you feel so down and how much strength it takes to do what a lot of other people think is easy. I always believed bad things don't happen to punish us, they happen to make us sweeter and stronger and to help us understand others around us having a hard times.. I believe God has a purpose for people like you and people like me. You are not going through this for nothing the pieces may come together when you don't expect them to and you will realize you have made a difference for others and that you have the strength that many people don't have. You Tube is full of freaking TROLLS...ignore them..and if you can't..... BLock them. Honest negative comments should never be void of something positive...I worked in Neurosurgical ICU for several years as an RN....It takes a minimum of at least two years to even heal from a brain injury...don't give up. Your doing great to me.
i know thats exactly what i was told when i was sitting in the ICU after being hit. a year or two and i will feel the way i did before the accident. i dont think i believe that and after my whole experience of having a brain injury its going to be hard for me to find a dr that i can sit down and say i 100 percent trust that you know what your doing. ive learned alot in this experience but the thing ive learned the most is to never expect a thing. idk this has been the absolute worst thing that has ever happened to me in my life and on may 27th it will be the one year mark and i feel the exact same way i did when i was in rehab except i dont have my external fixator in. my brain hasnt gotten a lick better
Well believe it or not healing is very very slow on certain things....even scars can fade with time. I have a cysts that last for years and then vanish. Rehab is a growing business . Just always go forward.
You can do this! It took me a full 2 years to feel the same way I used to be and what happened to me was nowhere close to the severity of your accident. You are young and the brain has amazing capacity to recover - it does take a lot of time but believe in yourself and the process, don't give up on therapy :)
I stumbled across your channel from a makeup video, but decided to watch this one as well. I'm a licensed mental health therapist, but all I keep coming back to is, "Thank God for this honesty." I have no words... (and really, are there ever any good words when so much horrible things happen?) Thank you for your honesty, your candidness and your bravery. I have a disability so I'm guessing you might have heard things like this already (for being 'brave' just due to your experiences) but I have to say ... even with your TBI, your own grit and determination must be in what makes up your soul and self - your experiences couldn't take that away from you. I could go on, but I think it would be redundant - but God bless you for sharing what you have.
I hope so many good things come your way. You are desperately deserving and worthy of whatever success you wish for. seriously.
Sara darlin', I feel ya hun. I was brutally attacked by a stranger when I was 18 yrs old.(stabbed from my neck down) I was so lucky to even make it thru the first day...I died 3 times within 3 months after the assault. I'm here by God's grace forsure! I have lost most if not all my child hood memories, and I have a short term memory ta-boot. I have has at least 13 or so surgeries in hopes to get my body back where it should be...Anyway, I want you to know that your sister friend here is with you 100%! It's funny, I'm 54 years old, but feel I can relate to you more then most of my friends. I also don't know why it is as I get older, I find it even more harder to get myself to go anywhere but my home. I have to post myself to go places it seems. Does it get easier I wonder??? Will it get better, I ask myself??? After 36 years, one would think it gets easier, well, it ONLY gets easier, but it never seems to get better. For me anyway. Don't get me wrong, I'm greatfull for every single day!! But my mind still to this day re-lives so much. Sara, you are a fighter, a survivor...I know this life has some very special things in store for you!! I hope you will always continue this RUclips channel because I want to be a part of seeing and watching you grow and become even more AWESOME! You just gained a subscriber. At 16 I was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition that causes wide spread, chronic, debilitating pain. As an added bonus, I have the vascular variety as well which means I could drop dead from an aortic aneurysm at any time. When I was diagnosed, I was told I would be in a wheelchair by the time I turned 30. I'm 31 now and I'm fairly close to that. But I wake up and pretend I'm normal.
My senior year of high school, I lost my aunt to lung and liver cancer. The next year I lost my grandmother to pancreatic cancer. The next year I lost my fiancee in a motorcycle accident. And most recently, I lost my dad to congestive heart failure, among other things. Because my dad was sick for so long, my mom and I both lost our jobs and the past two years have sucked for me as well.
You are an amazing girl! I stumbled across your videos and this is the 3rd or 4th I've watched. I enjoyed your get to know me video, and this one. You remind me of myself at that age. Are you still in Colorado? Anyway, longest comment ever, but I think you're amazing. And I'm sorry for all the things you've had to and are going through. Keep doing you!

