Not really, before 1755 most of Lisbon was made of really small medieval streets with an irregular layover, just like the Alfama and Mouraria districts are to this day. The reason why Lisbon now has open and monumental streets in the downtown, with a very straight layover, is because of Marquis de Pombal and his Lisbon post-earthquake reconstruction masterplan.

Congratulations. Glad you enjoyed Lisbon where I studied in my teenage years. I am Portuguese born in T. Verdas, about thirty miles from Lisbon itself.🙌
The first girl was a brasilian nicegirl. Probably she didn't know how to get to the castle. 😉
the first soundtrack so nice when it shows the "Cais do Sodré"
E a canção diz" o Cais do Sodre não é....."
😂 you should had have a look at a map! The entrance to the castello is on the opposite site of the hill seen from the river. And there a trams for public transportation going up that hill...😊 And a Chicken Sandwich for 11.50 €? That was a Tourist Trap.Take the smallest nearly empty walkways in the shade and you will find a local tasca (tiny restaurant) were you get tasty food for half the price.
Lisboa (Lisbon) my city❤❤❤
If you liked Lisbon now in 2024, you should have seen it 10 years ago. Less confusion from tourism, more chilled experience, less poverty in the streets, less robbery, much better prices (taking into account inflation compared to now), much easier to get a house at decent pricing, etc. But well, times evolve, glad you liked it.
Less poverty?🤣after we were still suffering from a economic collapse if 20% of portugals population right now is on the risk of poverty how would there be less poverty after an economic collapse
@@Inconspicuous3 There were hard times and poverty in that time, but we didn't have full streets full of people stealing and begging and living in trash. People were poor but had decency and were not on this proportions. Not gonna touch on what nationality most of those people have now, but we all know the problem.
@@adomingues00 who is we?🤣quando teve terrível mesmo quando nós tínhamos o maior mercado de droga da Europa não era os imigrantes q está ali a comandar não fala atoa por favor
Real estate speculation by foreigners is making impossible for locals to buy or rent a house
I love Lisbon! ❤
11,5€ for a Chicken sandwich with fries? Bro that's downtown Lisbon for you xD. You got robbed bro xD
Brasileira is a very old café in Lisbon, and is too expensive too😅😅😅😅
So many other better and authentic restaurants he should have went too as well and at a better price. That meal was way too expensive
Thanks for visit my home Portugal ❤😊Next time explore north and south would be cheaper and there is incredible places to explore as well 😅
you went to brasileira, wich is one of the most expensive places in downtown Lisbon.
If I recall correctly there's a trolley car that goes most the way up to that fort overlooking the city.

You guy's need to check Azores island for Portugal

Welcome to Portugal, and next time came to the NORTH of my country!
Hey Auston
How about your next video project in Porto, Portugal? This city is a hidden gem-think medieval streets, stunning river views, and vibrant local life. Capture the golden sunsets over the Dom Luís I Bridge, explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ribeira, and dive into the rich culture of port wine cellars.
Porto is bursting with stories waiting to be filmed. It’s not just a location; it’s an adventure that’ll give you unforgettable footage.
Let’s make it happen-Porto is calling, and it’s going to be epic.
Afro-americans love Lisbon as it`s full of black people and racists as they are is a very good city to them in Europe as some comments can prove it...! Of course a white citizen can`t say he likes some city because there are more white people...!
Nice. Vídeo, Nice Music
As a native, this shit was cringe as fuck, but im glad you guys keep enjoying our city centre playground :D
My City❤
Lisbon is unique
Lisbon used to be even more magnificent and bigger before the Earthquake of 1755…
😲😲
Not really, before 1755 most of Lisbon was made of really small medieval streets with an irregular layover, just like the Alfama and Mouraria districts are to this day. The reason why Lisbon now has open and monumental streets in the downtown, with a very straight layover, is because of Marquis de Pombal and his Lisbon post-earthquake reconstruction masterplan.
@@diogorodrigues747 yes but the earthquake destroyed lots of old monuments, like the opera palace
@@skurinski True.
@@diogorodrigues747 The big earthquake of 1755 destroyed 70% of the city. Lisbon would be a really incredible and more amazing city if the earthquake didn’t happen ! And I’m not Portuguese by the way lol
You should watch the news 🇹🇷 going through economic crisis
My friend, you came to Portugal 🇵🇹 and show us you eating food in a place called “A Brasileira “!?and say it’s nothing special!?Makes no sense to me!Would be better a restaurant of traditional Portuguese food!?Right? However I like your video of my city and congratulate you for speaking Portuguese with the locals
Be safe!
