I don’t think ROBLOX as a whole has enough of a theme to build off of. This just seemed partially like LEGO movie where they’re needing to find a person to fix their problems (in Lego’s case, Emmett was “the special”). There’s so much slop on the platform that it makes it hard to isolate a specific identity for what a movie would even be. I saw a comment mentioning how ROBLOX would make it on one specific game rather than the platform as a whole. This would fix a bit of those theming issues, but regardless it’s still admitting that ROBLOX as a brand doesn’t have strong enough foundations to make a long-form film.

I don’t know how well they would be able to execute that. I feel like the ROBLOX brand doesn’t have a strong enough theme by itself to hold a feature-length movies runtime. Fundamentally it’s just an engine that people use to both play and create games for others, but so many of these experiences are morally bankrupt slop with a coat of bright colors and item-buy buttons everywhere that cost insane amounts of real-life currency in the form of ROBUX.