My grandpa just recently died, and I know it's absolutely nothing compared to what youre going through or what anyone else may be going through, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you so much because I felt so alone. I still feel so alone. I was extremely close to him, but after watching this video, I dont feel as alone anymore. Nobody knows this, but I was contemplating suicide because I've never lost a family member before and I have a bad history with depression. The death wasnt quick or easy either. But, again. Sara. There is NOTHING wrong with you. NOTHING. YOU ARE PERFECT. I have a rare neurological disease , that can't be healed or treated. It creates memory loss short term-long term, i have sever chronic pain that can't be made better, even with 600mg morphine a day, migraines so severe that i lose consciousness because body can't deal with the pain. i spend days and days in my bed without leaving, i eat in my bed, and my mom showers me, at 28 years old.. I sleep an average of 15-20 hours a day when the pain gives me a break. i've spent 5-6 days not sleeping eating nor drinking because of the excruciating pain. it's a degenerative disease, i don't have much to live. Like you i have lost EVERYTHING. I was in uni studying to become a doctor, i spoke 5 languages fluently.. I haven't spoke to anyone, beside parents and doctors for 4 years. No friends, nothing. Unlike me, you don't know your deadline yet, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE never stop fighting , don't give up. If you don't do it for you, do it for me, and others, who have not much left before joining heaven . Do it for your amazing mama, and your strong daddy. May god help you and your daddy to get through this with less ache possible. You are blessed with so many beautiful things i can't write them all. The spirit of your mama lives on in you, with you that's why you are so much more beautiful . So much love for you. i'm here if you want to talk too,, even heroes need a break.

God is great and there is great wisdom behind everything that happens in our life. You just need to take a step back and look at things from a different perspective. Like you said everything happens for a reason, we may not understand why in that moment but eventually the puzzle begins to come together and you are than no longer blinded by this temporary materialistic world. I have learnt that you should rely on the creator for he is eternal, and not the creation for it is imperfect and only temporary.

Moved to tears. I lost my mum 5 years ago a week after I turned 21. I then developed depression (and acne lol), was diagnosed with the neurological disorder narcolepsy (Which has also affected my short term memory, speech pattern and muscle response), and moved 250 miles away from everyone I knew. Every day is a struggle for me, trying to find my way back to a normal life, but I found your story so inspiring. Thank you for posting this.

I've been going through some tough family issues and i haven't been doing too well mentally and then for some reason i decided to stalk your channel and i came across this video. I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being such an inspiration and letting me be aware that i need to appreciate life and how it could be a lot worse. No matter how bad things are they can get worse and you just truly opened my eyes. I'm honestly shocked at the amount of strength you have. Having short term memory, I know what that's like and having pain where no one can help you is so sad because you just feel so helpless, like no one can do anything. Which I went through for a while, even though mine wasn't as severe. It's knowing how it feels, Sara you might feel alone. Although, the people that watch you are here. I HATE when people tell me that my makeup is why I have acne like please you have no idea. I'm so sorry you went through all of this. I know wanting to be normal feels unattainable. I am so thankful that I clicked on this video, in all honesty I only just watched a few videos of yours for the first time since about an hour ago and I just kept on going and watching more because I fell instantly inlove with you as a person. You have to be one of the realist people on youtube right now; not conforming to 'beauty blogger' norms of always trying to look like a damn barbie doll for every video, and I respect that so much. But what really got me in this video is how open and honest you are about your life, you don't sugar-coat anything, you're just a girl who is trying to make something beautiful out of some terrible things that have happened/are still happening to you.
You struck a cord with me personally, because I've also been through hell; my dad was very physically abusive with me and my brother and he would beat my mother close to death very often. She eventually divorced him because she knew that he would kill her one day, and she has struggled and hustled everyday to get us where we are now, and I am so grateful for her bravery. But because I was quite young when this all happened I kind of blocked it out my memory, but I recently found the photos that my mother took of herself when my dad would beat her up so she could have evidence for court, and I just lost it and have become severely depressed and just not myself anymore. But seeing that there are people like you who have gone through so much and also suffer from depression, and that you are trying to overcome it all and focus on helping other people even though you are the one who probably feels like you need help yourself really inspires me to try be a happier person, and to fight to overcome the things I've gone through as well.
Basically what I'm trying to say is thank you so much for being real and honest, you have no idea how much you've helped me. I really hope everything turns out well in your life and you finally have complete happiness.
I can relate to you I have been dealing with pain my whole life , loss an suffering. Im very sorry for all you've been through at your young age . You have struggled being belief and you are one of the most courageous and strong young women Ive come across and don't worry about the petty, superficial , insensitive and ignorant comments you get from some of your viewers. You are so much better than that. Focus on your life and whats important. I hope your dad pulls through somehow with the grace God. I know you probably won't see this. but I've been watching you for the past 6 months. I haven't gone through anything compared to you, but this year is one of the hardest I've ever experienced. I went from the happiest I've been in my life, to laying in bed, contemplating ending my life. You inspire me. I just happened across this video and I know how you feel! I have never had a brain injury; however, a year and a half ago I was diagnosed with lupus. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can silently affect any area of my body. Most people would look at me and think, "she's fine, she's normal." They don't understand what it is like to live with pain and fatigue and then to be criticized when I express distress. I am praying for you... Not in a sappy, cliche way. Truly I pray you will find comfort!
