I wish I saved my old worlds! Sadly they're mostly gone
Yeah I had so many builds scattered across old worlds
i have some of them, but not all, especially the very old ones
Rip my first world made back in 2010, I can still roughly remember the terrain around my house
Same for me when I deleted over 200 worlds from my xbox
I immediately fucking regreted that, then I almost was sent to a psych ward
I still have all the hardware from my first worlds but they’re sitting on two 360s and a 1 that don’t turn on anymore.
One day I’ll treat myself and pay a professional to dig in and save them for me.
1.12 being 7 years ago makes me feel old
I have lost many worlds due to unexpected tech failure where I had no time to back it up. I’m too forgetful to remember, and alarms don’t help. So, it happens.
You're joking. My first ever triple piston extender was so goddamn massive it was bigger than a village I'm not even joking
My first ever triple piston extender was probably about as big as 2 or 3 pre 1.14 churches
My first original double piston extender was bigger than multiple chunks
CNB is also what got me into redstone, the first build I did was the Batcave waterfall entrance
CNB definitely was my first redstone youtuber and i remember his batcave and waterfall entrance that I just thought was the coolest. made me want to build manors and other cartoon builds with secret lairs or bases.
I've started similarily. Now, over 10 years later, I still have no idea, how to not make spaghetti redstone😂
whats spaghetti redstone
@SomeGuyWithALife The name speaks for itself😂 Just connecting stuff with a spaghetti and it becomes a mess
I remember my first redstone-based world on a copy of mcpe lol (lokicraft). I built staircase that pops out when turning item frame, a rocket that already flew off, cobblestone generator, 2x2 piston door, and the best thing is
AMOGUS VENT
All the memories were stored on my brother's tablet (his tablet's data come from my old phone) i wish i can visit it again 😢 my new phone can't run old version of the game
With the doWeatherCycle gamerule, you could have typed
/gamerule doHerobrineSpawning true
and it would've said
Game rule doHerobrineSpawning has been updated to true
Basically, what I'm saying is that doing the command wasn't immediate proof that the command existed in that version. That said, the command was added in 1.11, so it did exist when you last used the world. However, if you created the world/contraption before 1.11, the contraption would've been the only way to prevent weather.
Now all that's left is to use a chunk editor to merge the current and previous redstone testing world
I thought maybe the pool was for testing swim speeds or boats or something like that :D That's some cool lore though!
Also IMHO the only thing cringe about this video was how terrible Glowstone blocks looked back then :D I wonder when they changed that texture, cause I started playing in 1.16 and I remember Glowstone looking awful then xD
I still have my old bedrock edition redstone testing world and I think the only notable thing I made was a "repeater" made only of redstone torches that could do input output and lock
It's a lovely video ❤
I saw the exact same learning process i had. Even some builds i also used for my own, like the exact same piston elevator.
All of my Piston doors had a length of like 10 blocks on each side, and my water harvester for farms became creative in an interesting way.
I wouldn't say i'm a professional at Redstone, but i can say for sure that i got some skills over all the years (like over 10 years in my case) and that i can make my own stuff in a quite efficient way.
And the most important thing: You never stop learning.
It's okay if you need help. You learn from.
It is very encouraging to see other ppl's humble beginnings. Thanks for sharing.
this makes me feel a little better after starting my first serious redstone world
Lol just realised that jazzi turned off minecart music in game but added it on editing
Lol I was waiting for someone to comment on the music :D
I think that block swapper was a modified version of the of the one from the redstone handbook it looks eerily similar
When I first started redstone, I made a cave trap that makes u fall into lava when I break a diamond. Then, i just repeated the same build through out the world
i started playing minecraft 13 years ago, and for the first 2 years i only played on 3 singleplayer creative worlds. i built a bunch of random stuff on there, including some redstone and command block stuff inspired mostly by sethbling i think. i lost those 3 worlds a long time ago because i somehow messed up transferring them to a new pc and didnt realize until it was too late. it makes me sad that those worlds are just gone forever now. i probably only remember less than half of the things i built in them at this point.
I love your vids, to me, it's like watching Gordon Ramsey cooking an elaborate meal on one of his fancy shows, while I burn my pasta+tuna can dinner.
When you showed the weather clear command block, some memory's were found, that should have been lost. Sadly I can't restore my own old redstone world from 9 years ago last opened, but seeing your vid made me remember many of my crazy redstone techs I made. I would love to see the technic I used and how I would do it now in compare haha
Edit: I remember that I didn't even know of the "weather clear 999999" command but instead I used a daylight sensor with a "time set 1000" command and a normal "weather clear" command haha That's how I used the fact, that when it rains it gets dark, good old memorys ☺
i lost all but 1 of my old worlds (the one i kept was about an infinite staircase) because of a bad transfer, though i'd say the only one im sad about is IDEAS, which i built many command block things, messed around with datapacks, used player heads, made a christmas tree, made portals using end gateways and commands, built infinite rooms, messed with particles, and much more. sadly its gone
also btw it was one of those sandstone superflats because i watched mumbo jumbo and then saw the redstone ready preset in superflat and thought something like "huh this must be what the smart people use" and then used it
I remember my first ever world about 3 years ago, the first thing I did was a giant and complex color changing beacon and it takes me year to finish, while on making it I realized how repeaters works, while working on it I stumbled into a 1.1 world where there was a super old calculator made out of torch, stone and redstone dust also lamp, I thing for weeks how it works and that teach me how adder works tho it didn't teach how other operation works I managed to learn how binary addition and subtraction works
On the way I was amazed on storage tech so I made a shulker sorter, compact storage and more that I forgot
I was thinking if I did this in just a span on 1 year then you should be a redstone god now.... Well it was my ~3rd year on redstone I learned computer science and digital electronics because of Minecraft
Currently I know how to make CPU but idk why I planned and started 3 of them but never finished..... Anyways happy redstoning!!! 😊😊
13:50 Bro what that Olympic sized swimming pool doing
nice video ^^
You need to make a video, where you redo all the builds. That would be cool!
