@@KrimsonKattYT If god created everything then he turned on a segment of that everything so what imperfection did this “perfect” being introduce that required correction thru the genocide of everything. Would not omnipotence mean he could just zap out the imperfection or go back in time and just not create the imperfection? And why would an omnipotent being need a lowly human to build him a boat? He can create matter / universe out of nothing but a simple boat is beyond his engineering prowess?
@@Jcs57 God only interferes so much in the lives of mortals. He wants humans to make our own decisions, choices, and forge our own paths, not have everything given to us. He technically COULD have built Noah a boat on his own, but God wants humans to forge our destiny with our own hands, not do everything for us. He's a very passive God, only getting involved when absolutely necessary. God just doesn't grant wishes and solve problems for us, He empowers us to solve our own problems through His grace. He makes the way open, but we have to decide to take it. God didn't create the Nephilim. It's very vague but something was done either by humans or fallen angels to mix human and divine "essences" to create superhumans, but these superhumans lacked the ability to feel empathy and thus became unstoppable tyrants that ruled over and slaughtered regular humans like cattle. God didn't like this and ordered the flood to wipe out these "abominations". God allows bad things to happen like the nephilhim coming into being because without evil there cannot be good, and many bad things may eventually lead to something good down the road. Strife and conflict begets growth, which allows us to develop as people and as a united nation. If there was no evil there would be no good, because if everyone was forced to always do good there would be no point. God created free will to allow humanity to choose to worship God, and by worship I mean by doing good deeds. Worshiping God isn't about singing hymns or praying, it's about doing good deeds and through those good deeds praising God with your actions. God is all powerful, yes, but he is also passive and only interferes directly when necessary. He knows all possible outcomes and therefore knows what's best, even if that involves suffering which is natural part of the way the world is. Life is suffering, and through that suffering we grow. That is the meaning of life, to praise god and suffer.

26:15 Nail head, meet hammer. My childhood up until age 12 was in fundamentalist leaning churches (US) that often gave warnings in the exact way you described. Being raised in that WAS terrifying! Being so worried about doing any little thing wrong, with the idea that such mistakes could be unintentionally “inviting in demons and evil spirits” is scary, exhausting, and deeply unhealthy for anyone, but ESPECIALLY young, developing minds! Not to mention the fact that it all made it sound like this big God, who was supposedly the single most loving and powerful being out there, could effectively be blocked and disempowered to help me by my accidental cooperation with demons, and you’ve got a recipe for a total mental breakdown. Thank you for your thoughtful critique. You’ve clearly done your research and your perspective, as someone outside of that world, is pretty spot on.
Ugh, I did a similar thing at one point when I was in high school. I had an anxiety attack, not knowing at the time what that was. Because I had been raised in an evangelical christian household, I self-diagnosed it as a "demonic attack". In a desperate attempt to find some kind of relief, I threw away everything I could find in my room that had any kind of "demonic influence". I threw away all my Pokemon cards and toys, all my digimon cards, two D-3 digivices and a D-terminal, Yu-gi-oh cards, Magic cards, beyblades, and my Final Fantasy XII player's guide. Probably thousands of dollars worth of stuff I had bought and/or traded for (in the way that kids do). To this day, I feel nauseous when I think about it. I threw away half of my childhood, all for nothing, because I had never been taught what anxiety was. I had just been raised to believe that if you feel anything negative, it *must* be a spiritual attack of some kind.
19;40 If you end up in possession of a stable of demons, learn to command them and use them to achieve good purposes, like any magician would, and like King Solomon did.
Replace Pokémon with human soldiers and you can see why that statement doesn’t work. Just because you’re trained to fight doesn’t mean you have to fight. The anime and manga actually show this.

Shinto is also very far from being "the oldest religion" XD It's hard to trace it but it began somewhere between 300BCE and 300CE. It's younger than Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Chinese Folk Religions and many many others. It's either a little bit older or younger than Christianity. So again. Not really that old XD
Since Shinto has no founder or sacred texts, it’s very hard to prove how far back it goes. It is likely the belief system grew and evolved from simple beginnings into what it is now. It is the oldest religion in Japan as it was there before Buddhism was introduced but in the world? Hard to prove what that might be as humans seem to have developed religious beliefs from very early on in out history.
A kid that lived next door to me in the early 2000s had an extremely religious mom (she was either Mormon or Jehovahs Witness) and he once told me that Pokemon were "demons" and had "demon eyes" and some kid got possessed by a Gengar that came through his gameboy... All because of shit his mom and church told him.

I am a pokemon fan, I grew up with gen 1 and still play the games. I went to bible college and was given a load of books before I started from someone at church. One of them was a book all about how pokemon was evil. The best thing about it was at the back it had descriptions of all the original 151 and their evolution levels it was like having a pokedex.

