We fell so in love with Meghalaya that we already made all kinds of return plans. The waterfall hunt was a really fun way to experience Earth’s rainiest region for our first time. Let us know in the comments what you think of this area if you’ve ever been, or if you have any questions if you would like to visit someday. And tell us where else we can find epic waterfalls in the world.. who knows, maybe it will be the next place we visit in our vlog! P.S. the thumbs up button really helps us! ;)
Aaron, the name of the place is not cherrapunjee but Soh - Ra. And the cleanest village its pronounced Maw - Lyn - Nong. Anyway felt happy that you guys had a good time.
@@yvonnenkyn4036 I have learned a lot since leaving, and look forward to knowing even more next time we visit. Yes, I have discovered that the true name of Cherrapunji is Sohra.. Thank you for letting me know :)
Meghalaya is a land of very protective natives....we love our natural gifts and we will protect it with our lives, dedication, commitment and hardwork...n it's sad that some people never respect it by keeping it clean
Agreed. I come from somewhere that has been allowed to be trashed and the natural beauty built upon as if everything were a blank slate. But growing up I learned the value of nature and how it can not be replaced by anything. So I completely agree with you and respect protectors of nature. Too bad many people only see everything as something to take from for themselves
A kind information i.e, Sohra not cherrapunjee respected sir .... cherrapunjee is not a local name just some random people outside Meghalaya gave the incorrect name...☺️❤️👍🏻love to see you explore some various parts of SHILLONG n it's beauty around keep going ......I'm giving my subscription n 👍🏻
Thank you so much! Yes, I have learned of the true name after making this video, and will have more local knowledge next time I visit, which I am greatly looking forward to doing!
Yes! We wanted to go to the double decker bridge but we had our young child and parents with us too, so we wouldn’t have been able to make the trek. Next time! Thank you for the recommendations :)
Welcome to the land of thousand cave and thousand waterfalls meghalaya btw u missed the tallest plunge waterfalls in India nohkalikai falls it's in sohra
Oh I know! We looked up more after we were done because we were so excited, but we will be back for a part 2 sometime in the future, and we will make sure to visit Nohkalikai
Yes I have since corrected this in the description of the video and put the proper name, Sohra. Unfortunately different people with different languages call different places different things all over the world. Doesn’t make it right but what we heard at the time was that it was called Cherrapunjee so that’s what I thought the true name was then. Thank you for the correction. Have a nice day :)
Agreed, however I felt like all of the people wading in with their feet brought outside dirt and germs into the water. Just wasn’t willing to risk my open wound, but would like to go all the way through next time
@@AaronJKaplan If you put it that way, totally understandable. There are 1600 caves discovered in Meghalaya out of which 1200 have been explored totally or partially. Some of the caves are 30-32km long and in some caves you can do rafting and scuba diving as well, in the proper season.
@@kyakaruvlogs2784 that is amazing. I had no idea! I will definitely be looking more into that because a cave hunting series would be so fun! Maybe I can find some videos on caves on your channel?
