The pianist is the singers' teacher -Mariinsky theatre accomtanist Elena Matusovskaya. All her "pupils" just adore her. It was her jubilee concert, so she is the main character of this evening.

Yes, she sang Macbeth several months earlier. Those were the years of transition of her repertory to more dramatic roles. Just in that year, 2015, she sang Anna Bolena (Zürich), La Bohème (London), Eugene Onegin (Vienna), Il Trovatore (MET) and Giovanna d'Arco (La Scala)!
