I use wax from my ears. Seems to be the right consistency. Plus it saves me money from buying store bought. I hope this little tip helped out? Good hunting. 👍
I use a recurve and i waxed mine a couple of days ago.. my dad has a compound for over a year and hasnt waxed it...so im watching this to learn how to wax a compound... thank you
Sorry for delay, this is just a homemade device we use in our shops, however there are several manufacturers out there that make a vertical bow vice. I can’t remember off the top of my head, but if you call any of our stores and ask for the brand name they could tell you, it’s stamped in the vice.
hello, so there isn't any archery shop where i can buy string wax, but my uncle owns bees so he's got wax, would it be ok if i use this kind of wax? of course i make sure there's nothing else in it but would that be ok? btw, by bow is a recurve. thanks!
Adriana Caraivan When I was a young man, the drug store in town sold beeswax "plugs". I asked what it was for and the druggist said it was what bow hunters used on their strings. This was in 1960.
John Newcomb thats a great question, I would say no, and my thought for that is because you would be adding a layer of soap which makes the wax not want to stay in place. The string takes an wicked amount of vibration throughout the shot, you need your wax to want to stick as well as possible!
I have a question I will wax my string and go shoot but after I shoot 20 or so arrows it gets little white frays again even though I just waxed it. Can anyone help?
Was literally using my dad's old wax while watching this at 2:20...Tex-Tite brand, white tube, red cap...lol
HAHAHAHAHA, nice!
Perfect explanation here after I've watched 10 other videos. Thanks bro
Thanks so much for posting! Was about to go crazy on my new string! Great video.

🤮🤮🤮
🤣
Lmao
Excellent tip on removing the old wax!
Great video, I agree that you should always remove the old wax first before applying a new layer. Many people forget that first step.

thanks for good information.
You cover small stuff in the video. Nice detail
Thanks try to keep
It simple
Why is the white with red cap no good to use? What brand would you recommend instead? I couldn't tell what you were using in the video
Bohning seal-tite. It's basically the regular stuff but with sillicone added to it.
And the new red tube black cap Bohning Tex-Tite is no good? New package for crappy wax?
thanks for the video really wondering about that alarm going on
I'm going to use winterfresh floss so I get a nice little wiff of refreshment every time I anchor.... mmmmmmm... minty
I will stop over waxing LOL, thanks
That’s some good stuff.
Would fishing line or floss work to take the wax off?
I will now start waxing
Could someone maybe share a link for that nylon string he had? Oh is there anything else that may work well for removing old wax?
Paracord
Paracord is to stuff, a light nylon string or even dental floss will work really well…
What do you have to hold the bow in place vertically?

Don't throw away the red top white wax. Use to seal threads on bolts and attachments.
do I need wax for a bow that only uses cables?
Is that b&a archery?

Do u put on a new string right away?
Did you find out?
Dudes got all of the wax in his hair
If I don’t have serving string can I just used fishing line?
Ian C I would recommend using dental floss before fishing line, reason is fishing line will heat faster and cause more friction
Why don't you have drake and or you do more videos? Drake is really damn good at what he does as a bow technician. Kelly
Should you put soap on it first?

Use candle wax
Okay so how do you wax a string?