14:28 And the thing is, when they're in deep enough, people who believe that it's harmful still turn that around on you. "Well if you like pokemon and by extension demons, but you're not experiencing hardships, that means you're working with them to harm others. Or, you've been deceived, the enemy is using the carrot instead of the stick." And that's a much more likely response to someone like you, who is openly defiant and a satanist. Even though you're proving them wrong, you're proving them right. It's just not falsifiable in any way, which is a bit sad. The most you can do if you personally know someone like this is to show that you're chill and not evil and still enjoy all this stuff, then it's kind of up to them.
I always found it discomforting that the entire franchise is based around capturing the Pokémon and forcing them to fight against one another for sport. I never found the explanation that it’s O.K. because they’re a completely different class of life than ordinary animals and will just be rendered unconscious at worst to be a convincing argument as to why the Pokémon trainers aren’t acting unethically.
I dunno about demons and evil..but I know an addiction when I see it. Alot of people are addicted to Pokemon. People who have past trauma or who want to escape reality. Same with video games and social media... And drugs of course.
I don't do Pokémon but I do play and collect TTRPG's and am a veteran of the 1980's Satanic panic, so I can sympathize. But if God told me to throw away $30,000 worth of anything I'd tell him blow me.
My grandma who raised me did this exact thing to me.... and she made me help her. I had movies, all the games at the time, toys, cards, I even participated in several tournaments and won some. I came home from school one day and she was burning it all in our barbecue on the back patio. Then she told me I had to do it to. I had to tear up my first edition holographic Gengar, Charzard, Electabuzz, my Pokemon 2000 Ancient Mew and them watch them burn. I had to take a hammer to the gold Pokemon cards from Burger King. I had to tear the film out from the VHS tapes of my pokemon movies and shows. Because she thought god told her it was evil. It was the only way I made friends and after that happened, I couldn't really participate in those groups. I never really recovered. Got really introverted. It was a life altering event. It taught me to never like anything too much or else I'd be punished and that if I like something I should hide it from everyone. One day I hope to go to therapy to work some of this out, but yeah. It sucks. If your god wants to burn pokemon cards, tell him to do it himself. EDIT: Forgot to mention that doing all this burning absolutely destroyed and ruined the barbecue. plastic and fibers from the plushies and toys, mixed with the plastic and film from the VHS tapes, yeah we had to throw away the Barbecue after it was all done. I asked her years later when I was older and something reminded me of the event, I asked her why she didn't just throw it away and not ruin the barbecue. She really shot herself in the foot because she had to replace it and it wasn't cheap. She told me "It was the evil of the pokemon that ruined the barbecue." Religion is poison for the brain.
"Japan's oldest religion, Shintoism" Look it's been awhiles but I'm pretty sure Shinto is not Japan's oldest religion. Cuz I was doing research to remake a character called Shinto Samurai from 1940's American Comics and obviously they didn't know shit about Shinto and neither did I. So I looked it up and I distinctly remember running into "at THIS point in history, there was no Shinto". Again, been a long time, I'd have to redo the research, distinctly remember that. I just think he wanted it to be the oldest religion because it sounds grander and eviler.
My late sister was a devout Christian, and I realized her beliefs were more bizarre than I'd ever known when she told me Pokémon and Dungeons and Dragons were "mind control."
13:32 - I'll never forget this interaction with a girl I was dating in high school. I told her my grandpa bought us Harry Potter books as kids and she said it was child abuse 💀
One reason i am not a fan of pokemon is the underlying theme. Humans capture wild animals, break there will. and force them to fight each other until they pass out, for the joy of humans. Yea.. not for me. But my kids can watch it cause its also fiction and fun so...
My Wife is devout in her Mormon beliefs, and my oldest was incredible in the Pokemon tournaments she took him to, playing each weekend at the mall. I say this because we get so many crazy christians talking about pokemon being evil, we tend to forget there's even more sane christians who are okay with it or enjoy it themselves. My mom absolutely loves pikachu and she reads her Bible every day. She doesn't know many of them even back them but she's doing her best and I love her for it. ^^

"God told me it was demonic... and had a gender-bending character." Weird that God directly told you about how evil a "gender-bending character" was but in his very thick holy book never had a moment to mention how "gender-bending" is at all evil. Strange that he totally forget to call it sinful.
What’s even stranger is why would the creator of everything suddenly turn on his creation, or did this _perfect_ being make a mistake when creating?
Yeah the bible never mentions gender bending or trans characters. Weird how evangelicals are so obsessed about it yet that issue is never brought up in the 1000+ page good book. Very odd.
@@Jcs57God doesn't turn on humans. Even with the flood it was a last ditch effort to wipe out the nephilhim, who had overpopulated humanity.
My response to somebody throwing $30,000 worth of anything into the garbage is simply: a fool in their money are easily separated.

Shit, I got a personal tour of heaven last time I did a big dose of mushrooms. 😅
Damn, the bar for inviting demons is so low these days.

"Witch Doctor!" 1950 called, it wants its pop anthropology icon back.
"Japan's oldest religion, Shintoism" Look it's been awhiles but I'm pretty sure Shinto is not Japan's oldest religion. So I looked it up and I distinctly remember running into "at THIS point in history, there was no Shinto". Again, been a long time, I'd have to redo the research, distinctly remember that.
I just think he wanted it to be the oldest religion because it sounds grander and eviler.
