Great video. I wish you had used the 2 obvious features - one to hold the paper down and the other to reduce the noise - but that's MINOR. What is more significant is that there ARE a few valid reasons to prefer a printer like this to a $90 or so InkJet - what most people buy these days (2024.) (1) For low volume of printing, the cost of ink for injets is obscenely high, and if one looks carefully for ribbon availability before buying the printer, one can quickly save money. More importantly, ribbons dry out more slowly, and there is no damage to the print mechanism when they do; with inkjets, it's like a car. Don't drive it for long enough AND YOU KILL IT. Having said that, many people like COLOR, which one obviously will have to do without if you go this route. 2 alternatives to consider are low cost laser printers and/or using either a library or CVS or FedEx, because even 50 cents a page may make more sense than buying one of these. (Hard to get one on Ebay for much less than $100! as I write.)
Why? (Kidding; I HAVE a KX-P1123 model that I'm trying to get working, but Panasonic's driver download page doesn't even list it. The closest model is an 1121 and the ver of Windows it's supposed to support is Win 3.1.......and ........wait for it.......DOS! Yikes. Guess I'll give it a shot (under the heading "Nothing ventured, nothing gained!"
The knob on the ribbon is used to take up any slack on the ribbon. As the printer prints it constantly moves the ribbon with left right movement. In order to make printing darker either replace the rubbin cartridge or cheat and put some ink inside the sponge inside it.
I got the Panasonic KX-P2123 color dot matrix printer and having problems getting this printer to print using a WCH PCIE parallel port card. I got the drivers for both devices but all I get is error printing or out of paper error. If I press LF and turn the printer on, it does print it own test.
Hello friend, a question I have this printer Panasonic kxp 1180 and the parallel USB cable, I have tried to install it in Windows XP sp1, Windows Vista sp1, Windows 7 sp3, windows 10, but I can't get it to print, with the drivers of Epson, Panasonic, ibm proprinter, and nothing...I really don't know what I'm doing wrong...if you can tell me with which winods and which driver worked for you, I would greatly appreciate your help
Hi, all I did was whats shown in this video. I didn't have to download anything extra. Are you sure the printer works correctly? What version of Windows was it designed for? The method in this video I found on the deep depths of a Microsoft forum where even Microsoft said it was impossible only for some independent random guy to explain to do this video.

You're missing the paper feed tray for loose paper. It will automatically feed loose sheets with that tray.