One of my early redstone testing worlds was just a copy of CNB's Super Compact 3x3 world download. I also used XPD server plot also which had my pre 1.5 smart furnace which is pretty much only creation I no longer have access to. I was so mad when 1.5 released and broke tileable bud switches.
Es extrañamente reconfortante ver que así fue como tu iniciaste, incluso si sabia que yo estoy comenzando igual que todos, sentia como si algo me estuviera diciendo que no era bueno en ello, pero veo este video y... me... calma
( im french sorry for trad )so many memories, at the time I started redstone in 1.7.3 I was 8 years old with the piston xD mod and the videos from CBN and FVDisco
My first redstone world is also a not a flatworld. its just so lively and inspiring to do redstone on a regular world. Bit it got messy quick so I had to move to a flat world
that fireplace was unironically awesome
You should have told more about your competitive swimming story.
My own backround in competitive mathematics makes me extra curious.
13:30 no it’s just a really weird one by one door
CNB's batcave was my intro to redstone back when it first came out I was ASTOUNDED
@@charchar635 A true classic
I had a massive testing world on my old phone that I lost when the phone broke (I didn't do anything to back it up)
still super sad about that, its a similar mix of following tutorials and my own original stuff
My problem is that I don’t know where to start with redstone because most people don’t explain how to build something anymore just showcasing how it works.
I tried to make a hidden crafting table and it turned out horribly, I had 0 idea what I was doing back then and still no idea
Mumbo should do this with his test world, my goodness that thing is so full, he'd be there forever but he'd get a cool vid. Heck, I should go do this! (Sadly my PS4 crapped itself so I can't rip.)
6:35 1-tick pulses cant go through torches (or comparators) and could not for quite som time.
Actually they can be 1 tick pulsed but you do it with observer or repeater. The most common example of them being 1 tick pulsed would be shulker based randomiser
I started Redstone a little bit differently
I never had 1 original world I would make Redstone on, mostly servers and realms and any test worlds now are stuff like threadstone or world downloads
I think I counted this video's title and thumbnail change over 7 times
It's over 12 times by this point
1:55 It could also be that the gamerule doesn't actually exist, because IIRC in 1.12, you can type anything you want into /gamerule, regardless of if it actually exists or not, and it will be saved under whatever name you put, and it won't throw an error.
it did autocomplete, it looks like, meaning the gamerule existed even if it wasn’t functional
The gamerule exists, but by the time of 1.12 it was pretty new, with barely an update or two of existence
3:30
My minecraft file just got corrupted, so I lost all of my worlds. I thought minecraft would save it for when I reinstall it, but they're gone
Rip :(
When i begon, i used a timer to.(to set the time and the weather)
10:14
>seamless
>glass frame
i am not really sure if it works with a solid block frame but if it doesn't then it ain't seamless
I also had command blocks to clear the weather in my world lol
Nothing embarrassing about learning!
Nice
Random thing but I'm making my own Redstone "computer"in an extremely old xbox360 version
oh...
cool
11:17 this desing, literaly redstone changer, i dont kmow where you learn that from but i have this too, dropper and hopper, literaly switches redstone working on button click, for example click button once redstone stays active until second click, twice not-active, but why you needed 2 at time?
Isnt 1 redstone switcher is enough?
Oh wait i understand how you build that, but by the way you abbled to do it with 1 of redstone changer, and connect all lines differently, not by build 3 redstone changer for each redstone lines
you should make your own 4x4
oh yeah, i remember i too started redstone like that, though i am more of a builder than a redstoner, i can design something... i still have not completed my rite of passage that is the 3x3 piston door, and it will probably take awhile as i am playing other games besides minecraft...
I watched this is 144p for authenticity (totally not because of bad internet)
I usually do some shit and if it works it works if it doesn't I delete it and when I'm following a tutorial it's always in survival not in the redstone testing world
1k likes, 2 dislikes. 1.12.2 was my first minecraft version
The pain watching this
I prefer the non-clickbaity title more :3
My first Redstone build was idk like a 3x3 by someone random
I wish there were more Bedrock content
Now make a Backup bring it into 1.21.x and check what still works
When I tried Java redstone I was rly confused that u can’t put a torch on an extended piston like in bedrock
what do you mean old version im currently playing a modpack in 1.12 with the good nether and simple caves
Wait, WAIIITTT! Why old version minecraft commands works in new version but after modify it says error in command, i checked now, my old minecraft world where command block has many "/execute @p..." commands works even now but after changing code simply it Just not working,
How do minecraft codes works?
Thats strange man! Command blocks runned old codes in new minecraft where those codes are changed, but it only detects that after you changing code only
I lost mine :( but I have a vid a long time ago that I still saved
You never pushed the blue button at 16:03
9:54 I’m sorry but this sand pillar isn’t really old school
I HEARD ARIA MATH
4:35 your attempt at what?
an ABBA circuit. It is referring to a circuit that will turn on in one order (A then B) but turn off in the opposite order (B then A) so ABBA.
Wait... 1.12 is old now?!
Okay, I'm okay. You started this world way before 1.12. Reassuring 😅
16h ago
Guys don't start pretending 1.12 is retro
1.12.2 brings back so many anarchy server memories
*olympic sized pool comment*
should redo these with todays knowledge...
:0
redstone in ohio
01:29 No, it's because you're below version 1.13.
04:57 It's not cringe redstone, it's survival mode redstone. :D
